[Bug 255148] [NEW] Filenames listed twice after using Location: field in file open dialog

2008-08-05 Thread Alex Riesen
Public bug reported:

For example, try /usr/sharTab/Enter. The names of directories will be
duplicated.
It is always reproducable here in all gnome (gtk?) file open dialogs (I just
tried it in this firefox session).

YES, your right : the gnome-power-manager was not running

Activating it (the gnome-power-manager) solved the bug.

It really seems that this bug is a duplicate of bug 123078 : System -

[Bug 255174] [NEW] F-Spot gallery export does not handle HTTP 417 error correctly

2008-08-05 Thread Andrew Dittes
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: f-spot

When exporting to my web site using the Web Gallery export plugin,
F-Spot connects to the gallery correctly, but times out on the upload
step. The upload starts correctly, but the progress bar only moves a
small amount and then halts. Eventually, the upload will time out.
F-Spot then presents a dialog that says write timed out with the
options Cancel/Skip/Retry, which functions as expected, however
clicking Retry results in the same behavior.

Monitoring the traffic using Wireshark shows the following HTTP headers are
sent by F-Spot:
POST /gallery2/main.php HTTP/1.1

Accept-Charset: utf-8;

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7)
Gecko/20040626 Firefox/0.9.1

Content-Type: multipart/form-data; boundary=e005f089-92ce-4100
-a3fa-edb5d92ca870-

Content-Length: 693249

Expect: 100-continue

Host: example.com
Cookie:
GALLERYSID=6adcbf77d0c53151103ece1eb63543c9;$Path=/gallery2/;$Domain=example.com

g2_form%5bcmd%5d=fetch-albums-pruneg2_form%5bprotocol_version%5d=2.10g2_form%5bcheck_writable%5d=nog2_authToken=03bdadd4d3b9g2_controller=remote.GalleryRemote

The server replies with the following:
417 Expectation Failed

Connection: close

Content-Length: 0

Date: Tue, 05 Aug 2008 18:29:27 GMT

Server: lighttpd/1.4.13

After this point there is no further traffic between F-Spot and the server. The
problem is caused by Lighttpd not supporting the Expect header. Since it does
not support this, Lighttpd correctly responds with 417 Expectation Failed, as
in the HTTP 1.1 specifications (
http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec14.html#sec14.20 ).

I'm not 100% clear on the use of the Expect header, but the Java Gallery
Remote client provided by the Gallery project does not use it.

Expected Behavior:
After receiving the 417 error, F-Spot should retransmit the request without
using the Expect header. Alternatively, the request should not use Expect in
the first place.

This bug should be reproducible for any Gallery hosted on any server
that implements HTTP 1.1 correctly but does not support Expect.

[Bug 29787] Re: Backspace key in GNU Screen not detected correctly

2008-08-05 Thread Sam Briesemeister
I've dropped all the bindkey statements from my .screenrc, as they were
causing other troubles when using other applications (e.g. vim), as
predicted.

I'm now using an alias via .bashrc, so now all 'screen' is translated to
'screen -T $TERM'. This plays a lot nicer, and seems to produce the
desired effect.

[Bug 255186] [NEW] Workspaces aren't consistent with resolution changes

2008-08-05 Thread chickendude
Public bug reported:

Steps to reproduce:

1) Create a desktop with 4 workspaces in a 2x2 grid.
2) Set your resolution to a value larger than your physical monitor. (You will
either have to plug in a different, larger monitor, or add a mode that is
larger than your current physical monitor)
 xrandr --mode 1680x1050
3) Resize some windows into the new space you've created (but cannot see on the
monitor)
4) Set your resolution back to your normal resolution. In my case:
 xrandr --mode 1200x800

Notice how the windows don't move back. Parts of the windows are eating
into the adjacent workspaces.

What SHOULD happen:
Windows should resize so they fit within the new resolution screen (avoiding
the panels!).

Also, a similar problem occurs when you're making resolution larger.
1) Create 2x2 workspace grid.
2) Put a window in each workspace.
3) Set your resolution up to a large resolution
Notice how all four windows eat their way into the first workspace.
They should all segregate themselves into their own respective workspaces.

I wasn't sure whether this problem was with the X-Window system not resizing
things properly or with the GNOME workspaces not adjusting window sizes upon
resolution changes..
