[Bug 577410] Re: pressed CD mounts but fails to display any files, partition not detected
Unfortunately the bug is still present in maverick amd 64 desktop final. Attaching a new apport trace. ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: Binary package hint: gvfs I have two windows hardware driver cds that came with hardware I recently purchased. Both suffer from the same issue. The CD is detected and mounted (including the cd label) at /media/cdrom0, however no files are displayed. dmesg output reports the following: [89245.260397] UDF-fs: No VRS found [89245.260403] UDF-fs: No partition found (1) [89245.340199] ISO 9660 Extensions: Microsoft Joliet Level 1 [89245.342207] ISO 9660 Extensions: RRIP_1991A In attempting to troubleshoot the issue, I have tested on several other computers with different optical drive hardware, cpus and motherboards, ranging from a P3 with a dvd-rom to an intel i7 latptop with a blu-ray burner. The issue is constant across different hardware environments. All the computers in question were running lucid (final) or karmic (fully updated). I also noted that I was able to copy the cd to an iso image using brasero. Mounting this iso image using archive mounter also showed no files, however opening the iso image using archive manager revealed the files on the cd. I also tested the CD using the cd passthrough function of virtualbox, using several current linux distros and MS XP. Distros tested were: Crunchbang statler alpha Fedora 12 Linux Mint 8 SymphonyOne 2008.1 With the same result. XP mounted and autoran the cd without issue. The CD in question is the driver CD for the Nokia E-series phones and the ISO is ~188Mb. I can attach it to the bug report if requested. I have the same issue with another driver CD which came with a samsung clx-3175fn printer, so I don't believe it is an issue with the physical media. hi Pedro, look at bug 640240, its quite the same symptoms with maverick. Status in “gnome-power-manager” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager After upgrading from 9.10 to 10.04 I've noticed a real downgrade of gnome-power-manager. Maybe this occurred because devicekit-power package became obsolete. Problem was that after upgrade gnome-power-manager stopped tracking events. In 9.10 I had omnibook module installed, as I needed bluetooth and brightness buttons support. That worked like a charm. Before upgrade, after I unplugged power adapter from laptop gnome-power-manager changed AC status to off-line and laptop-mode executed appropriate scripts. So, screen dimmed and hdparm commands were executed. Now it doesn't do anything when I plug/unplug adapter. And brightness control buttons (Fn-F6/Fn-F7) stopped working too. Omnibook module still works as I can use bluetooth and change brightness manually. I think, problem is in power-manager. [Bug 127444] Re: Drag'n'drop multiple files into playlist, (or open multiple files) add it not in the good/alphabetical order...
Ubuntu 10.10, Totem 2.32.0. I'd say the bug itself is that the order in which Totem adds multiple files to the list is *unknown*; it shouldn't be. Steps to reproduce /on my machine/: 1. Open a folder with Nautilus with a dozen audio files, ordered by name 2. Select all files 3. Drag n drop them to Totem's Playlist What should happen: Files are added to the playlist ordered by name. What happens instead: Files are added to the playlist not ordered by name. Please confirm whether you can reproduce or not. [Bug 661652] [NEW] Totem poor video quality with deinterlacing
Public bug reported: Using totem video player in Maverick, by default I noticed videos have a bad or blurry video quality. [Bug 451557] Re: [ubuntu karmic] 720Watt netbooks?
compare with Bug #413799 I am now running Lucid on my netbook, and the history and stats as shown by the gnome-power-manager do seem to be realistic. However, I do note one logical glitch in the display of Time to empty: when this time is, let's say, 2h, and the AC power is connected, the Time to empty shows 0h (zero hours). If anything, this should be infinity, though simply omitting a data point of zero might be more adequate. Likewise, when AC is connected and the removed, the Time to full is shown as 0s (zero second). That would also have to be infinity (or again omitted altogether). -- [ubuntu karmic] 720Watt netbooks? https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/451557 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I encountered the bug too after I performed an system update this morning (15. October) via update-manager. Your other questions: 1, No, actual and new passwords differed, I was careful enough to perform the correct steps that should have led to successful password change. 2, The hanging behaviour is password-independent and happens always - it means it's perfectly reproducible. It effectively means it is not possible to change the password in a GUI way. 3, It does occur only if I try to change my own password, not other users. 4, 'passwd' succeeded in changing my password without any trouble. Re: [Bug 406626] Re: Deleted Items Folder inconsistently named in en_GB localisation
El dg 10 de 10 de 2010 a les 14:08 +, en/na melat0nin va escriure: This bug isn't entirely fixed - the tooltip for Rubbish Bin in the Nautilus sidebar still says 'Open the wastebasket'. We've dealt with the bulk of Wastebasket/Deleted Items translations now. Apart from the ones from Unity (fix committed) and transmission (separate bug, a step away from being fixed), there hasn't been any other report of inconsistencies. That particular string in Nautilus was fixed already, but a couple of days after the language pack deadline, thus it didn't make it to the final language packs: https://translations.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/maverick/+source/nautilus/+pots/nautilus/en_GB/+translate?batch=10show=allsearch=open+the+wastebasket The fix should be visible in the next language pack updates in a couple of weeks. I've attached a text file with other places where Wastebasket is still present in the system. You might want to change those too. You can find the strings in Launchpad using the same URL pattern as above. Here it is: https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/maverick/+source/$SOURCEPACKAGE/+pots/$TEMPLATE/en_GB/+translate?batch=10show=allsearch=open+the+wastebasket Often $SOURCEPACKAGE and $TEMPLATE are the same. If not, you can go to the source package translations page, look at the templates and simply click on them to go there. Note that some will be false positives and will already have been fixed, like the ones in Nautilus. I hope this helps. ** Attachment added: Wastebasket https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/406626/+attachment/1696407/+files/Wastebasket -- Deleted Items Folder inconsistently named in en_GB localisation https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/406626 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-applets in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
