[Bug 223965] Re: Tar lzma nautilus default opening
That's pretty much what I figured. This is not a bug, but a configuration error. Application/x-extension-lzma is not the valid Content-type for a file with an LZMA extension (should be application/x-lzma). Check that you don't have an entry in ~/.local/share/mime/globs for LZMA (and either remove it or comment it out if it exists). Closing this as invalid. I think Sebastien Bacher referred to hardy sru upload (http://launchpadlibrarian.net/13986760/eds.debdiff) posted in bug #204775. I think we can follow the "building from a debdiff guide" (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuPackagingGuide/BuildFromDebdiff) from the wiki documentation of ubuntu. I haven't tested the patch yet (nor I never used .debdiff as I am a new .deb user) but I think the steps are: 1) download build-essential fakeroot devscripts 2) download the source of evolution-data-server package (with its libraries) 3) apply the Bacher patch 4) rebuild the package 5) install the new .deb Backer, can you confirm this? -- Clicking on clock applet hangs gnome-panel https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/203527 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 199960] Re: error starting GNOME Settings Daemon
Hmmm. May be I misspoke. I apologize. Feel free to delete it if it is inappropriate or dublicate. My error may not be exactly as in this bug (sounded just like it when I read it). I do not have xgl installed. The error I get is as belows. There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon. Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not work correctly. The last error message was: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken. Thanks for your patience with my stubborn version of the bug, but now it seems to work fine!! @jasonq: I find the problem irritating as well. FWIW I've found the upstream bug for this problem: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127973 It does not appear that it will be fixed anytime soon. A workaround that I use is to "Show hide buttons" and uncheck "Arrows on hide buttons" so that when hidden there is minimal real estate used, and then hide the panel by clicking on the small left or right "hide" square" to hide it, and click on the square (rectangle?) to unhide it. -- gnome-panel doesn't hide all the way https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/218982 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

It's not quite the same thing, but I had a similiar issue when copying off a CD. Whenever I would insert a new CD, whatever was playing would stop. [Bug 132612] Re: memory leak in evince?
For what it's worth, this is definitely not resolved in Ubuntu Hardy - I had a 300 KB PDF using 900 MB of RAM earlier today. It was an old research artcle that had been scanned in, and although it was OCR'd, Evince was still treating it as an image for memory purposes (although I could copy text out just fine). [Bug 209520] Re: SMB error: Unable to mount location
kalaxy's "trick" does work. I also noticed that, in my case the problem is only displaying the shared folder/drives. Example: smb://3rsys/ in nautilus shows a blank screen, but adding d$ (example of shared drive) or a shared folder name works.. (login window appears and the volume is mounted), without the need of using the "Connect to server" window in "Places" menu.
