[Bug 492810] Re: Nautilus uses 100% cpu
Azraele: I am very sorry for doubting you. You are correct and your concerns are valid. Do you have any other thoughts on how to reproduce the problem? Is Nautilus launching on its own and spiking to 100% while downloading? after the downloads are complete? Are you opening Nautilus to browse the folders where the torrents are being stored when the problem occurs? We will need to figure out the steps necessary to recreate the problem before we can confirm the bug. Once I can recreate the problem then it will become very easy to reproduce and get it fixed. Any help you can provide to get us there would be appreciated. ** Summary changed: - Nautilus uses 100% cpu + Nautilus uses 100% cpu after downloading torrent -- Nautilus uses 100% cpu after downloading torrent https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/492810 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 493759] Re: gnome-panel keeps segfaulting
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a ".crash" file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding. ** Changed in: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid ** Changed in: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs) -- gnome-panel keeps segfaulting https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/493759 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Danny. The purpose of upstream tasks are to follow along with upstream. If you want to change the package associated with the bug, click the down arrow next to empathy and change the package to whichever. Please stop opening upstream tasks, as they are pointless unless they are linked to a bug report upstream. Just want to know: When there is a fix ... and there seems to be a fix ;) ... why does not somebody just add it and build new packages? [Bug 493716] [NEW] Input/output error when saving files on a GVFS mounted FTP directory
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gvfs I used ubuntu-bug gvfs-fuse (1.2.2) to report and I'm running Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty). Starting since a few days ago whenever I edit a file on a mounted FTP directory I get a "Input/output error" and the result is essentially that the file is deleted (0 bytes). This happens whenever I try to edit something in ~/.gvfs directly, e.g. using Geany or even nano. The only program that manages to save correctly so far has been gedit. I asked around and it seems that's because gedit doesn't use FUSE, but GIO. Also, so far I've only had this happen with FTP mounts, SFTP mounts on the other hand are still working like they're supposed to. I'm certainly wondering if this is FTP server specific, but I haven't yet verified if the behavior occurs with another FTP server. Coincidently it seems that the kernel on my system was recently upgraded (to 2.6.28.17.22), though I am not sure if this is related. [Bug 491483] Re: Since failsafe-x was enabled in karmic it starts if gdm is disabled and kdm is used. (low graphics mode error)
I had success with Philip's gdm patch! "kdm[1064]: X server died during startup" and "kdm[1064]: Failed to start X server. Starting failsafe X server." are not to be found in the syslog. PLEASE refactor this "upstart sprawl." This was a very painful bug for me. As an Intel IGP owner, I wasn't even given a terminal to fall back to. [Bug 397892] Re: Screensaver does not turn on [Ubuntu / Xubuntu Karmic]
I cleaned out my users .gnome* .gconf* etc and my screensaver/power- saving started working again, however, if I go to screensaver preferences and make a change, it stops working until the next logout/login. I can not be sure that the fresh .gnome* .gconf* made a difference, or if that coincided with a change in the package. [Bug 492948] Re: Nautilus not able to handle litteral IPv6 address like smb://::1/sharing/
As the command $ nautilus smb://2001:666:2:1/sharing leads to error message Could not display "smb://2001/sharing/". it seems the parser (?) chops off everything starting from the : (maybe because the : could be the separator between name/FQDN and port?), I tried to escape the colon: $ nautilus smb://%3A%3A1/sharing Alas, this leads to the same error: Could not find "smb:///sharing". So, even the escaped colon (%3A) is seen as a colon and leads to a chop- off. :-( As $ nautilus smb://[::1]/sharing leads to Could not display "smb://[::1]/sharing/". I don't think there is a need to escape the [ and ]. IMHO: the best solution is that Nautilus' SMB should be triggered by [ ] to use the included stuff as a litteral IPv6 address -- Nautilus not able to handle litteral IPv6 address like smb://::1/sharing/ https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/492948 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 354995] Re: Brasero Checksum Error
Could some of your issues be related to a TAO vs. SAO write mode issue as described in my (yet unconfirmed) bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cdrkit/+bug/465035 ?
