I think I know what's happening. I have been synchronizing a few albums at a time, slowly filling my 16GB iPhone. At some stage, the total amount of music becomes larger than the total amount of free space. When the synchronizing failed in my case, I had something like 7.2GB of music with 7.0GB free space. It is as if Rhythmbox wants to be sure it can copy all music, rather than figuring out what's new and ensuring there is enough space on the device for the new music. I.e. everything was fine when I had 7.0GB of music and 7.2GB of free space. I bet that if I delete all music from my iPhone and then synchronize my entire music collection it will work without any problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/771636 Title: Rhythmbox reports "There is not enough space on the device to transfer the selected music, playlists and podcasts" when amount of free space lower than total music collection, opposed to size of changes to be pushed to mobile device. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 737891] Re: [Arrandale] gnome-display-properties unable to correctly enable monitors connected to VGA
Right, and 761236 is looking like a dupe of a common Arrandale bug, #745112. That in turn *might* be a sub-case of bug #761065 which affects late-model cards and for which a kernel fix is being verified. So, as to the disposition of this bug report: We've factored out the single-monitor issue Andres had, so what remains is the multi-monitor case, where total X width is >4096. As mentioned above in comment #15, the X portion of that issue is essentially just bug #555641 and not something we need to track here. The bug watch on the upstream FDO bug appears to be focusing on that aspect of this bug. After factoring out those two X bugs, the one remaining bit is that gnome-display-properties is failing to check for screen width >4096 when compiz is running. Basically, gnome-desktop must include a check that target resolution <= max texture width if compiz is enabled. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu Natty) Status: Confirmed => Invalid ** Changed in: gnome-desktop (Ubuntu Natty) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: gnome-desktop (Ubuntu Natty) Status: Invalid => New ** Changed in: gnome-desktop (Ubuntu Natty) Milestone: None => natty-updates ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu Natty) Importance: High => Wishlist -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-desktop in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/737891 Title: [Arrandale] gnome-display-properties unable to correctly enable monitors connected to VGA -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 771470] [NEW] open/save dialog doesn't remember last folder across sessions
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gedit Open a new gedit instance, the open and save dialogs both default to the home folder. Now open or save a document in another folder, for example ~/Documents. From then on all further invocations of a dialog within this window will default to ~/Documents. Now open a new gedit window or close and reopen gedit or even just drag a new tab out of window #1 to create a new window. The dialogs in window #2 again default to the home folder instead of remembering the folder you last used to open or save a document. I very much doubt that is intended and by design but even if it was especially in case of the drag tab out of window it really makes no sense. I don't think upstream is very interested in this kind of usability bug. There are a few related bugs e.g. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gedit/+bug/86989 unresolved for years. Gedit 2.9 in GNOME 3 is still affected. In case you came here looking for a solution, some kind of workaround: alt+1 switches to Documents, alt+D to documents, alt+f focuses the search bar... seems to work in all gtk file dialogs. ** Affects: gedit (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: dialog ui usability -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gedit in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/771470 Title: open/save dialog doesn't remember last folder across sessions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 762187] Re: recurring 10 min invalid query dialog box from google contact sync
Ah, oops. I actually meant "LIBGDATA_DEBUG=3", not 1. Again, you need to fully stop evolution and e-addressbook-factory first, then start the factory with LIBGDATA_DEBUG=3; then start evolution. The logs there (which will also contain private data, so be careful), would contain the cause for the crash. Normally you'd only need to paste here the last few messages. Note: your account name needs to match exactly with what you'd enter to log in to Google, so if there is a dot, you need to have it there too; otherwise it's a different account, and it won't work ;) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/762187 Title: recurring 10 min invalid query dialog box from google contact sync -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 762187] Re: recurring 10 min invalid query dialog box from google contact sync
By now all you should be getting for error messages should be "Cannot connect to service's server", if it shows up. Is Evolution marked as working online? (Make sure the Work Offline checkbox is unchecked in the File menu). Past that, we'll need to completely stop evolution (In a terminal: evolution --force-shutdown ; killall -9 e-addressbook-factory), then start the addressbook factory in debug mode (again, in a terminal): LIBGDATA_DEBUG=1 /usr/lib/evolution/e-addressbook-factory --debug And start evolution again. Carefully check the messages that show up in the terminal window running e-addressbook-factory, the last message or so (or one before a big bunch of data), should contain the reason why the addressbook fails to start properly. ** Changed in: evolution (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/762187 Title: recurring 10 min invalid query dialog box from google contact sync -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 737891] Re: [Arrandale] gnome-display-properties unable to correctly enable monitors connected to VGA
I installed Natty Beta2 this weekend on my HP laptop. I run it with an Acer 22" external monitor. I prefer the big screen (to the left) as primary and the laptop screen (to the right) for email and IM. I only had to edit the ~/.config/monitors.xml to set the VGA screen to primary to get the setup I needed. After some updates this weekend, i can no longer get the external monitor to work with Unity. On bootup I get both screens with the login screen on the laptop. If I choose Unity, the external monitor freaks out like this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pK5AfUzg6UA Mean while the laptop screen has a freely moving mouse, but not much else. If I go into Ubuntu classic mode, I get Gnome 2 and the resolutions work just fine. When I try Unity again it freaks out. I've tried deleting the ~/.config and restarting. That seemed to have helped..until I restarted. The odd thing is that somehow my "left is primary" was retained even without the monitor.xml. [Bug 771192] [NEW] Brasero don't burn cause he eject CDs after simulation
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: brasero If I use CDs or CD-RW with Xfburn all works properly. I dont' know with DVD or DVD-RW. So, if I try to burn an .iso image on CD or CD-RW with Brasero it fails if I use simulation. If I don't use simulation burning works properly but he can eject the CD. Firt scenario, step to reproduce in my case: 1) burn an .iso image 2) in propertie tick simulation and burn prof 3) start burning Then: - After simulation step, Brasero says me to eject disc. - Burning fails. Second scenario: burn without simulation. He works properly but also in this case he don't eject the media (see attach for screenshoot error). In attached: - hwinfo - apt-cache show - brasero -g with simulation - brasero session - brasero -g without simulation - screenshoot with request to eject the CD (request.png) - screenshoot with conseguential error (error.png) ** Affects: brasero (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to brasero in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/771192 Title: Brasero don't burn cause he eject CDs after simulation -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
