[Bug 200337] Re: CD/DVD burning problem in hardy
The reason why its LOW is because being able to burn optical media or read DVDs, or restore your backups from a DVD in Ubuntu is NOT a priority. This is why this problem has existed for several months now and is still set to low. If you want to burn CDs and DVDs and restore your Backup from Data DVDs them maybe Ubuntu is not for you. It's a Hewlett Packard xw4400 workstation. Below are /proc/cpuinfo and `lspci`. If there's something else you need to see, please let me know. Alas, I've installed Red Hat Enterprise Linux Desktop 5 so that I can use this machine without interruption. [Bug 231483] Re: Cannot install f-spot extensions
There's still weird stuff happening. Now, I uninstalled both facebook and zip export. At first, I got two warnings about unloadable assemblies, one for the facebook export dll and one for zip export. With the second uninstall, only one of the two messages appeared. Unfortunately I was puzzled enough to not take any notes, so I don't remember which of the two assemblies failed loading that time. Then, I installed Facebook export again. While installing, though, I got another warning about the Zip (!!) export assembly being unloadable. Remember: I uninstalled Zip export previously! It does neither appear in the Export Menu, nor in the installed Extensions in the Extension Manager. Facebook export works since. (Previously, f-spot crashed when I selected it from the Export menu) So I tried to continue by adding the Zip export add-in as well. The installation gave twice the same error about the zip export assembly (attaching a screen shot). Zip export did not show up in the Export menu afterwards. ** Attachment added: "fspot1.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/15181843/fspot1.log -- Cannot install f-spot extensions https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/231483 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 200337] Re: CD/DVD burning problem in hardy
changing the settings will not really make the bug fixed faster, there is thousand of bugs opened and a very small team to work on those, the issue might be an annoying one but it's not a security bug nor destroy user datas and seems to be specific to some hardware, it might be annoying to you who have one of those though but that doesn't make the bug a priority for the distribution -- CD/DVD burning problem in hardy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/200337 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus-cd-burner in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 238463] Re: URL handling in gnome-terminal
That upstream bug is actually about the URL recognition code catching *too much* text. It looks like the current behavior is "broken as designed" -- since it's difficult (perhaps impossible) to tell the difference between a continued URL and unrelated text on the next line, gnome-terminal only considers the first line's worth as part of the URL. I'd like the opposite behavior (grab text until space or tab), but I can see how it would be reasonable to prefer the current behavior. -- URL handling in gnome-terminal https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/238463 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
