If you follow the description, you'll see the bug it's still here in Ubuntu 8.04 and Nautilus 2.22.3: 1) Create a directory named A 2) Right click on the directory in Nautilus, select Rename and change the name to B, WITHOUT giving enter or clicking elsewhere 3) Now, with the name still editable, double click the directory to open it 4) The address bar in nautilus will show that the directory is still named A BUT: 5) If you do a ls command, instead you'll see the directory is now named B 6) If you click the back button in nautilus you'll see the directory as B This show that at a given time, Nautilus is showing incorrect information and so I call it a bug. -- Glitch renaming directory https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/51124 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 229999] Re: gedit doesnt automatically syntax highlight .f Fortran files
Reopening this bug. In Ubuntu Hardy, just attempt to open a .f files using gedit. It should by default be highlighted in the same way as .for files. On my system I can see that there is no entry in /etc/mime.types for fortran source code. There is text/x-csrc for C code, and text/x-c++src for C++ code and text/x-python for python, so why not for fortran code? I suspect that the problem lies in the lack of a correct mime type categorisation for Fortran code, as this is the system which gedit uses when determining how to syntax-highlight a file. ** Changed in: gedit (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => New -- gedit doesnt automatically syntax highlight .f Fortran files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/22 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I, too, had this problem on my HP 2133 with a Via Chrome driver. I can confirm that fiddling with the visualizations did indeed allow me to play MP3s. [Bug 242873] Re: Evolution won't start after upgrade to Hardy (8.04)
Hm, comparison of strace output on the working and failing systems shows the failing one accessing /usr/local/lib/libsqlite3.so.0 shortly before everything goes wrong. At the same point the working system accesses /usr/lib/libsqlite3.so.0. Moving the /usr/local/ SQLite libraries out of the way seems to fix the problem. I don't know where the SQLite libraries in /usr/local/ came from, but they must have been from a manual installation of something at some time in the past, and I'm guessing they were in some way incompatible with Evolution and were knocking it into a spin. [Bug 243021] Re: rhythmbox doubles the songs in the playlist
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems. http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Thanks! ** Changed in: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low Assignee: (unassigned) => Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs) Status: New => Incomplete -- rhythmbox doubles the songs in the playlist https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/243021 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 237649] Re: [nautilus] Invisible text when renaming files on a dark theme
The theme: Clearlooks! (As you can read in comment 4) Quote: "It's the same if I use Clearlooks as in /usr/share/themes/Clearlooks/." [http://launchpadlibrarian.net/15069185/ClearlooksBildschirmfoto.png] Previously - at the time of reporting -, I was using UbuntuClearlooks, but comment 3 I found out that this was no official theme. So this bug rather be about Clearlooks. How to trigger: 0) Make sure you are using nautilus, Clearlooks and a dark theme with dark and light colors as depicted in the attachement. 1) In nautilus, switch to icon view (if that's how the non-list-view is called in English). 2) Select a file 3) Open the context menu and chose "Rename" In other words: It happens every time you rename any file with nautilus using Clearlooks with dark theme colors except for in nautilus' list view. Expected: The selected part of the file name (before the last dot) is either white or black (or any other color chosen in the appearance settings) with a colored background. The non selected part of the file name is expected to be black (as defined in the settings), since the nautilus window has a white background. Actual result: Since nautilus "seems to think" that its background (window content) is dark (like the rest of the 3d-elements like toolbar, buttons etc.), it choses white as text color for all text. Therefore, only selected text is visible. ** Attachment added: "Bildschirmfoto-Thema anpassen.png" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/15607026/Bildschirmfoto-Thema%20anpassen.png -- [nautilus] Invisible text when renaming files on a dark theme https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/237649 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 184711] Re: network-admin error: The interface does not exist
Jan: >From what I can tell this bug is definitely about network-admin. It seems that gnome-nettool is calling network-admin to configure the interface, but with superuser credentials (gksu), which no longer works in Ubuntu 8.04 since network-admin requires you to use the 'unlock' button. If I run 'gksu network-admin' from the command line, I get the same error (on standard error at the command line, not the GUI error dialog) about looking up session information that I get when I click on the 'configure' button in gnome-nettool. -- network-admin error: The interface does not exist https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/184711 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 230098] Re: Media in 'Places' side bar should have same context menu as in 'Computer'
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 19598 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/19598 The other bug is only regarding the side bar tree view, while this bug is about the places side bar places view. Those are not the same context menus! Therefore, I don't regard this a duplicate of Bug #19598. To see what I mean, open a nautilus window, chose the places view to be shown in the sidebar and right-click one of your devices in the sidebar. Then, chose the tree view in the side bar and repeat the above. You will see two totally different context menus.
