Dell Inspiron 1440-Karmic 32x- So I have had this same problem - after rebooting for the first time after installing Amarok- I uninstalled Amarok and ran the fix and it works great - have rebooted multiple times and am having no further issues. However, I wonder if this is a conflict regarding the KDE libraries and how being installed as requisites for other programs may conflict with the gnome-settings daemon for Nautilus as KDE programs don't generally use the Gtk theme. Maybe some of you have cross installed KDE applications? Its sad that a command-line fix tends to end all discussion on simple bugs like this, but I believe for the end user switching to Linux it is crucial we don't rail people over searching for help for issues they may not even know how to describe. some valuable information I forgot to tell due to my desesperation (as I found rhythmbox-dbg useless, if that is not true, please tell me how to debug rhythmbox with its debbuging symbols): - When rhythmbox is frozen, gradually consumes more CPU as the time passes being frozen, the maximum CPU I saw is about the 90-95 percent, then I kill the process and the CPU consumption returns to normal percentages. - And It happens the same with the RAM, gradually, but faster, rhythmbox occupies more and more RAM, I have 3 gigs of RAM in my computer, then time passed being frozen and the the RAM that rhytmbox is using becames to 1.2-1.6 gigs from the normal RAM usage of 50 megs when I am playing a song from a NTFS partition. I just have updated Ubuntu since the Update Manager notified me a couple of days ago... My system is 64-bit type. The way I can reproduce this is simple: I just open rhythmbox, then I write anything in the search field and the I hold the backspace key and then rhythmbox hangs. I did some more work on this recently, particularly relating to icon bounding boxes. I tried to find any bugs by adding code that generated frames through Cairo, and it seems the bounding boxes are actually correct, as shown in my screenshot. It seems the actual issues arise in collision detection (at least in my patches). Instead of marking parts of a grid, which only partially works, I tried checking for collisions between bounding boxes directly. I have also suffered this bug for a couple of years. I am now on ubuntu 9.04 having upgraded through a couple of versions all of which experienced the bug. I have several folders, plus a single "Unread mail" folder. I've just spotted that emails arrived over the last couple of hours are showing correctly in the folders, but not the unread mail folder, although I haven't had the synch error today. This means I missed them. The last time I "resolved" the error was on saturday when I deleted just the ibex.index.data and ibex.index file for the folder showing the in the error log. I have just taken the following actions (built from notes in previous bug report) which increased the number of mails in the "unread" folder by 23. 1. Set Evolution to Offline mode, exit evolution 2. But that's known as bug 433654 for a while. The suggested simple and dirty fix would even be to remove the group from the list, as "listening music when logged out" is a very weird case people could handle manually if they really need this. This is mostly a silly behavior which was never intended. As you can see on the other report, I'd be in favor of removing that useless "audio" group by default, since users-admin's general idea is to list all groups that exist in hope they are useful, which is not the case obviously in Ubuntu ATM.
