[Bug 209972] [NEW] Can't call with ekiga and let another application using sound card (like banshee) open

2008-03-31 Thread Nicolas DERIVE
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ekiga

In latest ekiga 2.0.12-0ubuntu1, in Hardy, I can't phone when another
application (like aMsn, banshee, rhythmbox, firefox flash plugin...) is
using sound.

I got this error message :
Impossible d'ouvrir un canal audio pour la réception audio

Une erreur est survenue lors de la lecture à partir de la carte son pour la
réception audio. Vérifiez que la carte son n'est pas occupée et que votre
pilote audio prend en charge le full-duplex.
La réception audio a été désactivée.

Saying that the sound card may be busy or doesn't use full-duplex. But I
can listen to music with banshee, and I got system sounds and flash
animations sounds in firefox though... It's annoying because each time I
call, I have to close all the other apps which could emit sound. This
problems occurs when all I get called by someone too, whereas other apps
are closed, and doesn't occur in the same conditions if I call the same
contact.

[Bug 209878] [NEW] Not good the way Advanced Desktop Efects works

2008-03-31 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 Beta full patched.

Please, the fourth option in Appearance in order to activate the
Advanced Desktop Effects is needed badly.

Right now, you only have the three classical options but when you
deactivate the effects in a way or another, you must go to the new
option in System-- Advanced Desktop Efects and then make a rain of
clicks activating everything you had all over again. In my modest
opinion, this is terrible and tiresome. The best way should be the
fourth option in Appearance remembering everything you did before no
matter the others you choose.

Best Regards.

Turbo.

[Bug 197673] Re: gnome-display-properties should revert change automatically if not acknowledged

2008-03-31 Thread Florent Mertens
Ok, forget my previous implementation idea, i was confused by the big mess
of the upstream tree. There is of course no apply_configuration in g-s-d, it's a
running daemon (damn i'm stupid). So xrandr_capplet talk to it with Xevents.

So i have an other implementation idea. Why not create an xevent for testing
purpose. We would call it _GNOME_RANDR_ATOM_TEST for exemple. It would call
a configuration_apply_stored_test (or configuration_apply_stored(screen,
testfile)
as you want) that would apply a test file.

so apply() in xrandr_capplet would work like that :
configuration_save(,,testfile)
XsendEvent - _GNOME_RANDR_ATOM_TEST message
run_revert_dialog
configuration_save(,,file)

Might be a bit confusion. I may hack a bit on it tomorrow night to see
what i can do with it.

[Bug 203527] Re: Clicking on clock applet hangs gnome-panel

2008-03-31 Thread Matthew Tighe
I think the medium classification for this is too low. This can really
impact your system. If you don't have a terminal window open and no
shortcut to one on the desktop you are effectively locked up. Alt+F2
fails me in this situation, too.

I also had a complete system hang sometime after leaving gnome-panel in
this state without killall -1 gnome-panel, which corrects the problem.

[Bug 210004] [NEW] Excess thousands separators after multiplication

2008-03-31 Thread davidalves
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gcalctool

Using hardy beta with all the latest updates as of 2008-3-31.
gcalctool package version is 5.22.0-0ubuntu2

Steps to reproduce:
1) Open calculator.
2) Enter 50 (five hundred thousand)
3) Turn on thousands separator (Display now properly shows 500,000)
4) Press multiply button
5) Display now improperly shows 5,000,00*, expected 500,000*
6) Enter 100
7) Display now improperly shows 5,000,00*,100, expected 500,000*100
6) Press equals button
7) Display now shows 5,0,0,00,,000, expected 50,000,000

After steps 3 and 4 I assumed that the thousands separator was just
putting a comma after every 3 characters, but I have no idea what's
going on after the multiply. Turning the thousands separator on and off
after the multiply doesn't get rid of the error.

[Bug 203527] Re: Clicking on clock applet hangs gnome-panel

2008-03-31 Thread Matthew Gregg
I would like to see the priority higher as well. I used to frequently
click the clock for a calendar, but now it hangs gnome-panel, each time
I try it. If Hardy plans to ship with the clock enabled on the dock, it
really needs to be fixed.

i can consistently reproduce the issue. If I misconfigured my email

You're right, I don't know it's the same bug-- It is the same error

It happens randomly when switching songs, clicking 'next', usually in

few hundred clicks, but it does occur is casual use.

[Bug 210026] [NEW] transparency slow after geometry change

2008-03-31 Thread jsteinhart
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

I'm using gnome-terminal with transparency under the fglrx driver (ATI
Mobility FireGL V5200) without compiz.

To recreate:
1) I fire up gnome-terminal (with transparency) -- everything's fine.
2) I maximize the terminal window; it takes a long time (more than 1s) to
redraw and CPU is pegged the whole time. Actually, the whole screen hangs
(including e.g. my cpu/mem graphs in gnome panel).
3) Now if I type a command that has lots of output (e.g. dmesg) it takes 5-10s
or more to all get written out in short spurts -- usually this takes 1s on my
system. CPU is pegged.
4) If I switch virtual desktops and switch back to the one with the terminal,
it is also slow (1s+) to redraw that desktop -- same behavior as #2.

Ways to make it not happen:
1) Use compiz. (not an option for me since standby/hibernate then break on my
hardware, due to another, known fglrx bug)
2) Disable/re-enable transparency -- then it's OK even at new size.

[Bug 210080] [NEW] Regression: evince requires two keystrokes to advance beamer slides in presentation mode

2008-03-31 Thread Pausanias
Public bug reported:

In Gutsy, files produced with the latex-beamer package used to work fine
in presentation mode. In a fully updated hardy installation, the files
require two keystrokes to advance each slide, not the one keystroke
that's normal.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Download attached test.pdf
2) Open this using the evince from Gutsy. Only one page down/down arrow/space
is required to advance to the next slide, regardless of presentation mode.
3) Open the same file using the evince from Hardy. In normal mode, the behavior
is as above.
4) However, in presentation mode, two keypresses are required to advance each
slide in hardy's evince.

I've checked with other non-beamer pdf files and the hardy evince displays them
correctly.

[Bug 210081] [NEW] REgression: evince will not launch external applications

2008-03-31 Thread Pausanias
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evince

In gutsy, evince used to be able to launch external helper applications.
In a fully updated hardy, it doesn't seem to do this, at least with the
attached example.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Download test.tar.gz attachment, unpack in a directory, cd to it.
2) Load test.pdf in gutsy's evince. A movie player will launch if you
click on the image on the last page, assuming your system can
 play MOV files.
3) Load test.pdf in hardy's evince. Even though the tooltip says that
evince intends to launch the movie player, it doesn't. However,
the movie can be played just fine using a properly configure totem.

[Bug 210086] [NEW] Mines - misflagging causes nearby mines to explode

2008-03-31 Thread Scott Jackson
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-games

If you place a flag over a square where there is no mine, then nearby
unflagged mines will explode when you click on an adjacent numbered
square.

This bug is in Gnomemine 2.20.1.

The expected behavior is that clicking on a numbered square has no
effect on any nearby mines.

ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: i386

DistroRelease: Ubuntu 7.10

[Bug 210086] Re: Mines - misflagging causes nearby mines to explode

2008-03-31 Thread Scott Jackson
On further inspection, it looks like this is correct behavior. From the
documentation:

To mark a square as having a mine you right-click on it and a
flag is placed there. If you click on a square with a number and
you have placed precisely that number of flags on adjacent
squares then the remaining squares are revealed. If you didn't
mark the mines correctly then an explosion will occur and the game
is over. Squares with no adjacent mines (i.e. blank squares)
have their adjacent squares automatically cleared.

I was unaware of this behavior. My apologies.

[Bug 210090] [NEW] evolution google calendar doesn't work with private calendars

2008-03-31 Thread BrodocK
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

See this bug report for reference
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=502900

The information you need to know:
Description:Ubuntu hardy (development branch)
Release:8.04
evolution:
  Instalado: 2.22.0-0ubuntu2
  Candidato: 2.22.0-0ubuntu2
  Tabela de versão:
 *** 2.22.0-0ubuntu2 0
500 http://espelhos.edugraf.ufsc.br hardy/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

And the bug itself:
Adding a Google Calendar doesn't work.
The only case in which this is false is when you add the very first Calendar
you have when you first use Google Calendars. This is because the plugin that
synchronizes with Google Calendar, tries to access
http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/mylogin@gmail.com/private/full that
points to the Personal Calendar, but, if you try to access UFSC calendar,
it shall use PRIVATE XML Feed, that will look like:
http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/lot_of_characters_and_numbersgroup.calendar.google.com/private-lot_of_characters_and_numbers2/basic

How to solve it:
I can only think in asking the user to go to Google Calendar and copy paste
this link when trying to add a Calendar (instead of Asking the name of it)

This is similar to Bug #173350

a work around given there is:
xmodmap -e clear lock -e add lock = Caps_Lock
