[Bug 62093] Computer locks up
Public bug reported: Ubuntu error report: I am running Ubuntu v6.06 LTS. I just have to congratuations on a wonderful operating system. I just can't get enough of it - however I have spotted an error. The screen saver regularly crashes the computer. It locks up the screen, no activity from the screen saver and the mouse pointer freezes. I have to reset and reboot. It seems to have a problem when making selection between screensavers. This occurs when selecting the screen saver you want in System->Prefrences->Screensaver. I also can't run random screensaver selection. I have a Gigabyte K8 Triton GA-K8VM800M mother board (rev 2) with 512MB of ram and an AMD Sempron 2.8GHz CPU. The whole computer is not that old (two months) and I haven't noticed any hardware errors. It didn't crash with the previous version 5 of Ubuntu. Mike Ritter. Can this be fixed in Dapper? This happened to me, but I was able to scroll down to see the rest of the menu. Considering that I keep the buddy list stretched from the top to the bottom of the screen, this can be a pain. Gaim has segfaulted and attempted to dump a core file. This is a bug in the software and has happened through no fault of your own. If you can reproduce the crash, please notify the gaim developers by reporting a bug at http://gaim.sourceforge.net/bug.php Please make sure to specify what you were doing at the time and post the backtrace from the core file. If you do not know how to get the backtrace, please read the instructions at http://gaim.sourceforge.net/gdb.php If you need further assistance, please IM either SeanEgn or LSchiere (via AIM). [Bug 62066] gnome-screenshot "Save" dialog does not show text for the "Desktop" location
Public bug reported: When saving a screenshot, the "Save" dialog pops up. When showing the list of locations where the screenshot can be saved, the "Desktop" entry has an icon, but no text (see attachment). [Bug 62031] GDM sometimes does not start correct on XDMCP remote session
Public bug reported: I am using dapper with Gnome and want to do remote logon with XDMCP from a Windows PC by using XMING and this doesnt work everytime. After a local logon on the dapper machine everything is fine. Then remote logon via XDMCP also works. Get a warning that I am already logged in and everything is fine. Without local logon on the dapper machine the remote logon fails (partially). Graphical logon and password worked, but the result of the logon is an empty brown background in XMING without nautilus. When I login via putty and SSH and call "ps -e" I can see a GDM but no nautilus. This happens with dapper 6.06 DVD version. I also make an update to last version via internet last week, so I thing now I have 6.06.01. The problem stay. For setup of remote login I used the graphical gdmsetup (remote...->"same as local") I crosschecked the gdm.conf... everything is like I expected but only works with remote XDMCP session if I make a local logon before. Found some blogs of people who get this brown sreens also with connection from CYGWIN to dapper. [Bug 62004] Re: Nautilus crash while downloading thumbnails for images over FTP
Thanks for your bug report. Could you please install nautilus-dbg and get a backtrace with it? ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Status: Unconfirmed => Needs Info -- Nautilus crash while downloading thumbnails for images over FTP https://launchpad.net/bugs/62004 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 61936] Re: crash after drag and drop of songs to the rhythmbox window in edgy
Thanks, I do not an automatic backtrace from apport anymore since rhythmbox crashed more than 2 times. But I was able to get a backtrace with bug buddy, I think that the backtrace from it should be similar. ** Attachment added: "bug buddy backtrace" http://librarian.launchpad.net/4415056/rhythmbox-bt -- crash after drag and drop of songs to the rhythmbox window in edgy https://launchpad.net/bugs/61936 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
