[Bug 684588] [NEW] exit from full screen doesn't restore display resolution
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System -> About Ubuntu. "You are using Ubuntu 10.10 - the Maverick Meerkat - released in October 2010 and supported until April 2012." 2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy packagename' or by checking in Synaptic. Source: totem Version: 2.32.0-0ubuntu1 3) What you expected to happen I browsed to http://www.cedricblaisbois.com/EP_SPECIAL_TEASER.html and totem plugin showed up, so i tried using that to play the video. I selected "full screen" from the context menu. The monitor resolution was changed. I expected the resolution to be restored after exiting full screen mode. (Also, the 1360x768 resolution that totem switched to didn't make sense, but that's probably because my display wasn't recognised on install so it probably thought I had a 16:9 screen.) 4) What happened instead Monitor resolution was not restored after exiting full screen mode. [Bug 489723] Re: Since upgrade to Karmic (9.10), Rhythmbox occasionally freezes during mp3 playback. I have not been able to reproduce the bug with any consistency.
I am experiencing this bug in Maverick. I'm not using the Pidgin plugin, nor streaming audio over the internet. Sometimes Rhythmbox will play my playlist for approx. 4 hours before freezing, other times it's less than 10 minutes. Sometimes it freezes at the end of a song, and will not continue to the next song; other times it freezes in the middle of a song. Any attempt to switch to a different song causes the whole program to lock up. If no attempt to switch songs is made, Rhythmbox can be closed normally by the close button in the title bar. The next time Rhythmbox is run, it opens for about 15 seconds before spontaneously closing again. Opening Rhythmbox again allows normal usage, until playback freezes again. I read in another bug that turning on Crossfading should help with this problem. I'll try it out and report back. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/489723 Title: Since upgrade to Karmic (9.10), Rhythmbox occasionally freezes during mp3 playback. [Bug 580300] Re: IMAP not able to fetch messages
Are you using IMAP+ or just the old IMAP ? There is a critical implementation flaw in the old regular IMAP feature in Evolution. The problem probably is, from what I've gathered, the protocol-implementation in regards to the "FETCH UID" and "FETCH BODY"-statements, which are implemented incorrectly, as they are based on an "assumption" of how the communication with the email-server will be and not the established IMAP4-definition. When the "assumption" coincidently matches the actual communication with the email-server its works, however for some instances and systems, it will not work. The new IMAP+-implementation seems more consistent, so I'll recommend that one. (for some systems there might still be issues in regards to the use the message-filter feature in Evolution) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/580300 Title: IMAP not able to fetch messages -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 684519] [NEW] Scrolling in "single click to open" mode leaves behind text underlines
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Nautilus doesn't appear to clean up the text underlines in "single click" mode properly. This can result in several files having the hover state underline when using the mouse scroll wheel to stop hovering items. Steps to reproduce: # Enable "single click to open items" mode in the "File Management Preferences" dialog. # Find a directory with a large number of files. # Change the Nautilus view to "list view". # Hover an icon (the text should be underlined). # Scroll down the list with the mouse scroll wheel. The text underline stays on the previous file, and another appears on the new file. Leaving the window or passing the mouse over the offending items removes all the hover underlines. [Bug 588155] Re: randomly gnome-settings-daemon fails to start
I spoke too soon in declaring the bug squashed. I had some trouble printing a document, fiddled with CUPS, tried to see the print queue via System->Administration->Printing, and then saw my theme revert to the default theme. The printer I was using is a network printer, and it worked fine this morning. Between then and the failure to work, there were no major changes to my system. I'm still using the regular gnome panel instead of Docky, and I haven't re-installed the sun-java6-plugin package that I first thought was the source of the problem. I just posted a little more detail in the other thread (the link is in posts #9 and #10 ITT), but basically, I'm thinking this could be due to using older hardware. I'm using a 5 year-old Sony Vaio PCG-K45 with 3.2 GHz P4 and 1 Gb of RAM. [Bug 640018] Re: empathy throws untrusted certificate warning on google chat services using google apps (non-google domains)
This problem is still occuring, for any Jabber account where the server name in the certificate is not exactly the same as the Jabber domain name being used. E.g. you have a valid certificate for jabber.example.com, which serves @example.com accounts. When you connect, you get: The identity provided by the chat server cannot be verified. The hostname verified by the certificate doesn't match the server name. Expected hostname: example.com Certificate hostname: jabber.example.com There are two problems here. First, empathy is ignoring the fact that Jabber service for example.com has been properly delegated to jabber.example.com via a SRV record: _xmpp-server._tcp.example.com has SRV record 0 0 5269 jabber.example.com Secondly, although the user is allowed to accept this mismatch, empathy does not remember this decision, so the problem recurs at every reconnect. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to empathy in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/640018 Title: empathy throws untrusted certificate warning on google chat services using google apps (non-google domains) -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 415692] Re: I cannot disable touchpad tapping because there is no option on the mouse preferences dalog and gsynaptics will not run.
xinput can be used on the command line to enable or disable tapping, via the "Synaptics Tap Action" property. There are also properties for changing the speed, sensitivity, etc. See `man synaptics` and `man xinput` for more information. However, the bug report appears to be requesting a GUI mechanism for adjusting these parameters, so I am reassigning this bug report to gnome-control-center as a wishlist bug for requesting the gui dialog to set them. ** Package changed: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (Ubuntu) => gnome- control-center (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Low => Wishlist ** Changed in: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/415692 Title: I cannot disable touchpad tapping because there is no option on the mouse preferences dalog and gsynaptics will not run. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
