Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a regular (non-security) bug. [Bug 275558] Re: Export/Import radio list
Added this to One Hundred Papercuts though this might seem like a new feature request. In fact Rhythmbox can subscribe to radio streams in .m3u files but it requires a user to open .m3u file in a text editor, copy an URL and then add it to Rhythmbox. [Bug 386017] Re: Unknown trackpad combination pastes text highlighted from different applications.
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 34629 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/34629 I don't know whether this is actually a duplicate, I think that having the middle button click paste previously highlighted text should be fixed for trackpads so that it only pastes when you click both mouse buttons, and not when you bump into the scroll bar. This would fix 'copy-paste' in ubuntu so that power users could still copy-paste without having to ctrl c, ctrl v but also keep people from accidentally pasting text while typing. I run into this accidental pasting every day. It seems like it's a feature which is pretty deeply rooted in linux, so I don't know whether it's possible to tweak it in this instance so it recognizes a distinction between middle mouse click (press both left and right buttons) and middle mouse click (touch scroll on trackpad). I am sure that other ubuntu users who use the track pad primarily also run into this issue. You have been subscribed to a public bug: The following article in the wiki talks about BluRay and HD-DVD support in Ubuntu: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats/BluRayAndHDDVD I was really hoping that Gutsy would have the UDF fix and the newer version of mplayer/ffmpeg that supports playing back non-encrypted HD- DVD VC1 encoded content. Problem summary: 1. Plug in Xbox 360 HD-DVD player to USB port on gutsy BETA box: 2. Insert HD-DVD disk. 3. Receive same error in dmesg I get in feisty: UDF-fs: minUDFReadRev=250 (max is 201) Not to harp - but I fail to see how Ubuntu can consider itself a true alternative to Windows, when it can't even mount a newer type of DVD on a piece of common and inexpensive hardware that has been available for a year! I'm not asking for it to break the AACS for me or do anything illegal - just mounting the disk and properly playing back VC1 content that isn't encrypted in totem or mplayer would be sufficient. All the pieces are already available, they just need to be put in gutsy before it ships. FWIW, trying to playback an unecrypted EVO file in gutsy BETA's totem yields: An error occurred - Internal data flow error then crash Mplayer in gutsy seems to have the vc1 codec available (which is an improvement over Feisty), but fails saying File doesn't contain the selected audio or video stream. [Bug 28835] Re: Unmount in volume right-click menu, is tech-speak and undiscoverable
Is there any reason to have separate eject/unmount for USB sticks? To my knowledge there's no harm from ripping out an unmounted USB stick, so the eject button might as well simply unmount it in that case. I'm in favor of removing eject from USB sticks altogether - all it really does is require the user to unplug/replug it if he wants to get back to his data rather than double clicking it again. When you click unmount there's a nice consistency - you see the stick disappear as you unplug it, and whenever it's plugged in there will be a way to access it. Now, this still leaves the problem of unmount being a technical term, but that can be renamed to safely remove or something to that effect - the important point is for USB sticks we only need unmount. -- Unmount in volume right-click menu, is tech-speak and undiscoverable https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/28835 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 301035] Re: Ubuntu icon on the system partition
TBH, the bug is filed at the wrong part of the stack. Nautilus with GIO really wants this kind of data to come from the system (via HAL or I guess now DeviceKit-disks). We could hack it into Nautilus, but it really makes sense in DK-D/HAL, where other applications will get the same icon (file chooser, brasero, etc). Not sure exactly how it should be handled, but we do have GEmblemedIcon for this kind of purpose though IIRC we don't support that in Nautilus yet. And then there's the question of where do we get the icon... Need to have some standardized location for storing branding information like this.
