[Bug 800060] [NEW] Symmetry: Burn image followed by disc copy to iso produces an iso different from the original one.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: brasero I tried to use dvdisater to secure my backups. It won' work with Brasero because the iso created from a disk is different from the iso burnt onto that disk. The number of sectors differ. [Bug 800065] Re: gnome-settings-daemon crashed with SIGSEGV
** Description changed: Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon This crash with what appears to be a corrupt stack trace occurs most of the time shortly after starting unity-2d sessions on Oneiric daily- lives. This particular instance of the crash occurred on a custom CD I created from the 20110620 daily-live for the purpose of investigating a different (probably unrelated) bug, with all packages brought up to date (therefore, this CD is probably quite similar to the forthcoming 20110621 daily-live). I suspect this will turn out the same as two previous occurrences (invalid bug 796465 and invalid bug 798722). If so, then I'll try to obtain a backtrace manually and/or attempt to produce it on a custom daily-live with debug symbols installed. + This might be bug 788710. The crash in bug 788710 occurs on the same + machine if I log out and back in (and this crash does not). I'm not sure + what would cause the stack to be corrupt only for the first login, + though. + ProblemType: Crash DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10 Package: gnome-settings-daemon 3.0.2-1ubuntu3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.0-1.2-generic 3.0.0-rc3 Uname: Linux 3.0-1-generic i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Tue Jun 21 07:50:04 2011 Disassembly: = 0x7cc5a70:Cannot access memory at address 0x7cc5a70 ExecutablePath: /usr/lib/gnome-settings-daemon/gnome-settings-daemon LiveMediaBuild: Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot - Alpha i386 (20110620) ProcCmdline: /usr/lib/gnome-settings-daemon/gnome-settings-daemon ProcEnviron: - LANGUAGE= - PATH=(custom, no user) - LANG=en_US.UTF-8 + LANGUAGE= + PATH=(custom, no user) + LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SegvAnalysis: - Segfault happened at: 0x7cc5a70: Cannot access memory at address 0x7cc5a70 - PC (0x07cc5a70) not located in a known VMA region (needed executable region)! + Segfault happened at: 0x7cc5a70: Cannot access memory at address 0x7cc5a70 + PC (0x07cc5a70) not located in a known VMA region (needed executable region)! [Bug 799708] Re: greek philosopher on screen
I have attached a screenshot of said philosopher, with an image of Pythagoras alongside so you can see for your very eyes the amazing resemblance. Now bear with me for a second, but I will have you know my dear comrades, that I have uncovered a major security bug in Ubuntu. This screenshot is clear and irrefutable evidence that there is among the Ubuntu development team, a secret Pythagorean sect!! I have attached within this screenshot another image that shows the monitor preferences menu icon, and lo and behold, a RIGHT ANGLE TRIANGLE! I am sure if we were to dig deeper there would be even more Neopythagorean elements in this product created by these masterminds. What does this mean? It means irrational numbers are not safe! [Bug 800129] [NEW] Evolution timeout when trying to copy contacts

[Bug 800147] [NEW] encrypt/decrypt on CIFS share does not work with seahorse-tool for files 57kb
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: seahorse-plugins Encrypting and decyrypting files with seahorse-tool (via right-click in nautilus) fails on cifs shares. It still works on locally mounted disks. Looks like seahorse-tool has problems working with files on a cifs share, if file size is above 57k. Symptoms: - Copying files per cp or drag-and-drop onto and from the cifs share works without errors - PGP-encrypting a file via right click on a cifs share leads to the generation of a .pgp file. But this file seems to be cut off at a maximum size of 57344 bytes. The original file had 251327 bytes. When I try to decrypt the file, it chooses the right key, but the produced file is unreadable (probably just misses the previously cut-off part). - When trying to decrypt a healthy .pgp file (can be decrypted on a local disk w/o problems), de-cryption produces a file that is again cut-off at 57344 bytes. - Encrypting and de-crypting a file of only 28k works fne on the cifs share The syslog shows the following error message: montreal kernel: [ 934.789391] CIFS VFS: Send error in Close = -512 sometimes the log also shows montreal kernel: [ 4794.063692] CIFS VFS: Send error in Close = -11 but I cannot say whether it relates to seahorse. [Bug 435719] Re: gvfs-fuse fails to start on NFS mounted homes
I just came across this bug when debugging OOo on SMB shares. Therefore i enhanced the proposed workaround by Timo so that the quirk only gets executed if $HOME is really on a NFS share. Tested it successfully on an old karmic machine and the current lucid workstations. Just see the attachment. Comments highly welcome. Of course a proper solution would be a NFS mode in GVFS, but as this requires probably requires a lot of changes to GVFS this is no real solution for a backport. Therefore would we could include this script in the gvfs packages as SRU, as it only gets active on NFS setups. ** Attachment added: 51gvfs-fuse-on-nfs https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/435719/+attachment/2176974/+files/51gvfs-fuse-on-nfs -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/435719 Title: gvfs-fuse fails to start on NFS mounted homes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gvfs/+bug/435719/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I notice you're running Lucid (Ubuntu 10.04). Could I suggest you try a newer release (the latest stable is 11.04) and see whether the trash can icon has changed and is less bothersome to look at? Sadly, however, the Monitors icon still shows a right-angle triangle... if that's a showstopper bug, we'll have to warn the pythagorean sect to be more inconspicuous, er, ask the designers to maybe consider changing that icon. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/799708 Title: greek philosopher on screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/799708/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 798290] Re: tha app crash when i want to ìlistening the radio
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit. If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'.
