[Bug 105392] Re: Evolution Mail Handling w. Virtual Folders
@Ralf: The Mark all Read dialog is misleading: it actually *always* mark as read -- either the current folder only, if you select ne pas marquer comme lu, or the current folder and subfolders otherwise. In other words: the dialog, if *either* option is selected, will mark as read some emails. To compound the misery of misleading selections, if you select Marquer tous les messages... ... it will check, for each (sub) folder, if it is a virtual folder. If it is, *nothing* is done. This test is not performed if you select ne pas..., so it will mark the messages in the autres courriels virtual folder. Keep in mind that all folders under the search folder are virtual. You can check on it by creating standard folders and subfolders under it, copying some emails there, marking them as unread, and trying it there. So... the options are *NOT* inverted. It is just the way the two issues above combine that makes it look so. I will propose a patch upstream on this. -- Evolution Mail Handling w. [Bug 118745] Re: Font sizes in Gutsy are vulnerable to bad X.org DPI detection
Hello Patrice How did you sett he DPI for your system? For my 17 TFT monitor, I set screen size and hence DPI in xorg.conf like: Section Monitor Identifier Generic Monitor Option DPMS HorizSync 30-65 VertRefresh 50-75 DisplaySize 340 270 EndSection However, Bryce Harrington has been making excellent progress with bullet proof X, which should autodetect all relevant settings, which could ultimately eliminate the need for xorg.conf on most machines. I installed Ubuntu Gutsy T2 on a 2.5 hard drive, deleted xorg.conf then swapped it between 8 very different laptops. On all systems, I had a screen which was potentially usable to at least install the system and manually configure the resolution etc (once the front end will accommodate higher than fall-back settings in fall-back situations). I have logged info from these laptops including lspci -v, xorg.0.log, /proc/bus, dmesg, lsmod. libwnck (2.19.5-0ubuntu1) gutsy; urgency=low . * New upstream version: Features - Install wnckprop utility - Add tooltips for workspaces in the pager - New wnck_screen_get_workspaces() API - New wnck_workspace_get_layout_row(), wnck_workspace_get_layout_column() and wnck_workspace_get_neighbor() API, to get layout information about a workspace (Vincent) - New wnck_workspace_get_screen() API - New wnck_window_is_below(), wnck_window_make_below() and wnck_window_unmake_below() API Deprecations - Deprecate wnck_screen_get_workspace_index(). wnck_workspace_get_number() should be used - Deprecate wnck_screen_calc_workspace_layout(), wnck_screen_free_workspace_layout() and WnckWorkspaceLayout - Deprecate wnck_screen_get_workspace_neighbor(). wnck_workspace_get_neighbor() should be used - Deprecate wnck_tasklist_set_minimum_width(), wnck_tasklist_get_minimum_width(), wnck_tasklist_set_minimum_height(), wnck_tasklist_get_minimum_height(). They are useless with the new sizing algorithm Fixes - Improve a bit drawing of the pager - Fix logic when cleaning up after dragging a window from the pager - Use the last allocation of the tasklist as a basis for the fake allocation used to compute the size hints. This gives better results. - Rationalize the using of icon names/names in the tasklist and the pager - Do not put state indicators in the tooltip text of tasklist buttons - Fix compilation of wnckprop - Import minor fixes from the XFCE fork (small leak, and safety checks) - Code cleanups - Use g_type_class_add_private() everywhere - Use GSlice when it makes sense - Probable fix to show windows needing attention not shown in the viewport - Make wnckprop able to change properties of windows and screens - Make wnckprop translatable - Redraw a workspace in the pager when the state of a window changes and is relevant - Stop the glowing effect in the tasklist for urgent windows after a while (LP: #28757) - Add new fade-max-loops to control the number of loops before the glowing effect stops. Makes it possible to nearly disable the effect. - Don't draw dots for group buttons in the tasklist, but use gtk_paint_tab() - Make the glowing effect in the tasklist use cairo. This also makes it work with RGBA. - Makes it possible to drag a window from a grouped task menu of the tasklist - Never group together in the tasklist windows without a class - Add new mode to wnckprop to interact with a workspace - Add new modes to wnckprop to interact with a class group or an application - Improve wnckprop command line arguments - Add some XSync calls where needed in libwnck for wnckprop to work - Make wnckprop use the real X server timestamp when needed - Fix size of buttons in tasklist changing with the text. This should be an important usability improvement. - Fix image of tasklist buttons floating outside of the buttons when buttons are small - Update the window action menu when a workspace is created/destroyed, and when the window has changed workspace Misc - Improve API documentation - Add a --transparent command line for test-tasklist Translators - es, it, ja, nb, si, sv, vi * debian/libwnck22.shlibs: - updated * debian/patches/01_workspaces_tooltips.patch: - dropped, fixed with the new version ** Changed in: libwnck (Ubuntu) Status: Fix Committed = Fix Released -- Window list: minimized windows change size all the time https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/34513 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 16391] Re: Inefficient sizing in window list applet
gnome-panel (1:2.19.5-0ubuntu1) gutsy; urgency=low * New upstream version: Panel - Make changing orientation of an expanded panel work better when dragging the panel - Fix name of launcher created by dropping an URI on the panel (LP: #35919) - Improve handling of size hints from applets. This is needed for the tasklist sizing algorithm to correctly work - Use new icon for recent documents - Save the panel position relatively to the right/bottom edge of the monitor when needed. This fixes a lot of problems, like the panel being at the center of the screen when resizing the screen or when the size of the panel grows. (LP: #39856) - Also do not save the position of the panel in gconf when the position is changed because of constraints. This also fixes a lot of problems, like the panel suddenly snapping to the center or an edge of the screen because its size has changed. - Fix crash when a panel is destroyed whil its context menu is opened - Make it possible to have bigger panels (up to 1/5 the screen size) for people wanting sidebars - Fix a crash in the lockdown checking code - Don't use nautilus-home.desktop for the places menu, but makes the item a real place item - Automatically use the right icon for launchers for $HOME or ~/Desktop - Migrate to GtkTooltip - Code cleanups - Add a detail for theming the arrow in the button widget - Add new _GNOME_PANEL_ACTION_KILL_DIALOG action to the panel action protocol - Use program-name instead of name property for GtkAboutDialog gnome-desktop-item-edit - Use g_option_context_set_translation_domain() All applets - Use gtk_widget_set_tooltip_text() - Use program-name instead of name property for GtkAboutDialog - Fix compilation Clock Applet - Sort completed tasks last, treat unprioritised tasks as normal priority, and fall back on sorting by summary - Add a first version of timezone support. This needs some UI love. Window List Applet - Do not call wnck_screen_force_update(). Fix a crash. - Code cleanups - Fix window list sizing (most of the changes are in libwnck) (LP: #16391) - Deprecate minimum/maximum size settings Workspace Switcher Applet - Code cleanups - Show/hide some of the settings in the properties dialog depending on the window manager, since some of the settings are not saved or don't make sense when metacity is not used. Hi Sebastian You have no idea how embarrassing this is, spent the weekend testing system and forgot I had the video effects switched on. [Bug 48196] Re: gnome-hal fails to handle encrypted HD partition correctly
I'm using Feisty now, and things have changed: - I can mount the partition using pmount (pmount /dev/sda6), and it gets mapped to /media/disk, which makes sense. Still, I have strange behaviour: - just after mounting, I get a graphical message (from nautilus ?) saying that only root can access my disk, which is obviously wrong since I can browse it afterwards - once the disk is mounted, hal (or pmount ??) seems to remember my passphrase (I can click on the disk in the disk mounter utility, select mount, and the disk mounts without passphrase), which is something I do not want at all: I expect that, when umounting the device, the passphrase should not be stored anywhere.
