[Bug 529358] [NEW] Not able to hear the audio sound from the computer
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox I just installed the latest version, Ubuntu 9.10 and also did the live update and restarted the computer. When I put Audio CD, the system asked to select which player to play the CD, then I selected Rhythmbox. (I have the version of Rhythmbox 0.12.5). Then I selected track and click play, it is playing the CD track, but no sound from the speakers. It is not showing any error, then I tried the radio, but the audio problem is same, no sound. [Bug 526898] Re: Slow to release wireless lock in auto-login sessions
Sorry for the confusion. This is not a bug in either gnome-keyring or network manager. I had started using transmission recently , and since it was among my startup [auto-launch] apps, transmission would start fast and begin using the bandwidth _completely_ , not allowing any other app to gain access to the network. [Bug 529303] [NEW] Printing multiple images does not work
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: eog When eog is used to open several images at a time it will not print them all at once. To reproduce this: 1. Open two images with eog $eog img1.jpg img2.jpg 2. File->Print 3. Print Preview The result is a print preview of only the single image in one sheet. There should be a setting somewhere to print all images and not just the one previously selected. The "Range" options are confusing because they seem to indicate this will happen, even though they are greyed out. Gnumeric solves a similar problem nicely by creating an extra tab in the print dialog called "Gnumeric Print Range". In there it is possible to set printing for only some workbook sheets, all of them, just the active ones, etc. I came across this bug while trying to use eog to make a single pdf file of a bunch of scans of photos. I ended up giving up and using "convert" on the command line. OK, it seems that the volume and bluetooth indicators in Lucid now appear in the indicator applet, not in the notification area applet. [Bug 529282] Re: gnome-display-properties does not work if you install nvidia-current
(1) To reproduce this: Set up: * Install nvidia-current (I used Synaptic). * Ensure that /etc/X11/xorg.conf does not exist (delete it if necessary). * Reboot and login in. At this boot you should be using the nouveau driver because xorg.conf is not specifying nvidia. Confirm that the nvidia module is loaded with: lsmod | grep nvidia Reproduction of problem: * Run gnome-display-properties, either from the command line, or via the System / Prefs / Display menu option. (2) What should happen: gnome-display-properties should display its standard window and allow you to change screen resolution, etc, as it does after a fresh installation. (3) What actually happens: gnome-display-properties says: "It appears your graphics driver does not support the necessary extensions to use this tool. Do you want to use your graphics driver vendor's tool instead? No / Yes." This is the message it normally displays when you *are* running the nvidia module. Note that it tells the truth - if you select 'No' and continue to use gnome-display-properties, it does not detect monitors or change screen resolution. However, if you select 'Yes' and have it run nvidia-settings, nvidia- settings says you aren't using the nvidia module and it can't do anything either. -- gnome-display-properties does not work if you install nvidia-current https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/529282 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-media in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 524974] Re: tuco
Thank you for using Ubuntu and taking the time to report a bug. Your report should contain, at a minimum, the following information so we can better find the source of the bug and work to resolve it. Submitting the bug about the proper source package is essential. For help see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . Additionally, in the report please include: 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'cat /etc/lsb-release' or System -> About Ubuntu. 2) The version of the package you are using, via 'dpkg -l PKGNAME | cat' or by checking in Synaptic. 3) What happened and what you expected to happen. The Ubuntu community has also created debugging procedures for a wide variety of packages at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures . Following the debugging instructions for the affected package will make your bug report much more complete. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You have a lot of useful information on your bug report however it is still missing some key points. I would like to confirm that your bug exists but I don't have enough information. Unfortunately, we can't fix it because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem,(Please be exact as possible this is so we can confirm your bug.) 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Thanks! When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the appropriate application's "Help -> Report a Problem" menu or using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. [Bug 528830] Re: Must log in twice to gdm in Lucid
Technically, it's not a problem with having to login twice: I just found that if you enter an incorrect password on the first attempt, gdm still crashes and restarts. The second time though it starts up OK. @Manav: I don't have to enter my password twice when authenticating software installation, only when I'm first starting up gdm. [Bug 528890] Re: Informatic
[Bug 518017] Re: epiphany-browser crashed with SIGSEGV in g_closure_invoke()
IMHO, this bug can be closed. I've just updated epiphany and cannot reproduce this bug anymore. (Edit -> Actions -> *Crash*) And it was fixed/missing in development version as early as 5-6 feb, the day I checked out an compiled an epiphany from sources.
