[Bug 468371] Re: Rhythmbox crashes towards end of midi file
I have this same problem. When I have MIDI files in my playlist, Rhythmbox asks to search for a suitable plugin (audio/riff-midi) and doesn't find any. MIDI files still play fine, it's only when switching directly from one MIDI file to another that it crashes. I can switch from a MIDI file to an MP3 or OGG file and back to a MIDI file without it crashing. It's not much of a deal with my large randomized playlist of 99% non-MIDI files, but still an annoyance when I want to specifically listen to more than one MIDI file. [Bug 197762] Re: file transfers on USB flash key (pendrive) are slowing down with time
I have this problem too. HP Pavilion (Core 2 Quad, 3 GB RAM, 2.6.31-17-generic x86_64) I was unable to use dd to write a memstick image to a Sandisk USB stick. It was crawling to a virtual stop before reaching 40% complete. I hope my observations will help to solve this problem. My first observation was that I could use dstat output to anticipate the slow down and then press "Ctrl-Z" to suspend the dd so that the write buffers could drain. Carefully nursing the transfer along resulted in a successful and quick copy. My other observation was that I could work around this problem using the "oflag=direct" option to dd, which presumably bypasses the lazy write buffering. # dd if=sandisku3.dd of=/dev/sdh bs=256k oflag=direct 7839+1 records in 7839+1 records out 2055021056 bytes (2.1 GB) copied, 217.913 s, 9.4 MB/s I think these observations suggest that the extremely high write backlog (over 700MB "Dirty" in /proc/meminfo) causes a performance fall-over when available memory resources become exhausted. -- file transfers on USB flash key (pendrive) are slowing down with time https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/197762 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 507739] Re: Widget names not set when using GtkBuilder
** Description changed: LottaNZB cannot be launched on an up-to-date Lucid machine because of a bug in GtkBuilder. I tracked down the problem: When loading a XML UI file using GtkBuilder, the 'name' property of widgets isn't set. On the other hand, the 'name' property of 'GtkAction' objects is properly set. A test case written in both Python and C is attached. Compare the output on a Karmic and a Lucid machine. I'm pretty sure that LottaNZB worked about a week ago, when I initially installed Lucid. [Bug 508546] Re: Rhythmbox not allowing 16-character lastfm password
Hi Esme, You can choose where to save the logfile. Let me explain the command that Pedro is having you run: "rhythmbox -D lastfm --debug &> rhythmbox- debug.txt" Breaking it down "rhythmbox" is the name of the program you are going to start from the terminal, "-D" is an argument that allows debugging for the rhythmbox program "lastfm" is a string for the debugger to run, "&>" writes the debug results to a file, "rhythmbox-debug.txt" is the name of the file you are writing. Now lets change the location of the file. Like Pedro said when you execute this command it will write this file in your current directory. In this case you can find out the directory this will be in by typing "pwd". As an example lets change this to the desktop "rhythmbox -D lastfm --debug &> /home/esme/Desktop/rhythmbox-debug.txt" I am assuming that you have an account "esme" if you have a different name for your account you will need to change this part. Also you can name the file whatever you would like Pedro came up with "rhythbox-debug.txt" which is a good descriptive name for the file. -- Rhythmbox not allowing 16-character lastfm password https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/508546 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 517306] [NEW] emails move to delete folder in error
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution I have just started using Ubuntu 9.10. I have a problem in Evolution when moving emails from the 'inbox' folder to another folder. This is what I do :- I right click on an email, then in the dropdown menu, I click on 'move to folder', then I select a folder in the little window with the list of folders and then click on 'move'. It seems that the emails have gone to the new folder. But by chance, I have later found that many of the moved emails were in the 'delete' folder ! That was not the folder into which they were moved ! What do I need to do to rectify this problem? Your help would be appreciated. Thanks.
