[Bug 130852] Re: [gutsy] Pidgin 2.1.0 crashes on the freshly updated libc6

2007-08-22 Thread Adrian Penisoara
Found the root cause: I was sharing the .purple configuration directory
between two Ubuntu installations (symlink between homes), Feisty and
Gutsy. When I recreated the Pidgin configuration from scratch in Gutsy,
the crashes stopped reproducing.

In more detail, I found that the accounts.xml file from the Feisty
installation (also Pidgin 2.1.0) would trigger the crash.

[Bug 79399] Re: RACE CONDITION: loading initial page "Ubuntu Help Centre"

2007-08-22 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for the screencast Sven. It looks like you are using feisty,
maybe that's one of the bugs which have been fixed with the switch to
rarian and the yelp changes during the new cycle. It's not easy to test
on my desktop because the pages are loaded quickly, I'll try later on my
laptop with feisty and gutsy

[Bug 77054] Re: mouse clicks do not get through anymore

2007-08-22 Thread Stijn Hoop
Indeed, I can't reproduce this with the Gutsy Tribe 4 live CD &
subsequent install. It's not an exhaustive test though because no
notification bubbles are popping up just after installation (no updates
available for testing I guess). Still I'd say this bug is invalid seeing
as I'm the only one having ever seen this; I'll reopen if I ever run
into it again.

[Bug 134004] Cut - Move to trash - Paste

2007-08-22 Thread arty
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

I had folder 'proto' containing folder 'prototype'. I wanted to move
prototype up a level and remove proto. I cut prototype, went up, deleted
proto and right-clicked empty space. Context menu appeared, showing
_enabled_ item 'Paste'. When I clicked it, menu disappeared and nothing
more happened. When I right-clicked again, 'Paste' was disabled.

I think 'Paste' should only be enabled if file/folder still exists in
same place at the moment of right-click.

[Bug 134006] Rotated JPG-images are not displayed properly rotated in the nautilus thumbnails

2007-08-22 Thread Alexander Menk
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

I took some photos with a Sony DSC-W55 digital still camera and rotated
some of them using the camera's "rotate" function 90 degrees left or
right. That function seems to set just a rotation-value without
rewriting the image. Eye of gnome displays those JPEGs as I see them on
the camera (the rotated way) - but the nautilus previews show the photo
as it was taken.

[Bug 133576] gnome-settings-daemon crashes when loading xmodmap

2007-08-22 Thread Evan Klitzke
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Binary package hint: gnome-session

Gnome (I believe the gnome-session component) will detect the presence
of ~/.xmodmap, and, if it is the first time that file is detected, offer
to load the file and to load it automatically in the future. In Gutsy,
the dialog box to load the .xmodmap file appears briefly, and then all
of the GTK widgets revert back to the gray/square default GTK theme for
a moment or two and then the dialog disappears before the user has a
chance to load the file (and the widgets go back to the correct theme).
By removing
~/.gconf/desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/general/%gconf.xml I can get
the xmodmap dialog to reappear on my next Gnome login, but I still
cannot get the dialog to appear long enough to load the file.

I think the Gnome component responsible to loading this is gnome-
session, but I'm not sure about this. Right now I'm at gnome-session

[Bug 133668] main menu

2007-08-22 Thread ChrisL
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Binary package hint: gnome-main-menu

Go to: System > Preferences > Main Menu
On the left column (Menus), at bottom under System:
- Click and hold Administration
- Move it just a little, like if you were going to drag it somewhere, but only
a few pixels and still within the left column, and then let go of it.
Even if you move it back to where it was, it still disappears from that list
and from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
This may also be caused by moving it in the right column as well.

Problem is fixable by the following solution:
- Edit ~/.config/menus/settings.menu:
- Delete the following section:

Administration
Administration/Administration

Or deleting , and everything inside those tags (if it
differs)

Switching themes (back to me as regular user) the buttons remain confused.
