[Bug 115846] "Reset formatting" should be a toggle

2007-05-21 Thread Endolith
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Binary package hint: gaim

When you paste text from a website or whatever, which is in a different
font style, subsequent messages remain in the same style. I have
*never* ever wanted this. Invariably, I send a few more messages with
the "stolen" font, realize it's been changed, and use the Reset
formatting button to clear it. From my perspective, this button
shouldn't even exist, and the default functionality should be to reset
the formatting after each message is sent. But I'm sure some people use
it for something, so the button should behave as a toggle:

* In the default configuration, it resets formatting after each message is sent.
* In the toggled configuration, it keeps formatting from one message to the
next.

[Bug 115940] AAC encoding doesen't work well

2007-05-21 Thread faithful
Public bug reported:

If I try to rip a CD from Sound Juicer in AAC format all the songs will be
damaged by 1 sec of silence every 1 sec of music.
This problem doesn't occour if I rip the cd with cdparanoia and then encode
with faac. I think the prolem is in GStreaemer.
I use a USB DVD ROM to rip my own original CD wich are in optimal contidion (no
damage at all). I tested and verified this problem on every CD that I have. OGG
encoding works well but I must use AAC.

[Bug 115944] Volume control applet icon does not update

2007-05-21 Thread Dean Sas
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-media

Using gnome-applets 2.18.0-3ubuntu5 on gutsy

If I change the volume using the applet slider then the icon isn't
changed (to mute, speaker with 1 bar, 2 bars etc) and the tooltip isn't
changed.

If i remove the applet, and re-add it then the icon is correct, however
it then still doesn't update when further changed.

The context menu item for mute/unmute does change the icon, when the
volume is not already muted.

Maybe this is related to 20_mixer-applet_use_gstreamer_notify.patch

[Bug 115949] »Secure Connection« settings in account editor not user-friendly

2007-05-21 Thread Daniel Werner
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

The account editor offers a »Use Secure Connection« option for sending
as well as receiving mail. However, the order in which the items appear
in the drop-down list does nothing to clarify which one should be
preferred: »No encryption«, »TLS encryption«, »SSL encryption«. I
suggest re-ordering the list by descending level of security provided,
i.e. TLS, SSL, no encryption.

The default value is another matter: Currently, no encryption is
provided unless it is expressly selected, which requires the prior user
knowledge of the server's encryption capabilities. It should be possible
to »check for supported types« as is currently possible with
Authentication Types.

I would be grateful for some opinions on this matter, especially since
I'm not a security expert.

[Bug 115969] drag to queue causes crash

2007-05-21 Thread robb
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

When I dragged a mp3 file from the file browser to the rbox play queue area,
suddenly the existing items in the queue were replaced by previously
played/removed items from the previous day (really).
Attempting to remove one of these items (click right -> remove) crashed rbox.

[Bug 115983] Glade 3.2.0 does not include GtkToolButton widget in palette

2007-05-21 Thread jmblasco
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: glade-3

I can not find the GtkToolButton and GtkToggleToolButton in the widgets palette.
I have to use the 2.1 windows version to build a new tool bar. But curiosly it
handles well the file created with 2.1 version that includes the mentioned
widgets.
¿something missing in compilation?
