[Bug 483461] [NEW] Brasero is not ejecting the disc after completion of data writing, just umounting
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: brasero Even when opted for ejecting the disc after completion of data-writing, Brasero is not ejecting the disc (CD/ DVD). Another comment is that this bug not only happens in Desktop JPEG images... it happens when making some copy&paste and deletion of images or pictures is the Pictures folder... in my case I maintain certain order of pictures in some folders and happens when I download images from my mobile phone... so I cut and paste several pictures from one folder to another using nautilus tabs and noticed that after few file handling it stops showing thumbnails of files in the same folder and in fact it shows no icons at all and no subfolders... is like it hangs when searching for files in that particular folder... if a second nautilus window is opened and you go to the same folder... it fixes and shows contents in both windows. It is very annoying because I have to Alt+F2 > "killall nautilus" and Alt+F2 > "nautilus" again... I was able to reproduce the problem reported by Gigi and Jean Levasseur with totem up-to-date and totem-common not updated. The problem goes away when updating totem-common. Therefore, is it possible to have your feedback again with totem and totem-common up to date? Also all tests were done on the karmic package only, isn't there anyone to test the jaunty fix? I confirm that in my case, the jaunty fix works great here, no matter what video I try to play. [Bug 483335] [NEW] Rhythmbox 0.12.5 cannot start playback of Last.fm after pausing
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox Rhythmbox 0.12.5 in Ubuntu 9.10, Karmic Koala, on a Dell Inspiron 1545n displays an error message such as the following every time it tries to restart playback of Last.fm after stopping playback of Last.fm. 'Couldn't start playback "http://play.last.fm/user/7add...de632.mp3": Forbidden'. I expected it to restart playback of Last.fm rather than display the error message above. The source package is "rhythmbox". The installed version is "0.12.5-0ubuntu5". I work around this problem by quiting the "Music Player" icon at the top of the screen and restarting "Rhythmbox". Only closing the "Music Player" window and restarting "Rhythmbox" is not sufficient, since clicking on the "Play" icon for Last.fm gets the error message above. The first time Rhythmbox tries to restart playback of Last.fm after stopping playback of Last.fm, it also displays the following error message. "Search for suitable plugin? The required software to play this file is not installed. You need to install suitable plugins to play media files. Do you want to search for a plugin that supports the selected file? The search will also include software which is not officially supported." Running the search results in the following window. "No packages with the requested plugins found. The requested plugins are: text/html decoder". ** Affects: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Rhythmbox 0.12.5 cannot start playback of Last.fm after pausing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/483335 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

My problem was associated with the installation of 9.10. First I 'upgraded' with the online version. Several applications including Rhythmbox then malfunctioned. Then I burned a CD and re-installed from that - some problems disappeared but I still could not get my audio set-up right. Finally I erased the entire partition and made a clean installation. All is now well. Seems that something hanging over from 8.04 is not properly updated during installation of 9.10.
