[Bug 681266] [NEW] F-spot 0.8.0 crashes after import
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: f-spot I'm having a very frustrating issue with F-spot Photo Manager, version 0.8.0-1, in Ubuntu 10.10. I've scanned the forums for days but have not happened upon a solution thus far. The application always crashes after importing photos --without moving the original files-- and will continue to crash after repeated attempts to launch the application. The only suitable work-around to open F-spot again is to delete the config folder in /home/username/.config/f-spot. But I can't seem to be able to import any photos into the library without the same process repeating itself. I've tried importing photos with Detect Duplicates turned off, but the same process occurs. Here is the output when launching F-spot from the terminal: [Info 17:14:20.634] Initializing Mono.Addins Exception in Gtk# callback delegate Note: Applications can use GLib.ExceptionManager.UnhandledException to handle the exception. [Bug 681224] Re: Gnome-about me does not start
Hi Cariboo907, This happens because you have installed the latest version of evolution- data-server (v. 2.32) and thus also the latest version of the package libebook1.2-10. Now, package gnome-control-center_2.32.1-0ubuntu1 is still depending on old libebook1.2-9. New evolution-data-server replaces that old libebook, and thus the gnome about me does not work. [Bug 546578] Re: black screen after a few user switches
** Description changed: + [Copycat - A blackscreen can also appear due to a bug in the NVidia + Graphics Driver. (goto bug #573101)] + [Problem] Up-to-date Lucid with radeon driver. After switching user a few times (usually between 3 and 5 times), the screen goes black with only the mouse cursor visible after entering the user's password. VTs are also completely black. Restarting gdm fixes the issue, and nothing odd appears in XOrg.0.log when the black screen occurs. - It also happens with KMS disabled. - It also happens with compiz disabled for all users. [Workaround] 1 Uninstall gnome-screensaver (see bug #555870 - something gnome-screensaver does is triggering this X bug) [Workaround] 2 Blindfold: Unlock session by typing password, then press Alt-F2 (call Run ... dialog), then type xgamma -gamma 1.0 and hit Enter [Workaround] 3 Update gnome-screensaver to 2.30.0-0ubuntu2 or higher (yet in proposed repo). Those versions are compiled with disabled fade on lock. [Bug 681387] [NEW] inconsistent behavior in gnome-terminal when changing font size in fullscreen
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-terminal When changing the font size in gnome-terminal, the terminal window is resized according to the new font size. I'm assuming this is because it is trying to keep the same row/column size, and now the pixel size. However, say gnome-terminal is in fullscreen mode (F11) and the font size is changed (I did this with the Ctrl+/Ctrl- shortcuts), and then gnome-terminal is taken out of fullscreen mode. Then the window will not have resized at all, to accommodated the new font size. That is, the window retains its pixel size, not its row/column size. [Bug 680440] Re: crashes ubuntu
Thank you for using Ubuntu and taking the time to report a bug. Your report should contain, at a minimum, the following information so we can better find the source of the bug and work to resolve it. Submitting the bug about the proper source package is essential. For help see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . Additionally, in the report please include: 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'cat /etc/lsb-release' or System - About Ubuntu. 2) The version of the package you are using, via 'dpkg -l PKGNAME | cat' or by checking in Synaptic. 3) What happened and what you expected to happen. The Ubuntu community has also created debugging procedures for a wide variety of packages at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures . Following the debugging instructions for the affected package will make your bug report much more complete. Yet the ~/Desktop folder appears fine in Nautilus; there are some files and folders there; and I can move new ones there. I ran gconf-editor /apps/nautilus/preferences/show_desktop The checkbox was checked, i.e. value true. I unchecked it; then rechecked it. The problem went away. The problem occurred twice. Re: [Bug 635763] Re: empathy-av crashed with SIGSEGV in g_closure_invoke()
Hello Omar, I'm afraid I cannot reproduce the crash. Now when I try to start a voice conversation in Empathy (or respond to a call) the voice interface just closes without an error or a crash. I can still run it in debugger mode and attached the output, but Ubuntu does not detect a crash anymore and Empathy just works normally (without voice calls). [Bug 681567] [NEW] [regression] With slow mice, opening a right-click context menu immediately executes the first entry
Public bug reported: Repro steps: 1. Connect a mouse whose button press/release events arrive slowly. 2. Open any gtk app. (For example, gedit or gcalctool.) 3. Right-click somewhere to open a context menu whose first item is selectable. (For example, in gedit just type something and then right-click on the text area--the first item will be Undo and will be selectable. In gcalctool, type in a number, highlight it, and then right-click on the number--the first item will be Cut and will be selectable.) What I expect to happen: A context menu should appear and wait for the user to make a selection. What happens instead: A context menu appears and disappears and the app immediately executes the first entry without any further clicks. The user doesn't even have enough time to see what has happened. Obviously this is disorientating and annoying. This is a regression--it used to work fine. I think it started after the update to Maverick. I believe the problem only occurs with mice that have a large delay between the button press event and the button release event. The built- in trackpad and buttons in my laptop do NOT trigger the problem, but my external mouse does. (The external mouse came with my Wacom Bamboo CTE-450 tablet.) From looking at the timestamps in the xev tool, it appears that the external mouse has a much longer delay between the two events than the internal mouse (xev output is attached). The problem can be avoided in two ways, but neither is convenient: 1) By holding down the right mouse button, moving the mouse over the desired context menu entry, and then releasing the right mouse button. 2) By moving the mouse left and/or up while clicking, so that the mouse button is released quickly but at a different location on screen that is not over the context menu. Note that slowly moving the mouse to another area of the screen and releasing does NOT work because gtk dismisses the context menu if the button was held down for a certain amount of time before releasing. The problem only occurs in native gtk apps. Other apps such as Firefox and OpenOffice are not affected. To solve the problem, I recommend the following: 1) Create the context menu down-and-right of the mouse pointer, so that the mouse pointer is not over the first item when the right mouse button is released. AND 2) Increase the delay before treating a button release as a distinct event. [Bug 681629] [NEW] evolution calendar appointments activates on 'one' click, should be 2 click
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution In evolution calendar; I view it in month-view and I can see the appointments, but when I click on one appointment, instead of being highlighted only, it gets to be able to modify appointment title. So I can change the title of the appointment even if I did not want that. When I want to finish that (get away from that appointment, even without being modified) it will end it only with 'enter' button or right click. I dont know it is a bug or not but it would be better to deactivate/de-highlight the appointment with clicking somewhere else in the window. I always activate one by mistakenly clicking on them. In case I want to change it, I would open it fully using double click. With one click should be highlighted only and not to be able to modify it. When I hover the mouse over an appointment it would be nice to see even the details of it (such as with tasks) not only the title and the date. an option in settings should be available for that, I have not found one yet. Thanks ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: evolution 2.30.3-1ubuntu7.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-22.35-generic 2.6.35.4 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-22-generic i686 NonfreeKernelModules: wl Architecture: i386 Date: Fri Nov 26 01:09:40 2010 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/evolution InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Lucid Lynx - Release i386 (20100429) ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=hu_HU:hu:en_GB:en LANG=hu_HU.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: evolution ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 maverick -- evolution calendar appointments activates on 'one' click, should be 2 click https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/681629 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
