[Bug 112544] Click on next or previous email do not work well
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution Hello, I am using Evolution 2.10.1 under Ubuntu Festy Faon. When I click on the button suivant or précédent (French user! ) (that is next or previous ) while reading an email, I don't get the next or previous email of my current list sorted per day or per name, whatever else. It seems that the next or previous email I get is the next or previous that has been loaded in the database. For instance, the first email loaded is the welcoming one coming from Evolution itself when you launched it for the first time. when I open this email, the previous button is shaded, the next button is active whatever the kind of sort used. The same for the last message I got but the previous button is active, the next button is inactive. About sorting par date, it don't work because I loaded the database of Evolution with several counts and repertories coming from outlook. Then, the order of the loading is not the order of the date of the messages (huh ? I am not very clear, isn't it ? Sorry for my approximate English). [Bug 112575] gedit does not save to a new file if other program changed the file
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gedit If a text file is open in gedit, and that text file has been altered by another program (e.g. a search and replace program), then gedit can load the new content, or keep the current content. In both ways some valueable changes to the text could be thrown away. So I decided to save the content of the gedit editor to a new file, so I can compare them with a diff program like kdiff3. But saving in such a situation is not possible, and no error messages is shown either. Test: 1. Create a text file with some text, close gedit. 2. Open the text file with gedit, leave it as it is, or make some changes. 3. Open the same text file with another program (mc, mousepad, etc.), and make some changes in it and save it. 4. Select the gedit window, a yellow bar is shown that something has chanched. 5. Try to save the content of gedit to a new file with different name or the same name in a other folder, or create in the save as.. box a new folder and save it there. 6. [Bug 19101] Re: nautilus's clever anti-hax0r detection is really dumb
I had the same problems after a recent upgrade from Dapper 6.06LTS to Edgy 6.10. It particularly affected HTML and XML files which I noticed first in yelp - it opened these files in gedit. I also had similar problems with icons like bug 41772. With .tar.gz archives I also got the message No application suitable for automatic installation is available for handling this kind of file. The steps below fixed all these problems for me:- It did not seem to be necessary to move or rename ~/.local/share/applications/mimeinfo.cache as reported by jefight for 7.04. I did actually do that first, but when I restored it again after step 3 below, the problems remain fixed. 1. sudo update-mime-database /usr/share/mime 2. sudo dpkg-reconfigure shared-mime-info 3. $ killall gnome-panel $ killall nautilus Haz -- nautilus's clever anti-hax0r detection is really dumb https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/19101 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I had similar, but not identical symptoms after a recent upgrade of Dapper 6.06LTS to Edgy 6.10. Nautilus would not show me any icon images as an ordinary user, only as root. [Bug 112670] Serpentine recognizes files based off of file extension
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: serpentine Some time ago I removed all file extensions from all of my media. So now all of my Audio files take the naming format Artist : Song : Additional Details, which I've found works great for me under most of the applications in Ubuntu. All of the media is in Ogg Vorbis format. In serpentine I do hit some bumps with this. If I find my media files in nautilus and drag and drop them into Serpentine everything works great. The bug occurs when I try to add files in Serpentine. If I navigate to one of my directories I can't see any of my media. It doesn't appear to matter which filter I select.
