[Bug 32089] Re: Non-i18n date formatting in Evolution time edit fields

2007-10-15 Thread Aleksander Łukasiewicz
The bug whch I described in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/151697 is still
there 3 days before 7.10 is to be released. It makes Gutsy's default
email/calendar/contact suite USELESS for users of Polish locale
settings. And it will prevent me from upgrading to 7.10 on my production
machine as it's crucial for my work. :(

[Bug 151697] Re: evolution calendar date bug

2007-10-15 Thread Aleksander Łukasiewicz
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 32089 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/32089

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: evolution

This is a new bug in evolution 2.12.0-0ubuntu5 and seems to be similar
  to

  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/32089

, but #32089 relates to previous versions of ubuntu.

It is also similar to bugs reported in gnome bugzilla:

  http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=329356
  http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=205137

, but again these bugs seem to affect much older versions of evolution.

  Bug description:

When creating an appointment in evolution calendar two error messages
pop up saying Incorrect date and An error has been detected while
verifying the proper date: The starting date was incorrect (the
messages are translated from Polish - original messages can be seen in
- the screenshot http://www.laestrygo.pl/zrzutekranu.png) and it is
- impossible to save the appointment.
+ the screenshot http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10003884/zrzutekranu.png)
+ and it is impossible to save the appointment.

The same bug is present in the latest final release of openSUSE 10.3, so
I assume it is an upstream gnome bug.

I also checked if the same problem appears in other language versions of
GNOME environment, but the bug affects only the Polish version. I
verified German, Spanish, US English and British English GNOME
environments of 2.20 version of Gnome and none of them seems to be
  affected by this bug.

The same problem appears when trying to edit or create contacts with
  birthday.

[Bug 152860] contact list doesn't work correct

2007-10-15 Thread hendrikwout
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Bug in Gutsy g3 powerpc:

I've made a contact list with in evolution. But when I reopen the
contact list (with the edit-option), all the e-mailadresses disappear. I
only see the word 'EMAIL' or some other stuff in the contact list
instead. In the contact viewer, I see the words TRUE or FALSE (also
sometimes some other stuff), but no valid e-mailaddresses that I've
added.

[Bug 149484] Re: passive ftp servers does not work

2007-10-15 Thread Buntu
Finally, i found the source of that problem and a workaround:
I have set a proxy server in Preferences Network-Proxy.
This proxy setting is used by nautilus ftp://, but for hosts on
the ignore list, nautilus tries to connect through the proxy too.

For a workaround, i set the proxy for each program separately,
and disabled proxying in Preferences Network-Proxy completely.

[Bug 152879] Nautilus does not warn when deleting read-only files

2007-10-15 Thread Mathias Florian Menzer
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Nautilus deletes files without warning even when they have been marked
read-only (444) or don't read (000). You have to be the owner of the
file to do this. The behavior when using 'rm' on the console is a
warning that the file is write protected. This should be implemented in
Nautilus since at the moment no effective protection against accidental
removal of files is possible.

[Bug 152804] (gutsy) vino does not show everything using blender on a remote desktop

2007-10-15 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Binary package hint: vino

I have two computers running gutsy. When I open a remote session using
vino and vncviewer, I can't see everything correctly in blender, e. g.
the menu isn't shown on the local vncviewer. Or when you want to select
something typing b, the selecting cross isn't shown.

I haven't yet checked if this bug is there when you use (tight)vncserver
and viewer, and whether it is only a problem with gutsy.

Blender is the only application where I have found this kind of bug.

[Bug 152903] navigating 3d desktop wen I use only 3 virtual desktop

2007-10-15 Thread Giovanni Fabbris
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

A little issue in navigating 3d desktop when I set up only 3 virtual desktop.
All thigs go well if I use 4 different desktop.
When I change desktop with ctrl+alt+left or with ctr+alt+right in 3 virtual
desktop mode I can't access the middle desktop.
I can reach only the first and the last desktop.
Instead, if I use ctrl+alt+ drag with left mouse button, all desktops are
reacheable.

2007-10-15 Thread Sergio Zanchetta
I don't want to appear boring, but what is the reason you wouldn't work on

Thanks.

no, we will not work on this in a distribution specific way, it makes
sense to convince upstream if that's something that would really benifit

because carrying non trivial changes in the package creates extra work,
require updating the patch when the code change, makes upstream unhappy
because the software is not the same on different distributions, make
them receive bugs for things they didn't write and we don't have the
manpower to work on that right now anyway
