[Bug 267371] Re: [gvfs] [smb] Damaged OpenOffice files from samba shares
I believe that this bug is essentially fixed in openoffice.org 1:3.0.1-5ubuntu1 in Jaunty as I have now turned off both gnome-vfs and gio in OOo. OOo is now patched to use gvfs fuse which should work. There are a few remaining bugs in gvfs fuse that cause saving not to work for ftp/webdav but those bugs are already filed in the gnome upstream bug tracker at: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=574968 http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=575150 Please let me know if this resolves your problem. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we can't fix it because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). [Bug 183846] Re: google calendar source does not show all events
Just found a bug which could be related. Evolution successfully downloads all private calendar events which do not repeat. The calendar events which repeat (in my case, uni subjects that repeat weekly) do not download at all. However, during mid-semester break I have removed the subjects from my google calendar for that week, and those events DO download successfully. So for repeated events evolution downloads only the repeated timeslots that have been deleted from google calendar, and not the actual repeated times that appear. Hope that makes sense. [Bug 338291] Re: cannot set lpd printer with system-config-printer
Tim, I have looked more deeply into it. It can be also a GTK bug or a bug in the Python bindings for GTK. The widget for entering LPD host and queue is a GtkComboBoxEntry. According to the documentation http://library.gnome.org/devel/gtk/unstable/GtkComboBoxEntry.html every character typed and also any change by the drop-down list emits a "changed" signal and this should lead to a call of the call-back function on_entNPTDevice_changed(). In the actual system-config-printer (in Jaunty) this happens only when choosing an item from the drop-down list. This probably also affects any other UI part using a GtkComboBoxEntry widget, like setting up SMB or Socket printers. The bug is most probably not in system-config-printer. ** Also affects: gtk+2.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: pygtk (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- cannot set lpd printer with system-config-printer https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/338291 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gtk+2.0 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I should mention that the configs are there and accessible through gconf-editor: The key names are /apps/metacity/global_keybindings/switch_to_workspace_n for 0 < n < 13. gnome-keybinding-properties seems just to be hardcoded to show only bindings for 2 workspaces, which is the default on Ubuntu. It is not a bug. It is because your program is more protective than others. This is the first time I have ever had a problem loading Winzip 8.1 on any O.S..
