[Bug 51745] Re: python-gst required to build, but not in build-deps
I encountered the problem when building the package for ubuntu breezy. When python-gst0.10 was not installed (I had to build it myself later) the build would fail when generating documentation. I was using the dappper source packages. I see that ubuntu-desktop in dapper depends on python-gst0.10, so I I tried forcibly removing python-gst0.10 from my dapper install and building from the edgy source packages, but couldn't reproduce the problem. I conclude that the problem has been fixed in edgy and that building doesn't require pygst anymore. It's possible that the problem would still appear when building edgy sources on breezy, but perhaps that doesn't even qualify as a bug. -- python-gst required to build, but not in build-deps https://launchpad.net/bugs/51745 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 51800] icons in workspace switcher
Public bug reported: The standard workspace Switcher of Gnome shows 4 workspaces. These workspaces can be populated with several windows. If a window is of fullscreen size the little windows normally even show a icon of the program that is running in that window. Under some circumstances these icons disappear. For instance if the window size is too small to show the icon. The problem is that those icons do not come back if they would fit in the window size. This can be seen by dragging the appropriate panel from the top of the screen to the left side. The icons disappear beacause the window size is reduced. If you put the panel back to the top of the screen the icons will not come back. (This is one way of reproducing the problem. In fact, on my computer those icons disappeared repeatedly without a known reason. So far, the only way of getting them back is to restart the Gnome Desktop.) - My system: Ubuntu Dapper Drake 6.06 AMD Athlon 1800+ 512 MB of RAM any more details? [Bug 51662] Runaway leak in composer
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution Every once in a while, the evolution composer becomes out of control while leaking memory. This usually makes my system completely unresponsive within about 10-30 seconds. Evolution's memory footprints grows at a very fast rate until it gets killed by the OOM or I hit the power button (whichever comes first depending on the amount of swap space I have). I have noticed that this tends to happen just after I paste some text in the window, but I have not found a way to reliably reproduce the problem. This is quite a severe problem because the leak happens so fast that I don't have time to react and kill evolution before the system becomes unresponsive. On any machine with more than 1 GB swap, the result is a complete lockup -- there's no way out of this than to reboot the machine because the swapping goes on forever. ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- Runaway leak in composer https://launchpad.net/bugs/51662 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 36500] Re: Removing any entry from the left pane closes Nautilus
Sitsofe Wheeler: More generally, if the folder being displayed in a window goes (for whatever reason) what do you expect to happen to that window? I expect that the entry (cursor position) in the left window is going to move to the one on the bottom of the deleted entry. Next, the right window should be updated with information about the newly positioned folder-entry. I don't expect the right window to be closed, that wouldn't make sense. So, in my point of view, a folder displayed never actually goes (for whatever reason), it is simply refreshed by information about an other folder-entry. -- Removing any entry from the left pane closes Nautilus https://launchpad.net/bugs/36500 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
