If I go to the shortcuts app, add webcam: /usr/bin/cheese activate the Shortcut field and press fn+camera it does insert XF86WebCam. But! if I close the shortcuts app and press fn+camera, nothing happens. And to make it stranger. If I assign f.e. Ctrl+W it does work and if i then assign XF86WebCam again it does work (jippie) .. till the next reboot (boo). Cool! The problem here is that I could not find what system KDE 4 uses for MIME associations. It doesn't seem it uses update-desktop-database even though that's a freedesktop.org standard.
