[Bug 626724] Re: Putting the mouse over a document for example illuminates the document - but too hard
@Paul As far as I am aware, the issue isn't about the rendering of text in a document, rather the rending of text atop the icon of a document, which is a completely different issue. The text on the icon, at least in my tests, is to small to be legible in the default installation, even without the highlighting, which I do not see as a problem since making the test of an A4 document legible as an icon would require an increase in the size of said icon several times to a point where it was too large to be practical. ** Summary changed: - Putting the mouse over an document for example illuminates the document - but too hard + Putting the mouse over a document for example illuminates the document - but too hard -- Putting the mouse over a document for example illuminates the document - but too hard https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/626724 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Hi, I have gone through some of the standard CD-DVD Burner Softwares, both commercial and open source types. I found, in case of 'properties', the term 'Preferences' is the most appropriate and after pressing the 'properties' button (or the 'Preferences' button), there (in the 'Location for Image File' window) can be two options at the bottom right of the window, such as [1] OK and [2] Cancel. I found these very traditional and can help both type of users who are using BRASERO for the first time and also the regular users . Speculating, but I wonder if this is because Evince currently renders completely new text on a solid background over the top of the document, rather than highlighting the text that was already drawn in the document; eg. the highlight does not exactly match the shape/size of the original document text and neither can the original text be seen underneath when the highlight is active. -- Putting the mouse over an document for example illuminates the document - but too hard https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/626724 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-disk-utility I did a format on a 2GB SD card by right clicking on the SD card icon and selecting format, under FAT windows/linux compatible file system settings. It then asks you what you'd like the volume label to be - if you type in anything over 11 characters, the process then errors out - but with an error message which does not hint to the user that the real problem is their length volume label. [Bug 419143] Re: Printing from evince (and perhaps other GTK apps) to PostScript printers is broken
Everyone who has still problems, do the following: 1. Attach the file which does not print. 2. Follow the instructions of the sections "CUPS error_log" and "Capturing print job data" on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems 3. Convert the captured print data to PostScript with the "pdftops" command. 4. Tell us the size of the original file, the captured print data, and the resulting PostScript file. 5. Attach all files. Do not hesitate to attach big files. Attach the files one by one, do not package them together and do not compress them. Only if the resulting PostScript file is so big that it takes you hours or days to upload, do not upload it. 6. [Bug 629257] Re: indicator applet 0.4.6: "Laptop battery (estimating...)" for days on end when discharge/charge time not known
** Description changed: The drop-down menu for the indicator-applet battery icon menu says "Laptop battery (estimating...)" At a minimum this be fixed to read "Laptop batter (estimating time...)" or "Laptop battery (estimating battery life...)". Ideally if the remaining battery *time* is not known (because less than sufficient datapoints have been collected to enable estimation) then the percentage should be displayed in-lieu. The percentage is already available and is used to drive the indicator-applet icon itself. The current implementation is specified by: - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BatteryStatusMenu#Items + https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BatteryStatusMenu#Items but because the "estimating..." text can exist for days-on-end (nearly a week in the case of this computer) it probably needs a slight tweak or design addition to take account of the time estimation not being available for long periods of time. + + See bug #629258 for previous (lukewarm) discussions on the lower-stack + issues. This two bugs might want re-splitting/sorting again based on + those that relate to the chrono estimate not being known, and those that + relate to the pointless display of that unknown data for long periods of + time. -- indicator applet 0.4.6: "Laptop battery (estimating...)" for days on end when discharge/charge time not known https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/629257 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a subscriber of a duplicate bug (38795). -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 560465] Re: evolution don't decrypt pgp encrypted message with text/plain content-type
Two emails, one decrypts and the other doesn't, despite both being text/plain. Interestingly the one that works is ISO latin 1, and the one that fails is UTF8.
