[Bug 447013] Re: stickynotes_applet loses content
1. Is this reproducible? I really don't know. I can't remember doing something special. Surprisingly, I had the same issue on another jaunty-machine. So, I guess there are more people out there with the same problems. The only special about my setup is probably that I often switch between Single- and Dual-Head configuration on both machines. That's all I can say about it. -- stickynotes_applet loses content https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/447013 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 469818] Re: taskbar icons corrupted after logging out and back in
1. It is reproducible, but it doesn't happen very often, so there are no 100% reproducible steps that I've found. 2. When the bug occurs, it's usually when I'm logging on and off, either with one user, or with multiple accounts. For example, just yesterday, the bug occurred again when setting up a guest account on my laptop. After I tested the guest account, I logged back in as my primary user, and saw what appeared to be two volume control icons in my system tray (instead of one volume control and one network manager icon). Here, I have to correct two statements in my initial report. 1) I had initially stated, I can still click on the area where the icon should be, and it behaves normally. Well, when the bug occured yesterday, I realized that was not true. 2) I had initially stated, The rightmost taskbar icon fails to display correctly (it appears to be displaying a bit of graphics from the element to its left). When the bug occurred yesterday, the corrupted networkmanager icon was to the left of the volume control, but assumed the appearance of the volume control. So, it appears that the problem may not be with the panel after all, but with the network manager. As of now, here is my best guess as to what is happening: 1) Somehow the network manager is becoming unresponsive. 2) When the network manager's tray icon is to be drawn, the network manager never draws its icon, leaving whatever was previously in that place graphically still on the screen. I realize that this bug report isn't very good, and I apologize. I had too many assumptions in my initial report (and possibly in this one as well). -- taskbar icons corrupted after logging out and back in https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/469818 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 475721] [NEW] totem says it needs plugins to watch TV but neither says what it needs nor offers to get them
Public bug reported: Under the Movie menu, there is an item to Watch TV on DVB Adapter 0. If I select it, I get a popup dialog appears which says: Totem cannot play this type of media (Digital Television) because you do not have the appropriate plugins to handle it. Please install the necessary plugins and restart Totem to be able to play this media. However, neither this message nor the help documentation mention what plugins are needed. At other times Totem has offered to go look for a plugin, but it didn't do this either. Finally, under Edit / Plugins, there is nothing listed which sounds remotely applicable. Presumably they are the already loaded plugins and if I could get the right plugin for digital TV watching, it would appear there. [Bug 407621] Re: (design decision) Icons missing from context menu , dialogue buttons , firefox bookmark favicons, system menu
Reading comments here is clear enough that a lot of users (including me) saw the missing icons as a bug. Guidelines are good tools to give consistency, but we should also concentrate on *what* we perceive as consistent. A main menu with tree items, where the indentation clearly shows that something is missing on a number of menu items is just inconsistent. To the end user the theory of item and non-item menu object is just a technical aspect, what he/she can see is an inconsistent looking menu. -- (design decision) Icons missing from context menu , dialogue buttons , firefox bookmark favicons, system menu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/407621 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
