[Bug 676060] Re: Cannot connect to ICQ
Instantbird states: ICQ connection error Recently users started to get an error (Error: Unknown reason) while attempting to connect to ICQ. This is being tracked in bug 582. ... Luckily there is an easy work around for now: 1. Open the account manager (Tools Accounts) 2. Select your ICQ account and click Properties 3. On the Advanced Options tab change the Server to login.icq.com and deselect Use SSL and Use clientLogin Other third party instant messaging clients using one of the old login servers were also affected. [Bug 652929] Re: maverick rc gnome-settings-dameon doesn't start
Adding sleep 2, is definitely *not* a solution, nothing but an ugly and hopefully interim workaround. I'm wondering why the gdm gnome-settings- daemon is not yet dead when the logging user process kicks in. Either it's stalled waiting for something late, or it is just too slow to die. I'm tempted to think it may be second case, my machine is pretty fast (dual 6 core Xeon X5650), in such case it may be upstream bug. PS1: Shall we consider changing the status of this bug? It seems confirmed. PS2: BTW, the title is wrong, it does affect production Maverick. [Bug 676436] [NEW] error during burning cd image made from rhythmbox 0.13.1
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: brasero I have a playlist in rhythmbox 0.13.1 I want to make an audio CD from. So, I clicked the icon for creating audio CDs in the playlist view. The direct method doesn't work (burn to CD). The burning part failed during writing the text information about the songs (tried on multiple CDs). So, I decided to use the other method - create an image and burn it. This doesn't work either, though. I have attached the brasero session log which was generated during that. After both of the failed attemps to burn the audio CD, the cd drive freezes. The led keeps flashing, but the drive does not respond neither to the hw button, nor the sw signals (eject -v). Hi, how can you ppl set this bug as low importance: 1. Q: Nowadays (2010 AD), what does the average user utilises a computer for? A: Social networking.. Q: What's one of the most common IM protocols? [Bug 676624] [NEW] Panel applets randomly fail to start.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel I run a bunch of panel applets, and have had many of them fail to start on login. Unfortunately I do not remember the error message, but it will happen again, so when it does I'll write down the error message and post an update. So far, applets that have failed this way are: Indicator Applet Session Clock Hardware Monitor Gnome Sensor Applet Usually nothing fails. Occasionally just one of these will fail. Rarely, more than one will fail. If I immediately log out and log back in, the failed panel applet is working again. On a related note, the Camera Monitor applet quite often (but not always) brings up an error message claiming it is already running on login. This failure is not as annoying as it does not require a logout to recover from. Since this affects so many different applets, I do not believe the problem is in the applets themselves, instead it must be in the gnome panel. [Bug 676595] Re: Nautilus crashed while typing in pidgin-conversation
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit. If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding. ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Invalid -- Nautilus crashed while typing in pidgin-conversation https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/676595 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 278919] Re: Cannot move mail to certain folders
I'm getting the same problem when I try to drag an attached (forwarded) e-mail to the inbox. Problem does not exist in Debian stable. Did something break in the newer versions of evolution. Re: [Bug 625670] Re: Not all desktop items are themed
That is nice to hear. That almost positively indicates that it is a race condition. Fast processor + fast hard drive means the systems are getting to the desktop before some process is ready. Hopefully that is enough information to pique the interest of a developer. Robert (Getut) From: Mike Roberts 625...@bugs.launchpad.net To: rtklu...@ngkceramics.com Date: 11/17/2010 02:26 PM Subject: [Bug 625670] Re: Not all desktop items are themed Sent by: boun...@canonical.com More information I'd like to add that, based on getut and aidanjt's comments, i tried a different hard drive in my laptop. I experienced this bug when using an Intel SSD, model number SSDSA2M080G2GC. Changed to an older 7200 RPM Samsung hard drive, reinstalled 10.10 x64 and all items (panels included) are themed properly. Be happy to help test to provide more info. Let me know.
