[Bug 282013] [NEW] Resizing Nautilus window using drag handle, handle seems to be "lost" after first drag
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus When dragging the lower-right hand corner of a Nautilus window via the handle, after resizing the window once, the drag handle seems to no longer function. This is using spatial Nautilus, but seems to be broken in browser mode as well. To reproduce: Open a Nautilus window. [Bug 52722] Re: Consistent 15-second hang with no window painting at launch
Jonathan - this bug happens only in very specific situations, so "Epiphany works fine in Hardy" isn't an indication of anything. Most users will never see this problem; nevertheless, it still needs to be addressed. I'll try to recreate this in Intrepid. Since GnomeVFS has been deprecated in favour of the new GVFS stuff, this might be a non-issue in recent builds of Epiphany. I'd love to see this closed. Re: [Bug 191889] Re: [MASTER] [WORKAROUND] "Offline Mode" feature fails to detect proper online state for networks that are managed outside of network manager.
Logging out didn't help. I tried reinstalling network-manager and network-manager-gnome, it prompted me to restart, which I did, and still nothing. I went to my Sessions Preferences and the Network Manager Applet was listed there with a command "nm-applet --sm-disable" I checked my System Monitor Processes and nm-applet appears to be running, but just to try I killed it and ran sudo nm-applet --sm-disable. Still nothing. I thought that network manager was different than nm-applet actually, but I wasn't sure. If that's the case, I don't know how to start network manager. I checked Services and Session Preferences and didn't find anything helpful in either (besides the Network Manager Applet I mentioned). I also find it weird that I can't access it via System -> Administration anymore... Any thoughts? I can provide debugging if you let me know what you need (and how to get it). [Bug 281992] [NEW] gnome-sound-recorder is not funtioning in Intrepid build Oct 11
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-media The October 11th build of Intrepid gnome-sound-recoder is not working at all. The file information is completely spuratic, "Length" of the file jumps up in extremely quickly (1hour in 2 seconds, very inaccurate). Trying to record with any format type (.flac, .oga, .wav). You can easily see this problem. Also when you stop it the probram is completely frozen for about 30 seconds, and then when you try to playback you have no real audio recorded. gnome-media 2.24.0.1-0ubuntu1 gnome-media-common 2.24.0.1-0ubuntu1 ** Affects: gnome-media (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- gnome-sound-recorder is not funtioning in Intrepid build Oct 11 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/281992 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-media in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Re: [Bug 281885] Re: rarian-compat AND network applet crashed on installation
Thanks for the response. Sorry, I don't have the log files you requested because I immediately re-installed Hardy after the crash. But after re-installing Hardy, I did successfully upgrade to Intrepid on a second attempt. It's working fine so far. During the second upgrade attempt, I received another error message which doesn't appear to be a problem (yet). The error message during the upgrade said, "error occurred while loading or saving configuration information for evolution-alarm-notify. Some of your configuration settings may not be working properly." Details showed "CORBA error: IDL: omg.org/CORBA/Comm_Failure:1.0". Another error during the second upgrade attempt occurred which said "Network Manager applet could not find some required resources. It cannot continue." Despite these issues, Intrepid seems to be working well right now. I've attached the log files to this email from the folder /var/log/dist-upgrade. Hope this helps. Thanks! [Bug 281440] Re: archive should order contents hierarchically
Okay, researching it more thoroughly now, I think the issue is that even when I sort by location, file-roller wants to keep the directories sorted together. This is incorrect, in my opinion. If I sort by location, the entries should be sorted *by location*. In the BaseDir screenshots I've posted (tarred so as to make one attachment), you'll note that the BaseDir is not sorted properly, I suspect because the directories are sorted alphabetically together, then the rest. The directory BaseDir contains all the rest, is rooted at "/" as far as file-roller is concerned (another bug, in my opinion), and so should be sorted first. In the Dirs-sorted-wrong series, note that Edir is separated from it's sibling Edir entries in the images. This is not correct for sorted by location, in my opinion. Does this help to explain what I think is incorrect? ** Attachment added: "gzipped tarball of file-roller screenshots and associated archives to highlight Location sorting error" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/18452817/file-roller-bug-pix-and-zips.tgz -- archive should order contents hierarchically https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/281440 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 281956] [NEW] evolution uses wrong date to switch to daylight saving timezone in timezone Europe/Brussels
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution Belgium switches to "Winter time" on October 26th this year, while evolution thinks the switch happens on October 19th. The consequence of this is that all times on the shown calendar, are wrong for a week. I'm using evolution 2.22.3.1-0ubuntu1 on Ubuntu Hardy. An example iCal file is attached. All events in this iCal file are in October 2008. In this month, we are at UTC+0200. The events are schedules on 0835Z every day and should appear to start on 1035 untill October 25th. Re: [Bug 207072] Re: nautilus does not display samba shares for machines inside an ADS network.
In my case, the problem still remains. All Samba-Shares even from other Linux-Computers can be viewed, but all the Shares of Windows-PCs are not seen. In Konqueror, both can be viewed. What I don't understand, that it requests the password after entering into the share, not before browsing to PC. In Konqueror you must type it when you enter into the Computer to view all the shares, instead of entering into the share and typing then. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please answer these questions: * Is this reproducible? * If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug? * Could you add an example to the bug? Does gst-launch play the example correctly? This will help us to find and resolve the problem. ** Changed in: totem (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low Assignee: (unassigned) => Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs) Status: New => Incomplete -- program totem video player broken audio https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/281787 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
Re: [Bug 187919] Re: alacarte crashed with AttributeError in split()
When you report a bug, it places you on the email update list, so changes in the status of the bug are forwarded to you. If you want that to stop, go to https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/187919, log in, and remove yourself from the updates list. This is standard procedure for all bugs you report. Usually, either a bug is widespread and short-lived or rare and long-lived. Since this is long-lived and widespread (grumble, grumble...), these scattered updates are taking y'all by surprise. -- alacarte crashed with AttributeError in split() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/187919 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to alacarte in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
