[Bug 252817] [NEW] ctrl doesn't work when used in conjunction with shift click for multiple file selection
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Ctrl doesn't perform it's expected role of allowing multiple file selection to occur when used in conjunction with the shift key. For example, when selecting files A, B, C, D, E: If I select files A thru C using: click A, shift+click C, continuing to hold ctrl+click E should allow me to select the rest of the files, however this is not the case. Rather it will only select E, so that A, B, C, E are selected in total. More self-experimentation will show that selection with ctrl+shift result illogical file selection. This is a standard feature in almost every OS I have run across, and I'm not sure if it's just not implemented or if there are key conflicts that cause this not to occur, but a default install of ubuntu should have this enabled. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: and file folder gnome multiple nautilus select -- ctrl doesn't work when used in conjunction with shift click for multiple file selection https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/252817 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 252828] Re: gdmsetup crashes in 8.10
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-control-center http://www.arsgeek.org/2008/05/31/six-annoyances-in-hardy-heron-ubuntu/ reports that it is no longer possible to drag-and-drop themes from a web page into System - Preferences - Appearance (Theme tab), as of Hardy. This appears to be because theme_drag_data_received_cb does g_file_get_path on a GFile constructed on the dragged-and-dropped URI, which only returns non-NULL on local files. Something would need to arrange to actually download the theme if it isn't local. ** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Drag-and-drop theme from web page fails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/252885 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 176544] Re: gnome-power-manager: (user) suspend failed on Toshiba Portege R500
Thanks John, that works here as well. Since you also have a portege R500 - do you have trouble connecting to new WLANs too? I usually need to reboot to connect to a newly configured WLAN (I don't even get an IP with DHCP, despite running ifdown wlan0; ifup wlan0 again and again, but rebooting works), and the System - Administration - Network tool doesn't list the available networks unless I run sudo iwlist wlan0 scan in a terminal window at the same time, and still then they often disappear before I am able to click the one I need. Yes, I am using GNOME. And the behavior used to be for it to grab the focus (or screen as you wrote) but now that has changed. Also, as an addition to the report, I have just tested when using compiz and there is no problem when using compiz. [Bug 231489] Re: gdm crashes on resume if suspended using Fn + Esc
Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding. ** Changed in: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium Assignee: (unassigned) = Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs) Status: New = Invalid -- gdm crashes on resume if suspended using Fn + Esc https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/231489 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 212098] Re: easy file sharing not notifying about logout/login
We should do *something* about this for 8.04.2, whether it be installing libpam-smbpass by default (probably not a great idea) or including UI that asks for the user's password to enable non-anonymous sharing if necessary (seems cleaner).
