Same thing still happens. Here's how I test. Open two tabs. [Bug 259844] [NEW] Samba share permissions not migrated to Intrepid, not working?
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Binary package hint: samba Before migrating to Intrepid, had a windows share connected, both via /etc/fstab, (as a cifs volume) for use with all apps, and as a Samba share, (with login info stored in the Keyring) for use in Places. In Intrepid, the /etc/fstab version still works, but the Samba share no longer does - i.e. I can see it, can try to connect to it, at which point it shows up on my desktop, (as it did with Hardy - was always a little flukey there, as well - only showed up on my desktop when I actively tried to connect to it rather than all the time) and then prompts me for login credentials to the Windows box. First glitch is that I would have expected the Hardy settings to be migrated over to Intrepid, so it would "just work." 2nd glitch is that when I enter the appropriate credentials, it just keeps bouncing back at me and not connecting, (i.e. as if I had entered incorrect credentials, though I'm almost positive I'm entering the correct ones - only possible weirdness is that the Windows username is 2 words, but have tried with no quotes, single quotes and double quotes, none of which work). ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed -- Samba share permissions not migrated to Intrepid, not working? https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/259844 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

This bug is still happening. I am running a 64 bit install of Ubuntu Hardy, but log in to a Fluxbox window manager (no Gnome Session running). Thanks to Sebastien's instructions on how to get the source and play with it, I managed to fix the bug. It required only 25 additional characters in the source! It turns out that the code to load and save the print settings to a file is surrounded by "#if" directives, which check for a large enough version of GTK (in version 2.11.0, a feature to save and load the print settings was added to GTK). I changed "#if GTK_CHECK_VERSION (2, 11, 0)" into "#if 0 && GTK_CHECK_VERSION (2, 11, 0)" in five places, and it works perfectly now. I guess that at the end the code should be removed altogether, but currently it works very nicely. I attached the diff. [Bug 259875] [NEW] Crashs by opening Video
Public bug reported: Totem crashs when opening Video with the following error: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ totem The program 'totem' received an X Window System error. [Bug 154744] Re: When screen is locked, the default language for password entry should be the user's default language
After spending a few hours with the gksu source code, it seems pretty obvious to me that the problem is that the pop-up is not considered as a new window, but as a tooltip. >From libgksu's source code: if (context->grab) dialog = g_object_new (GKSUUI_TYPE_DIALOG, "type", GTK_WINDOW_POPUP, "sudo-mode", context->sudo_mode, NULL); >From GTK's documentation >(http://library.gnome.org/devel/gtk/stable/gtk-Standard-Enumerations.html#GtkWindowType): Windows with type GTK_WINDOW_POPUP are ignored by the window manager... many GTK+ features that rely on the window manager will not work... GTK_WINDOW_POPUP is used to implement widgets such as GtkMenu or tooltips that you normally don't think of as windows per se. Re: [Bug 258988] Re: unaware of crash until reported to me by system
Hi, Instructions in webpage http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash not working - "dpkg -l yelp" gives version number installed of "2.22.1-0ubuntu" - "sudo apt-get install yelp-dbgsym=2.22.1-0ubuntu" doesn't install properly - fails with message "E: Version ‘2.22.1-0ubuntu’ for ‘yelp-dbgsym’ was not found". Also, as the program crashes that I had have not recurred, I am no longer concerned about this problem. [Bug 213163] Re: f-spot errors when ~/Photos not present
This is still the same in Intrepid! Basically the first time FSpot starts up it sticks all your imported photos in ~! I have confirmed this on multiple machines including x86_64 as well as i386. [Bug 259383] Re: Imap in evolution doesn't work
I'm also seeing this problem on Intrepid with 2.23.90 (although I believe it was present in a previous version as well). I have two IMAP accounts (gmail and university) and both are experiencing this issue of not seeing mail in the inbox. One way to workaround the issue is to open up Folder->Subscriptions and uncheck and then recheck the inbox folder.
