[Bug 541970] Re: keymap.get_entries_for_keyval returns None when run inside an freenx nxserver

2010-04-18 Thread Jeremy Wilkins
This sounds like the same keymap issues that were experienced with an
older version. It may be that the solution that was implemented to
solve those issues may not resolve this issue or may be aggravating it.
I believe this stems out of the new evdev input system that is in use in
newer desktops. Unfortunately, the X server in FreeNX is old and does
not translate keymaps properly for evdev so several kludges need to be
implemented to overcome this shortfall. The only way to resolve these
issues so far has been to add specific fixes for the program to do a
manual keymap or the login script to do this.

[Bug 566416] [NEW] Pressing space bar toggle play/pause

2010-04-18 Thread Lox
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

It has been a so long time I see that bug in every Ubuntu release: I
can't type a space in the search bar because space toggles play/pause.

I simply booted the live cd, selected French and ran it. There shouldn't
be such a bug on the default music player, things like that is really
rebutting new linux users

solves it)

2010-04-18 Thread Jerone Young
@Chris
Well the specification comes from Microsoft. It states the bios will
send Super + P .. wait .5 seconds and then send a return. If another keypress
happens in between that .5 seconds the bios is not to send the return.

What this is doing is bringing up the windows video dialogue and
pressing enter on it.

For Ubuntu & Linux distros this brings up an interesting
situation.

[Bug 561734] Re: quadrapassel doesn't start: Failed to initialise clutter: Unable to select the newly created GLX context

Yesterday, if ran from the menu, didn't happends. If ran from CLI it
shows the error "Unable to make the stage windows the current GLX

Today, after many upgrades in one of the machines, it doesn't work even from

[Bug 566356] [NEW] Clicking on a collapsed mail account should show INBOX or unread mail

2010-04-18 Thread zerwas
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Currently it is useless that the entry of a collapsed mail account is
clickable. In my opinion a click should either jump directly to INBOX or
show unread mails or do something different useful.

I attached a screenshot to make clear where a click has no effect. This
is especially annoying when many mail accounts are used which have to be
collapsed in order to keep an overview.

[Bug 513655] Re: every time fontconfig trigger is run, vte color scheme goes wrong in all my terminals

2010-04-18 Thread Steve Langasek
This bug appears to be fixed now in Lucid. I was reminded of this
because now every time there's a font upgrade, I get a brief flicker,
then all my windows return to normal, which is much improved over the
previous behavior. :)

** Changed in: vte (Ubuntu)
   Status: Triaged => Fix Released

[Bug 539477] Re: Video out hot key sends super + p + return on Dell E5500, Studio XPS 1558, Inspiron 15 & many upcoming Dell systems

2010-04-18 Thread Chris Coulson
g-s-d is almost certainly the wrong place to fix this anyway. At some
point in the stack, Super+P should map to the same X keysym that the
keys on every other piece of hardware that exists map to (whether that
is in the kernel or xkeyboard-config, I'm not sure). But adding
hardware-dependant hacks like this to something at the level of g-s-d
just seems wrong to me

[Bug 566214] [NEW] Unable to open document, system says another doc is being recovered, repeats after recovery and even after restart.

2010-04-18 Thread Jan Greeff
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

I am using Ubuntu 9.10.

I tried to open another of my documents while another one was minimised,
being edited. The system then told me that Open Office had crashed and
that the doc I was editing would be recovered when OO restarts. I have
restarted several times but the problem persists. The "problem" doc has
been recovered successfully but the doc that I wanted to open seems to
have been locked up in the error message which keeps on repeating.

I tried to open this doc in my backups on a different hard drive, but
the same result.

[Bug 539477] Re: Video out hot key sends super + p + return on Dell E5500, Studio XPS 1558, Inspiron 15 & many upcoming Dell systems

2010-04-18 Thread Jerone Young
Well there is an issue here found after testing. It's not good either.

Actually fixing gnome-settings-daemon may not be the best solution. There are
2 thinings.
 1) Even with Mike's Patch (great patch) .. the way it works is when
you press the hot key it first sends super+p. Then a small delay & then sends
are return key. The problem here is users gets a return key press that can have
unintended consequences. We can't catch that return either. So if a user is
doing something they will get a return key press, which could have all sorts of
side effects that the user would not want.

 2) Apparently the Dell bios only does this only for OSes that
identify themselves as Windows 7.. it does an acpi query. Of course
Linux says I am Windows 7. But under Windows Vista the key only sends a
video out key press (as normal).

The best way to get around this issue (till Dell decides to
fix their bios), is to pass acpi_osi="Windows 2006" on the kernel
command line. So Linux says I'm Windows Vista.

Chatting with Dell now about this.

Re: [Bug 410407] Re: Clicking on items in Flash player does nothing [READ DESCRIPTION]

2010-04-18 Thread Jeremy Nickurak
Unless I'm mistaken, that's still the february 11th 2010 release,
which is 10.0.45.2. It's still considered a pre-release "alpha
refresh" version.

10.1 is still 32-bit only.

FWIW, I've had good luck with mozilla-plugin-gnash lately. It does
real 32bit and 64 bit support, and is a lot more stable. It's still
slower than adobe's, but it's improved a lot in the past couple years.

[Bug 497728] Re: Make default thumbnail size the same as the icon size

2010-04-18 Thread Endolith
Isn't this by design? Thumbnails *should* be bigger than icons.
They're thumbnails.

If a row consists only of icons, it's narrower, so that screen real
estate isn't wasted with giant icons when small icons are equally
legible. I believe Windows 7 does the same thing, and it should be left
as is.

2010-04-18 Thread Paul-Sebastian Manole
There's a new Release Candidate for Flash Player 10.1 for amd64 on Linux:
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashplayer10/flashplayer10_1_rc_linux_040510.tar.gz

Untar to your ~/.mozilla/plugins/

Works fine for me. Also seems a lot faster.

[Bug 566134] Re: brightness-applet behaviour is good

2010-04-18 Thread Santiago Roland
Another comment is that any interaction with the brightness applet put
automatically the red symbol (like do not smoke) over the brightness
symbol... but the mouse wheel scroll over it still work.

[Bug 566134] [NEW] brightness-applet behaviour is good

2010-04-18 Thread Santiago Roland
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

As seeing in the screenshot, brightness applet gauge not respond at all.
The only way to change the LCD brightness of my HP 6735s notebook is to
scroll the mouse wheel over the brightness symbol. The expanded gauge do
not work and any click over the + and - sign or the dial bar closes the
gauge. The notebook key Fn+brightnessUP and DOWN not respond either...

Sometimes when clicking the brightness symbol the gauge jumps to the
upper-left corner of the screen too. I will comment this issue in that
bug report.

regards.

[Bug 515869] Re: Empathy incoming and outgoing messaging bug

2010-04-18 Thread Omer Akram
Mike, I think invalid here is a correct status. This does not happen all
the time for sure. but when it happens the only thing that user can do
is open the debug window from help and select the appropriate telepathy
component there and save the logs and post with the bug report. As you
dont use empathy anymore there is nothing much we can do.

@nowisnat, If you still face this issue with the latest version of
empathy from the ppa or if you are already using Lucid please save the
appropriate logs to text file during the time the problem happens using
this procedure http://live.gnome.org/Empathy/Debugging and attach it to
the bug report. Thanks very much for the bug report.
