[Bug 102408] Re: Evince opens ALSA library

2007-04-10 Thread Ulrich Hobelmann
This was Ubuntu 6.10. It was only that one time that my sound device
couldn't be opened (I think some non-Ubuntu app was accessing the device
directly and blocked it), so I don't know where else it might happen.

[Bug 84931] Re: Various icons don't have a 16x16 icon size

2007-04-10 Thread VF
Yes, I think that's all.

However (and I'm not sure if I should file a seperate bug for this or
not), the new 16x16 icons appear to be just resized while the old 16x16
icons seem to be manually tweaked so they look good at such a low
resolution. You can see this if you right click in nautilus, the 'Create
folder' and 'create document' icons look different, the star/asterisk
part, that is.

[Bug 102220] Re: totem hangs playing movie with external subs(idx/sub)

2007-04-10 Thread ccc1
Happens with every movie that has subs in the sub/idx format. these subs
consists of two files: a .sub and an .idx file. A rip made with dvd-rip
outputs this format for example.

Other subtitle formats like .sub or .srt work fine with totem-gstreamer.
Didn't get any error when i ran totem from the command line. totem just hangs
and it has to be killed ...

[Bug 105370] [apport] gaim crashed with SIGSEGV in realloc()

2007-04-10 Thread Michael Trausch
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gaim

There seem to be a lot of problems with this software. I know that I
have submitted a problem in the past myself, but this one seems
different. It crashes far more frequently than on my laptop (the
difference being that the laptop is a uniprocessor 32-bit system, and
this is a dual-core AMD64 system). Usually, it seems to crash right
after I receive notification that someone has signed on, which comes
through gaim-festival and gaim-libnotify.

OTOH, it does not happen *every* time this happens, but when it does
happen, it seems to happen within 10 seconds of the notification being
issued, reasonably predictably. I cannot go through all of the GAIM
bugs to figure out which is what, but I have the feeling that whoever is
flagging those issues will know if this is truly a dup or not. If it
is, sorry for the dup bug.

[Bug 103896] Re: Poor print formatting in Evolution

2007-04-10 Thread Greg Schneider
Nobody has this problem? I tried deleting the printer, making sure
/etc/papersizes was set to letter, also set to default to letter in the
printer properties plus then reinstalled the printer, but the same thing
is happening. The strange thing is that it is also happening in print
preview.

[Bug 105152] Re: Can't get a simple list in nautilus

2007-04-10 Thread adam0509
Hi !!! :)

The type of list that you can see here :

http://thunar.xfce.org/images/filewindow-6.png (right window).

It's very annoying, I love that view (and I'm sure I'm not the only
one), cause it allows to see lots of file, and to use the mouse to
select file. I admit it's a bit "windows-like", but it don't cost any
thing after all, and if it can help to make switch some people :) :).

Thank you in advance !!

[Bug 35154] Computer resuspends after resuming from suspend

2007-04-10 Thread Caspian
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

When I resume my computer from suspend, it comes up for a brief moment,
but then goes back into suspend. If I bring it up one more time,
however, it'll stay up. (Nothing is sent to the screen before going back
into suspend)

I'm using a laptop -- Toshiba Tecra M2.

Below is from my kernel logs -- this is starting with the first time I
resume from suspend, and ending with when the computer puts itself back
into suspend.

[Bug 105221] Re: Wishlist: Drivers for more webcams/hardware + auto-suggest driver for attached hardware

2007-04-10 Thread chris_van_ackeren
I think this would be a good idea. With iPods and external hard/thumb
drives we get an icon on the desktop among other things to let us know
that they were detected and mounted without error. With webcams and
other USB devices, we don't get any status update or anything. Just
have to check Ekiga or some other video capture program to see if it's
working correctly.

A nice little icon in the status bar for detecting new USB device maybe?
Some kind of indication things are working correctly.

[Bug 105203] Re: [apport] gnome-panel crashed with SIGSEGV in strcmp()

2007-04-10 Thread Oliver König
ay i tried to reproduce the "bug" by reinstalling the mentioned gnome
theme .deb package. The Reinstallation went well this time with no
system halt or other problems. The theme works so far with no visible
graphic bugs or else.

I did a memory check (3 passes) with the built-in memory checkup tool
(available on the GRUB menu) with no errors.

You asked me obtain the backtrace package so i tried to install the
yelp-dbgsys as it is described on the backtrace wikipage from ubuntu
wiki but i couldnt install the package (synaptic notifies me that it
cannot resolve the dependencies)

Error message of Synaptic:
"yelp (=2.18.1-0ubuntu1)«, aber es wird »2.18.0-0ubuntu4« installiert. "

So sadly i cannot do a backtrace at the moment, but i will investigate this
problem further if that bug happens again.

Thanks for your help

Regards.

Oliver aka chesmond.

Just wondering how I can run valgrind with gnome-panel. The gnome-panel

[Bug 104687] Re: [apport] perl crashed with SIGSEGV in wnck_screen_get_default()

2007-04-10 Thread Michael Robinson
Note that this is a very low priority bug, and probably should be for
upstream; the program is incorrect in how it uses the API, and should
throw an error regardless (no initialization of Gtk2 has been done). A
core dump does seem to be a bit severe, however.
