[Bug 108818] Re: Join/leave messages make chatrooms with many members almost unreadable
** Description changed: Binary package hint: xchat-gnome - When joinging a large Chat-Room (such as #ubuntu or #ubuntu-release- + When joining a large Chat-Room (such as #ubuntu or #ubuntu-release- party) the discussion gets totally bogged down by the join leave messages. So if more than 1000 members are in a chatroom sometimes more than 7 of 10 messages are just join/leave which leaves much less room to the - alreaddy fast moving ocnversation and makes it very difficult to follow + already fast moving conversation and makes it very difficult to follow it. Other irc-clients have a sort of conference mode for this, so that if a - room contians more than N members, they stop showing the join/leave + room contains more than N members, they stop showing the join/leave messages. I'd like that. :) Good numbers for N could be either 10, 30 or 60 members, though that could also be determined empirically, that is the number of members to a chatroom when the join / leave messages start to get more on the nerves - than they are usefull. + than they are useful. :) Martin ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Sun Apr 22 09:22:48 2007 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 7.04 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/xchat-gnome Package: xchat-gnome 1:0.16-0ubuntu3 PackageArchitecture: i386 ProcCmdline: xchat-gnome ProcCwd: /home/dwt ProcEnviron: - LANGUAGE=de_DE:de:en_GB:en - PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games - LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 - SHELL=/bin/bash + LANGUAGE=de_DE:de:en_GB:en + PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games + LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: xchat-gnome Uname: Linux dwts-laptop 2.6.20-15-generic #2 SMP Sun Apr 15 07:36:31 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to xchat-gnome in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/108818 Title: Join/leave messages make chatrooms with many members almost unreadable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xchat-gnome/+bug/108818/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 801043] [NEW] locations autocomplete in date/time dialog is not intuitive for common locations
Public bug reported: In the Date dialog time and date settings clock locations dialog, when trying to add non-obscure locations such as san francisco (only US city showing for 'san' is 'san antonio' in texas), sydney (shows up as 'syd' so typing 'sydn' gets nothing) and london (nothing in the UK appears) in the autocomplete filter, these locations either don't show, or show under wrong titles. Alternately, searching for usa gets locations in africa and russia, united gets no results, and calif gets no results, so there appears to be no attempt to match against the smaller text appearing alongside the location title either. This is on a freshly upgraded from 10.10 to 11.04 system. I dearly missed having this feature in 10.10, and call me hard to please, but I'd like to have it actually usable if it's there now. [Bug 792085] Re: Automatic remount of safely removed drive
Daniel Richard G. from Bug #507309 : usb-creator has a strange quirk in that when it starts up, it (re)mounts all unmounted partitions on all connected USB drives---even those drives on which the Safely remove drive operation has been performed, but are still plugged into the USB bus. This is with icons and everything on the desktop; this is clearly some sort of interaction with udev, similar to what occurs when a USB drive is plugged in. I am filing this report to request that this mount everything behavior be removed. It is inappropriate for usb-creator to do this, not least because it may then go on to perform destructive operations on some of these newly-mounted filesystems! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/792085 Title: Automatic remount of safely removed drive To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/792085/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 779509] Re: Impossible to remove layout selected during OS installation
I changed the title and description so that it is clearer what the bug is actually about. I hope it is clearer, if it is not, feel free to improve on it. Also added gnome-control-center, because it contains gnome-keyboard-properties that are the gui for removing and adding keyboard layouts. I am not sure the bug is there though. ** Description changed: Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon Ubuntu 11.04 (natty) Kernel 2.6.38-8-generic (#42-Ubuntu SMP Mon Apr 11 03:31:50 UTC 2011) Gnome 2.32.1 (Ubuntu 2011-04-14) gnome-settings-daemon 2.32.1-0ubuntu13.1 - Description: the keyboard layout settings, when changed to new defaults in a session, is not remembered across reboots. Upon reboot, it will revert back to the original defaults as if it had not registered/saved the changes in settings. - Originally, my purpose was to suppress the indicator by removing the additional keyboard layout that was added at installation. I really use only one layout: fr_CH and therefore I don't need this keyboard switch indicator in the tray. [Bug 540280] Re: openssh (or gvfs) asks for a password everytime I change directory in sftp
OK this patch fixes it, although it probably stops you from using bazaar from nautilus over gvfs-mounted sftp locations. Although that didn't appear to work anyway. Patch for /usr/lib/nautilus/extensions-2.0/python/nautilus-bzr.py package: nautilus-bzr version: 0.100.0-2ubuntu2 (natty) The problem was with the call to WorkingTree.open_containing(file) in function get_background_items. This was launching another sftp connection even though nautilus had already opened one. This resulted in a second prompt for the password on connection and when changing directories - although it didn't seem to matter whether you entered your password or not - the bazaar/nautilus integration didn't seem to work over sftp locations. ** Patch added: nautilus-bzr_sftpfix.py.diff https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bzr-gtk/+bug/540280/+attachment/2179384/+files/nautilus-bzr_sftpfix.py.diff -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/540280 Title: openssh (or gvfs) asks for a password everytime I change directory in sftp To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bzr-gtk/+bug/540280/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we can't fix it because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read How to report bugs effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Thanks! When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the appropriate application's Help - Report a Problem menu or using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. [Bug 797837] Re: Evolution crashes when scrolling through message
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit. If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Re: [Bug 682752] dvi with .eps - either crashes (on startup) or images aren't displayed
The issue in Natty is fixed. In Natty Evince 2.32.0 is able to open up a .dvi with a .eps figure and it works. In Maverick Evince 2.32.0 crashes. In Lucid with Evince 2.30.3 the .dvi opens up with no .eps figure present, and no bounding box on where the image should be. I tested the .eps in .dvi problem on two seperate computers with Natty installed ( laptop and desktop ). Both have 64 bit Natty installed. I have not tested Natty 32bit. [Bug 799590] Re: Error sync with GMAIL IMAP
You can learn more about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs. ** Changed in: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low ** Changed in: evolution (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/799590 Title: Error sync with GMAIL IMAP To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/799590/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
