Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Unfortunately, we are not able to fix and find the bug because your description of the bug didn't have enough information in it. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively", http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. [Bug 73117] nautilus
Public bug reported: If I set Nautilus' browser mode as default, both "open" and "browse the folder" right-click menu items do the same thing: open the folder in browser mode. I can come up with two possible solutions to this faulty behaviour: 1- make "open" option open the folder in spatial mode. This would be suboptimal, since if I remember correctly Gnome states that the first option in a right-click menu must be the default action - in this case, browse the folder. 2- show "open in spatial mode" as a second option, instead of "browse the folder". I don't know if Nautilus can detect the browse mode and change the right-click menu based on it, would it be feasible at all? ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Wishlist Assignee: Ubuntu Desktop Bugs Status: Confirmed -- nautilus https://launchpad.net/bugs/73117 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Hi. Every time I launch the selection pattern through ctrl+s, I'm interested in selecting a pattern CONTAINED in the file's name. Almost 100% of the times I've done it I've had to add an asterisk at the start of the pattern, and one at the end. Could the selection pattern tool look for filenames CONTAINING the input, and not only equaling it? That would make my life easier. Thanks, David. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- selection pattern and * https://launchpad.net/bugs/73125 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 73128] Podcast: automatic download should not require user intervention.
Public bug reported: I have subscribed to a dozen or so radio/adio podcasts, so I set RB to check and download new podcasts automatically, every hour. The problem is that (probably partly due to my crappy ISP), RB regularly has some of problem with some podcast or another, and that everytime, it pops up an error window to tell me about it. Thing is, in praitce I get these windows very often, sometimes if I leave the computer unattended or a few hours or half a day, there are a dozen windows I must close one by one, when I come back ! Basically, all these error windows do more harm than good : 1) they interrupt my work randomly 2) I can't do anything about the problem anyway, and can only click the "ok" button t make it go away 3) the problem is always temporary, and if I update manually, the problem has already cured itself. This is the way I would expect RB to behave: - When set for automatic downloads : never require user input, no pop up messages. If an error occurs, just try again 5 minutes later, most of the time it will suffice. The error should on ly be notified by an "error" icon in nex to the podcast (as is already the case), and cleared once the problem is gone. Addictionnaly, if RB deems it worthwhile to inform the user of an error, it can just use the notification area, using a bubble. This way the user can see the information, but is not too disturbed by it. - Pop messages should only be used when the user operates RB manually. ** Affects: eog (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Podcast: automatic download should not require user intervention. https://launchpad.net/bugs/73128 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

"People who want that usually just use the spatial mode" That's correct. But it would be good to have a way to use spatial even if browser is default. "The option you want to drop is useful for opening a new nautilus window with browser mode (to dnd from one to the other then by example)" Not really. I should have made this clear earlier, but the behaviour I'm complaining about takes place only on the desktop. Look at the screenshots: http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/4278/1hs5.png Image from the desktop. Both menu entries do the same - open a folder in browser mode. [Bug 60277] Re: Windows Network entries use a text icon instead of a computer one
I have tested the gnome-vfs2 (2.16.2-0ubuntu1) package on edgy and it really fix this issue. - Allow operations on file handles that were created in another DaemonConnection. (This fixes e.g. smb browsing) (Ubuntu: #60277) Thanks -- Windows Network entries use a text icon instead of a computer one https://launchpad.net/bugs/60277 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

It's image 1 I have a problem with. the first one is "open with current mode", the other one is "open with browser". They do the same when using the browser mode right. Not sure if that would be better to break the menu consistancy by changing the item though. That's a minor point and should probably be mentioned upstream -- should allow to open a spatial window from the browser mode https://launchpad.net/bugs/73117 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Re: [Bug 66355] Re: gpilotd locks up my Palm Z22
Dear Matt, thanks a lot for your great help. I now did as you said and installed the gnome-pilot in /temp/gp. Unfortunately, I now have the problem that the daemon obviously cannot be registered (see below). Sorry for bothering you again but I really do not have any clue what happens. Again, thanks a lot. Philipp I have attached the entire output of the compiling, make ans make install process.
