Re: [Bug 408417] Re: No option to log in remotely via XDMCP
Robert Ancell [2009-09-10 2:59 -]: Proposed solution: Make the old GDM available in Karmic as a 'gdm-old' package for users requiring this functionality It's just a temporary workaround, though, of course. As it happens, gdm-2.20 is in source NEW, as a proposed alternative login manager for Xubuntu. Here's the output from a test this morning. Karmic doesn't appear to have a org.freedesktop.PowerManagement interface running on the session bus, but I've included a log from the org.freedesktop.DeviceKit.Power interface on the system bus as well as the GPM logs. Steps used to reproduce: 1. Unplug AC power and let battery discharge 2. Wait for power to reach critical level. The system should notify you that the battery is at a critical level and the computer is about to be shut down. 3. Immediately reconnect the power supply. The power tray icon should show that the system is charging. 4. After a few seconds a message in any open console will inform you that the system is going down for halt NOW!. (5. Optional: Curse if you had anything unsaved open) Note: This isn't over a suspend, but certainly easier to reproduce than trying to catch it right at the critical moment. ** Attachment added: dbus-devkit-power.log.txt http://launchpadlibrarian.net/31586602/dbus-devkit-power.log.txt -- shutdown after plugging in AC with critical battery https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/70293 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 427114] Re: Creating a new launcher by drag and drop from application menu
Aha, I have created the Eclipse launcher in the menu by my own as per https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/420873 the eclipse package will not install anymore due to gcj. Hence I downloaded eclipse from the website and installed it in /opt/ and did my own launcher. -- Creating a new launcher by drag and drop from application menu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/427114 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
