Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. [Bug 252503] Re: message filter does not set label
This same problem occurs even without moving messages. I have a filter set up for a gmane newsgroup: gmane.comp.openoffice.questions With a filter set to filter on a 'Delivered-To' header which contains 'moderator'. The action is to: Assign Color: Red Set Status: Important When I fetch new messages for the newsgroup I see messages that match the filter criteria. However, the filters are not applied unless I first select the individual message, and then use Message|Apply Filters or Ctrl-Y. Only then does the filter work. I have even tried selecting all of the message headers, the bottom status will show 'Filtering selected messages', but the filter is not applied - and is only applied if I select an individual message as above. [Bug 327327] [NEW] Can't open multiple large PDF files
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evince When I try to open multiple PDF documents in Evince Document Viewer (the default app), after several documents are open, Evince fails to load the next one. This always happens, but the hang point (number of docs) depends on the size of the docs. Here are the steps I used to produce the bug just now: 1. check system monitor memory. It shows 1.2 GiB used of 3.0 GiB (and no swap memory used out of 3.4 GiB). 2. Open 5 PDF documents. No problems. 3. Open the 6th PDF. It fails to load. No error is shown, but Evince just shows me a blank window. 4. check system monitor again. It shows 1.4 GiB used of 3.0 GiB (and still no swap memory used out of 3.4 GiB). 5. if I close a previously opened PDF document, I can open the 6th one that would not open before. So it is not a problem with a specific PDF document. It appears to be a problem with how many large documents I have open. The PDF files in this test were more than 1 MB each (and largest was 11 MB). I repeated the test with smaller PDF documents (all under 200k) and I was able to open 8 without problems and I probably could have opened more. But eventually, Evince will hang as described above. I know this from past experience. Any ideas about how to troubleshoot this? I'm running Hardy 32 bit. [Bug 237604] [NEW] Ctrl-key stuck in Gnome after continued browsing
You have been subscribed to a public bug: First of all - I have not been able to find a way to reproduce this bug when I want to. I have tried - a lot. That being said, this happens quite often. I use firefox 3 on Ubuntu 8.04 and browse a lot using Ctrl+click (opening a new tab in the background) and Ctrl-W. At some time (often after 15-20 minutes) the control key seems stuck. Just normally clicking on any link opens the page in a background tab in firefox. Thought this might just affect firefox, but the whole desktop environment is affected, so I guess it must be gnome, somehow. The symptoms are very much like those described here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/194214 Unfortunately I can't log out normally, because everything I click just seems highlighted. Can't type anything in thegnome- terminal; just have a rectangle where the letters should be. You can see the same thing when just pressing Ctrl in a normal session. I have to either Ctrl-Alt-F1 to a terminal and run killall gnome-session or kill the X-server via the Ctrl-Alt-Backspace combination. Because I have not found an easy way of reproducing this bug (quickly!) I guess it will be closed as incomplete, but since this has happened quite a few times since the launch of 8.04, I though I might report it. [Bug 184741] Re: evince displays form data in a pdf file incorrectly
I would say this check-boxes display problem has been corrected in poppler 0.10.3, available in Jaunty. Re: [Bug 191889] Re: [MASTER] [WORKAROUND] Offline Mode feature fails to detect proper online state for networks that are managed outside of network manager.
Actually this is not a firefox / nm interaction issue at all ( I have seen this one, and know how to work around it). It is purely network-manager failing to correctly manage network devices. It is more an issue of not having populated device entries correctly and then not being able to manage them through the various gui tools. not just a FF issue. 2009/2/10 Tom Pino metalsm...@rangeweb.net An easier solution, if your FF3 is updated to current, is to type about:config in a blank tab. Click OK to the scary message. Type tool in the filter line. You will find the below one ending in false. click on the line to change to true. This is not a FF problem but they found a fix for it and it is an easy one for Hardy and Intrepid. toolkit.networkmanager.disable;true Tom aenertia wrote: I have this issue, it appears to be caused by Network manager not being able to cope with previously defined debian interface files.
