[Bug 190383] [NEW] last.fm plugin no longer scrobbles
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox Up until about the start of this week, the last.fm plugin would correctly send track details, however now it doesn't on either of my computers. It just claims 'Track submission failed too many times'. If I delete the submission cache, it'll work for a while, however the 'queued' track number just increases, as if it encountered an error, and eventually it stops trying. I had a look (with wireshark) at what was going over the wire, and it all looked correct, with last.fm returning an 'OK' response, however rhythmbox still doesn't realise it succeeded. My guess is that the response from last.fm has changed slightly and rhythmbox isn't understanding it any more (although it still seems to be in keeping with the protocol). This is Rhythmbox 0.11.2 on gutsy, both AMD64 and x86. ** Affects: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- last.fm plugin no longer scrobbles https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/190383 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for rhythmbox in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 190366] [NEW] Nautilus does not identify partitions, except by size
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus In "my computer" I have a large number of hdd partitions, many of them the same size. As the name of the partition (in nautilus) contains only the size, this means that many have the same name. In the details view the type is listed as unknown, however the type of the partitions could be retrieved from e.g. 'mount' or fdisk. Also I cannot right click the partitions and get details such as which device the partition is on. This makes it hard to tell which partition is which. This is on Hardy (alpha liveCD) with nautilus 1:2.21.90-0ubuntu1 I would expect nautilus to: 1) give a different name to each partition 2) make it easy to get detailed info on the partition (such as device name) 3) give extra information in detailed view over icon view. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Nautilus does not identify partitions, except by size https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/190366 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 176735] Re: wrong glyphs
I'm a little surprised you are asking for clarification... this problem has been around in Poppler across many versions, and the whole document looks terrible. Are you really having trouble finding problems? I'm using Ubuntu 7.10 with all updates. I'm using the 0.6-0ubuntu2.1 version of the libpoppler2 package. The fonts are all poorly spaced in the linked document. The last character on the first line should be an asterisk rather than a box. The characters after "Robinson" and "Verdier" in the second line should be "1" and "2" rather "x" and "y". [Bug 186650] [NEW] [Gutsy] font size suddenly shrinks for each new window
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Occasionally, newly opened windows start to have very tiny fonts. From that moment on, each newly started program will have small fonts that are very difficult to read. Previously running programs (i.e. windows that have been open since before the anomaly appeared) are uneffected. Restarting X restores everything to normal. Could not find a way to predictably reproduce the bug. Could not spot any similar bugs on Launchpad. Notable observations: * K menu, panel, taskbar etc. unaffected, since it has been running long before the anomaly occurred * the 'tiny' fonts appearing in various windows are not even the same size * the customly rendered document area of OpenOffice.Org is unaffected; menus etc. affected * new tabs in previously running akregator are NOT affected; new tabs of previously running firefox ARE affected * message body area of previously running Thunderbird IS affected, while menus, etc. are not * i'm writing this report in firefox, using ctrl+mousewheel to magnify document area fonts back to normal (menus are still illegible) * it IS possible to restore normal font sizes by manually setting them (e.g. in kcontrol) to size 14 or so (they appear to have been set to size 9) Possible culprit: Totem (2.20), I recall running it every time the bug occurred, and I do not usually do that. Using Ubuntu Gutsy, with kubuntu-desktop installed, running the KDE environment. Logs, screenshot coming up. Notice for me the grey text is totally invisible in the photo, lighter than the text on the page underneath the one I'm photographing!! some words (italics) are unreadable because they are so blurry. Looking close to the output it looks like the text is dithered, no hard edges, no stark black, no edge. The printer is set to 600dpi, so I should be seeing crisp glyphs, not blurry half-tone. To fix this problem, you can set in /etc/environment : LANG="en_CA.UTF-8" Of course, add your own language/country code. Reboot so the change can take effect. [Bug 190240] [NEW] Rhythmbox podcast reciever fails to download enapsulated data that includes a redirect
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox This appears like it is related to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/64096 as the problem seems to be that Rhythmbox's podcast feed parser isn't correctly handling redirects that use a question mark (?) in them. The most recent example that I see is in trying to download the Linux News Log podcast using their MP3 feed (http://linux.quicksurf.com/?feed=rss2&cat=78). You'll notice that the download links for the individual files look like this: http://media.techpodcasts.com/linuxnewslog/www.podtrac.com/pts/redirect.mp3?http://audio.quicksurf.com/audiocasts/Linux-News-Log-147-2008-01-29.mp3 The redirect.mp3?http:// in that line appears to be the hangup. Web browsers will download the files fine (though Firefox names the resulting feed redirect.mp3 instead of the actual filename of Linux-News-Log-147-2008-01-29.mp3. That's also a bug that I will be filing. [Bug 185756] Re: Couldn't display "network:///" - Nautilus cannot handle network:locations
The bug tracker is not an user forum to discuss whatever is wrong on your configuration. I'm reading the comments there because I'm working on this package and I'll make sure the issue is fixed for hardy. The bug is marked as triaged and has been sent upstream which means there is no need for other informations there, the goal of the bug tracker is to describe technical issues and get enough informations to work on those so maintainers can fix the bugs, not to have users discussed whatever is not working. There has been 8 comments added there since the bug has been set to triaged with the upstream url, which means 8 mails have been sent to people who receive already some thousand of those a week, there is no need for that, that's only making the job harder. Now if you find other issue and want to share those that's good, look at the bug list to know if there is already a bug about that and open a new one if there is none yet. The issues about obex, font, ftp are already known for example -- Couldn't display "network:///" - Nautilus cannot handle network:locations https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/185756 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
