[Bug 103256] Re: [apport] evolution-2.10 crashed with SIGSEGV in g_object_get_data()

2007-04-09 Thread Herbert V. Riedel
yes, printing works better---no segfaults so far :-)

but is it only me, or did evolution/gnomeprint lose the ability to print
landscape calendar views? it did work in edgy and dapper, but with
feisty I don't see the orientation option anymore anywhere in the print
dialog... :-/

[Bug 70666] Re: Messed up page settings when printing a calendar

2007-04-09 Thread Herbert V. Riedel
Iirc I could workaround by printing it to pdf, and then feeding that
directly to cups (via xpp or plain lp) and telling the paper
orientation...

alas I can't test it anymore, since I installed feisty whose evolution
doesn't seem to have the ability to print landscape calendars at all...

[Bug 104768] Re: "Show hidden files and folders" preference requires restart

2007-04-09 Thread Kristian Hermansen
Thanks for your bug report.

Actually, I notice that toggling the Preferences option for hidden files
on/off always requires a re-launch of nautilus to take effect, not
necessarily only when enabling hidden files. It is interesting to note
that the shortcut ctrl-h updates the listing immediately. This should
be the behavior of using Preferences as well, I suppose. The workaround
is to use ctrl-h until it is fixed.

[Bug 105025] Extra separator in System menu

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

The gnome-panel 2.18.0-0ubuntu3 System menu includes a separator between
the "Help and Support" and "About GNOME" entries. There's no separator
in this case in upstream GNOME, and I think there shouldn't be one here

Quit...

[Bug 18780] Re: Browser: tree view rendering problem

2007-04-09 Thread Wladston Viana
Sebastian,

I have read the discussion.

I think this issue DO matter. It's not that it can be confusing - it
just could be made better and more good looking

Why not simply don't render the little triangle on the folders that
doesn't contain any subfolder ?

It's more natural, and the user doesn't need to click the arrow to find
out that a folder has no subfolders - just the lack of the triangle
would tell it.

If the objective is to signal to the user that the folder is empty, one
could just write next to it (empty folder) in italics, or place a
special open-and-empty folder.

Please, tell me what you think.

[Bug 103095] Re: crash on IRM escape code

2007-04-09 Thread Sebastien Bacher
This upload fixes the bug:

 vte (1:0.16.1-0ubuntu1) feisty; urgency=low
 .
   * New upstream version:
 - Lots of bug fixes by Chris Wilson
 - New feature: mouse scroll-wheel now feeds three arrow-up/down keys to the
terminal if in the "alternate" mode. The alternate mode is used by apps
like vim, less, emacs, screen, etc. This makes the scroll-wheel usable
in a state that it was of no use before.
 - Bugs fixed in this release:
   - vte often passes NUL to functions requiring valid unichar
   - Links do not get highlighted anymore
   - URL matching doesn't work with PCRE
   - crash on IRM escape code (Ubuntu: #103095)
   - Make scroll wheel send Page Up/Down when it makes sense
   - vte_terminal_set_color_highlight should test for
 NULL before _vte_debug_print
   - vte appears at the top of the root window even when
packed at the bottom of it
   - glyph can be cropped with not fitting in a cell
   - Does not handle expose events whilst processing unseen incoming data
   - Improve performance of vte_terminal_insert_char()
   - Opacity ignored for vtexft
   - Asymmetric scrolling with mouse wheel
   - Rendering glitch as autowrapped chars are outside invalidated bbox
   - Rendering glitch: double draw of line below exposed region
   - Invalid read when drawing preedit cursor
   - Scrolling bug exposed by nvi
   * debian/patches/80_changes_for_python_vte_dbg.patch:
 - updated
   * debian/rules:
 - update translations template

[Bug 104996] dasher cannot write text directly into another window

2007-04-09 Thread Ramin Nakisa
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: dasher

Section 4.4 of the help that comes with version 4.4.0 in feisty package
4.4.0-0ubuntu1 says:

You can also have whatever is written in Dasher be directly beamed to another
window.
Enable the `send text to other window' option under the options menu.
Then the window that
you select will get Dasher's output.

I can't seem to get this to work. And there's no such option in the
options menus.

[Bug 59400] Re: Screen saver running in sessions that are not in control of monitor

2007-04-09 Thread Micah Cowan
Hm. I believe this is so that when the second user's session ends, the
first user, when his X session is made the current one, will be required
to log in. I agree that it would be beneficial to prevent the
screensaver from actually using up CPU unless it's the currently visible
one, but I think the fix for this is likely to be far from trivial.

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem-gstreamer

Any video that is opened with totem-gstreamer, if it's colorspace is YUV (i.e.
XviD video)
has the chroma components (UV) swapped, i.e. red is appearing as blue and blue
is appearing
as red.
This problem also occured in Ubuntu 6.10.

I have an ATI X1650, a fresh install of Ubuntu Feisty with additional codecs
auto-installed by
totem-gstreamer, and the ATI driver was auto-installed too using the restricted
drivers manager.

Re: [Bug 95740] Re: deskbar reported bug when config. was changed.

2007-04-09 Thread goo
It says this exactly:
It probably isn't fatal, but should be reported to the developers
nonetheless. The program may behave erratically from now on.

[Bug 104983] Location bar togglebutton does not toggle on Ctrl + L or Go -> Location

2007-04-09 Thread Tumi Steingrímsson
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Nautilus 2.18.0.1 on Ubuntu feisty beta

1. Open up nautilus in browser mode
2. Click Ctrl + L or navigate through the menu: Go -> Location

the togglebutton must be pressed twice to go back to normal button-based

[Bug 102508] (auto)login failed after upgrade feistyfawn herd5 to 7.04

2007-04-09 Thread maarten
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I did a clean install of feistyfawn herd 5 a few days ago,
I went to the securety and put the autologin on and it worked fine.
I tried to dissable the passwordmanager (keyring) by modifying the gdm file,
but it didn't work.
Today the updatemanger said there was a update to 7.04, so I did that.
During the installation I got the question if I want to keep the modified gdm
file, I choose to use the one from the installer.
After the installation I did a reboot.
Now I get the loginscreen, but because iI had the autologin option on it tries
to login and then say authentication failed.
The only option is to press ok after I get the same message again.

I'm no expert and can't repair it with recoverymode (just don't know how, so I
wil do a new install)
Hopefully I'm the only one with this problem.
