[Bug 249798] [NEW] [Wishlist] Gnome Panel Clock Appplet does not display seconds by default
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel The Gnome Panel Clock Appplet's default is just to display hours and minutes, e.g. as Windows XP does. I believe that the reason it was done that way in Windows was to hide the fact that it occasionally skips seconds as programs saturate the system resources; after enabling seconds with a 3rd-party product you could watch to see if the system was misbehaving (as usual ;) or if it was a full lock-up. In Ubuntu however I've not had the skipping problem (and on the rare occasion that something goes very wrong and the system becomes unresponsive, its a good diagnostic). So, as a wishlist item, please set the default to show the seconds. ** Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [Wishlist] Gnome Panel Clock Appplet does not display seconds by default https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/249798 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-panel in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 249613] Re: rhythmbox crashes when music collection on smb share
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instuctions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. My patch addresses a completely different issue to the bug that was already linked. The bug I was fixing has nothing to do with http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=536614. [Bug 200337] Re: CD/DVD burning problem in hardy
I have recently encountered this problem too after having no problems burning lots of disks. [Bug 249865] [NEW] Firefox 3.0 Totem Web Browser Plugin 2.22.1 does not play audio wav-files completely.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem After installing Totem web Browser Plugin in order to play pronunciation samples at merriam-webster web dictionary I noticed that the audio files are not played completely to the end, but it misses few hundreds of milliseconds at the end. I'm not sure if this happens with short files only. To reproduce the problem open the following link: http://www.merriam-webster.com/cgi-bin/audio.pl?crysta02.wav=crystalline Only [crystal]-part of the word can be heard and not the whole word [crystalline]. [Bug 249873] [NEW] podcasts containing non-audio files handled badly
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox Several of the RSS podcast feeds I listen to, periodically include a video, or pdf file rather than an MP3... Rhythmbox downloads the file, and then says that it failed, I like the fact that it downloads the file, becuase I can see it and watch, or read as required, infact when I sync to my portable player, it can handle both PDF, and video files, so the behaviour is actually good. The problem I see is that these files are shown to have failed to download, and cannot be played from within rhythmbox It would be very useful if rhythmbox could show the files having been downloaded, and possibly show that they are non-audio ideally, attempting to play them would spawn an external player, but simply indicating that the file was infact downloaded, but cannot be played would be a great improvement over simply saying Failed, because retrying will cause the file to be downloaded again, creating a duplicate. [Bug 4472] Re: Junk mail not being identified by spamassassin plugin (daemon is disabled)
I am using Hardy Heron (64 bit) and the bogofilter plugin. The plugin is enabled and the binaries are installed. Despite this, Evolution never tags incoming mail on its own. I run an IMAP server that provides header tagging of all incoming email. It almost unerringly places the correct spam indication in the header of the email. I adjusted Evolution to trust those headers - and it still does not move incoming spam to the Junk folder. Normally, I use procmail to sort tagged messages into suspected and known spam folders. These removes any need to perform these tests using the client. [Bug 249910] [NEW] Perl: escaped characters not recognized after non-plain variables in double-quoted strings and regexes
Public bug reported: Problem Description: Using Perl syntax highlighting, escaped characters like \ and \n are not recognized after using a non-special variable in a double-quoted string. An example: $foo = \$1\; this would put the first capture in a regex between double-quotes. In this example, the first \ is recognized as escaped, but the second is not, thus the double-quote mark after the backslash is treated as the end of the string, and gtksourceview renders the rest of the document as an unterminated string, which is incorrect. The same issue occurs in regular expressions where variables are interpolated.
