[Bug 61825] Firefox start page still says '6.06 Dapper Drake'

2006-09-22 Thread Martin Pitt
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubuntu-artwork

Subject says it all, the start page needs to be updated.

However, I was a bit confused to see

  $ dpkg -S /usr/share/ubuntu-artwork/home/index.html
dpkg: /usr/share/ubuntu-artwork/home/index.html not found.

This is a knot-3 installation.

[Bug 61834] SD slot on 7-in-1 USB card reader not recognised as SD

2006-09-22 Thread Malcolm Parsons
Public bug reported:

There are 4 slots on my 7-in-1 USB card reader.
HAL calls them "USB Storage-CFC", "USB Storage-MSC", "USB Storage-SMC" and "USB
Storage-SDC".
HAL has the correct storage.drive_type for the compact flash, memory stick and
smart media slots, but the SD slot has a storage.drive_type of "disk".

In /usr/share/hal/fdi/information/10freedesktop/10-usb-card-readers.fdi I see
why:

compact_flash

memory_stick

smart_media

sd_mmc

HAL expects "Storage-MMC", but I have "Storage-SDC".

So the fix is to add this:

sd_mmc

[Bug 60959] Re: Nautilus and Dbus errors

2006-09-22 Thread namesk
hi,
I have the same problem with nautilus since I upgraded to Edgy (Knot3). But
when I restart DBus (/etc/init.d/dbus restart) I can see all my partitions from
/etc/fstab:

GTK Accessibility Module initialized

(nautilus:15795): libgnomevfs-WARNING **: Failed to open session DBUS
connection: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote
application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the
reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.
Volume monitoring will not work.
15795: arguments to dbus_connection_send_with_reply_and_block() were incorrect,
assertion "connection != NULL" failed in file dbus-connection.c line 2873.
This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library.

[Bug 57626] Re: Network Monitor Icons look stretched out on 1280x768 resolution

2006-09-22 Thread Daniel Holbach
I could imagine that gnome-netstatus' code expects the SVG to have
similar brain-dead size information as the normal icons. Upstream icon
has:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ file
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/gnome-netstatus-75-100.png
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/gnome-netstatus-75-100.png: PNG image data,
11 x 32, 8-bit/color RGBA, non-interlaced
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$

(So 11x32 for a 48x48 icon.)

If somebody likes to investigate that, that'd be nice.

I reject this bug. This issue needs careful thinking, planning and

Of course I could leave the bug open, but it's unfortunately not
specific enough for somebody to "just fix it".

I downloaded the source code of gtk+-2.10.3 and tried to compile, it
stopped asking for the development package of libtiff4.

The error log is :

configure: error:

I understand that it's an optional package, but maybe it should be
included in the dependencies for the development package of gtk.

[Bug 61840] Re: Translation of file-roller's manual

2006-09-22 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thanks for your bug. The help translations from rosetta has not used yet
because we don't have the infrastructure to ship with language-packs. A
part of the issue is due to rosetta which should make that clear or not
list to translate. Somebody from the italian locale team should send the
po for it upstream, they will probably be happy to get translation
updates and will commit upstream and Ubuntu will get it with next
tarball. I'm closing the bug on file-roller since that's not a package
bug, rather an another point to work for rosetta

I'll confuse even more.. libavahi-compat-howl-dev binary is actually on

libavahi-compat-howl-dev needs a promotion to main before it happens, but devs

[Bug 61878] Editing files in file-roller causes data loss

2006-09-22 Thread kuhi
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: file-roller

When editing files in file-roller changes can be lost.

How to reproduce:

1. Double click zip file in nautilus (create one text file and archive it if
needed)
2. Double click file in file-roller to open it up in an editor
3. Make some changes in file
4. Save changes (do not save in another folder)
5. Close editor and file-roller

Now changes will be effectively lost and cannot be retrieved back
anymore.

Fix proposal:
Remove user write access on temporary directory created by file-roller (in /tmp
directory)
