[Bug 187568] [NEW] [hardy] update-manager ALWAYS sets CPU Scaling to OnDemand

2008-01-31 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Binary package hint: update-manager

I usually set my CPU profile to Conservative or Powersave, using GNOME applet
CPU Frequency Scaling Monitor v2.21.4 (which I've set-ui to root).
Every time I launch update-manager, it set the CPU profile to OnDemand.
This can cause my laptop to over-heat.

[Bug 187568] Re: [hardy] update-manager ALWAYS sets CPU Scaling to OnDemand

2008-01-31 Thread Michael Vogt
Thanks for your bugreport.

That sounds like a problem with the applet or with gnome-power-manager.
update-manager does not change this profile. The only thing it does is
that it sends a org.freedesktop.PowerManagement.Inhibit signal to gnome-
power-manager when it installs updates.

[Bug 187289] Re: Nautilus can't open .desktop files

2008-01-31 Thread Pedro Villavicencio
I understand the report, but that's not the idea of the .desktop files
and the normal users of Ubuntu don't except to have an Open with menu
entry on their launchers, that's too power users and may confuse them.
This isn't an Nautilus Ubuntu task and you may want to fill the bug
upstream at bugzilla.gnome.org since they write the code of Nautilus.

Also, can you try replicating the problem using the same, truncated video clip

[Bug 187439] Re: evolution crashes on senders return reciept request

2008-01-31 Thread Pedro Villavicencio
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or
challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these
instuctions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be
dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch
nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on
the crash report you wish to submit.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

[Bug 185291] Re: No icon for cd image

2008-01-31 Thread Onkar Shinde
The problem persists with latest nautilus (2.21.9x). Do I have to test
this with new user. I doubt I will be able to create new user as I am
running out of space in my /home directory.

By the way even if it works with new user it should still be marked as
regression since current users who upgrade to hardy will be affected. Is
this bug known upstream?

[Bug 140979] Re: The requested URI man:Nautilus(1) is invalid

2008-01-31 Thread Colin Watson
This bug would very likely go away if the NAME header in nautilus(1)
were fixed. It currently reads:

.SH NAME
Nautilus \- the GNOME File Manager

... and should instead read:

.SH NAME
nautilus \- the GNOME File Manager

(The first bit of the NAME header should match the file name of the
manual page.)

[Bug 187645] [NEW] Evolution calendar consumes 100% CPU with mouse-over info

2008-01-31 Thread ThomasNovin
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

If I in my Evolution Calendar create a long appointment, for example 9
hours long, and then slowly drag my mouse over it (and get the blue
popup box with more information) my CPU usage increases to 100% on one
of the CPUs!

This is always reproducible and makes the system incredibly slow,
Evolution is almost unusable.

See attachment for screenshot. Not a very good one, usually I can get it
to be maybe 50 blue info boxes but it was hard to capture on a
screenshot.

[Bug 174226] Re: nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in free()
