2007-06-05 Thread Dennis Dirdjaja
Hi Stephen,

did the sound system work, e.g. did you hear the login sound? Probably
there is a kind of sound played by AOL when you log in to their mail
application (e.g. when there is new mail for you). Can you confirm that?

Sorry for asking so much questions :-)

[Bug 112002] Re: Wrong url for the online search.

2007-06-05 Thread Matthew Paul Thomas
There seem to be two bugs confused here: that search.ubuntu.com is down
(which I reported as bug 118730), and that the requested URL contains
6.10 instead of 7.04 or gutsy (which I reported as bug 118731).

If this bug report is about the former, bug 118731 should not have been
marked as a duplicate. If it is about the latter, it should be assigned
not to Matthew Nuzum, but to someone on the desktop team.

[Bug 118745] default desktop/panel menu font sizes too small

2007-06-05 Thread Martin Pitt
Public bug reported:

since gutsy, font sizes are too small.

Jun 01 14:06:38 seb128pitti: in case fonts turn to be too small
(which happened to several people after upgrade) you might want to modify
libgnome schemas to change Sans
10 to 11
Jun 01 14:07:02 pitti seb128: do we have a bug about it?
Jun 01 14:07:06 seb128just edit debian/libgnome2-common.gconf-defaults
Jun 01 14:07:29 seb128pitti: I think so, let me look
Jun 01 14:08:21 pitti seb128: if that affects everyone, we should milestone it
Jun 01 14:08:33 seb128well, not easy to know
Jun 01 14:08:49 pitti well, but that only affects upgrades anyway, right?
Jun 01 14:08:50 seb128gnome-settings-daemon uses the screen DPI now
Jun 01 14:09:12 pitti if it affects fresh installs, too, then we should do
something about it
Jun 01 14:09:15 seb128but I'm not sure if that means we should change
the default or if the fonts are only too small when xorg is not correctly
configured or something
Jun 01 14:09:28 pitti ok, let's look into that during CD testing
Jun 01 14:10:15 seb128right, that was my point
Jun 01 14:10:39 seb128if that happens on desktop CD and you want to
workaround it just modify libgnome debian/libgnome2-common.gconf-defaults to
change the default deskto
p font

Hope this helps.

[Bug 95853] Re: Delete file in Nautlus - no warning

2007-06-05 Thread Szabolcs Szakacsits
That's interesting because quite many NTFS-3G users complain to us
developers about Nautilus moving deleted files to the .Trash-username'
directory in the root of the NTFS volume they are not aware of:
http://www.ntfs-3g.org/support.html#diskspace

Given that many people are confused in either case, a reasonable default
behavior seems to be

- asking for confirmation
- checkbox if the files should be permanently removed or moved to a
__specified__ trashbin
- potentially a checkbox if user wants the same confirmation windows in the
future

Would be nice if they would look if they can work-around or at least
give a light evaluation. Mozilla has no dupe reports: neither in
bugzilla nor in talkback ... so it has something to do with the
special way epiphany uses gecko.

I would suggest trying the gutsy version of rhythmbox to see if it fixes

install build-essentials, dh-make, debhelper, devscripts, fakeroot

Download these two files:

[Bug 80343] Re: invisible logout dialog with xcompmgr

gnome-session 2.19.3 has the changelog entry:

Strode, Bastien Nocera)

I don't know if this will solve this bug - hopefully it will :). If
anyone can test it, it's packaged and waiting to be uploaded when the
freeze ends. Otherwise, you can download it using:

can afford our justice. You all have helped me in ways beyond my ability
to tell. I'm sorry for all the trouble I caused by not takiing the time
to learn the system so I could help myself. But good has come of it.
Finally, if anyone knows of any job chances for me, I'm greatly in need
of some independence. [EMAIL PROTECTED] That's it. Thank you all
so very much.

Laurie Oh, please don't anyone write this story. It's mine. Might not
write it for publication, but I might also. Bye
