[Bug 574693] Re: nautilus ftp file transfer hangs in lucid
I have same problem in Ubuntu 11.04 x64 when connecting to Windows 2008 x64 host. FTP in Nautilus was going wierd just after update from Ubuntu 10.10. When I try to make a duplicate of file in a connected ftp folder with Ctrl-C / Ctrl-V, Nautilus return to computer:/// place or just close (besides, operation is completed). Copy several files / folder structure to an ftp site causes same issue, and really copied 1 file. Replacing files and cut/paste operations causes issues too. Other clients (bareFTP, Filezilla) work fine. So I assume that gvfs-ftp support in Nautilus or gvfs-ftp is completely broken. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/574693 Title: nautilus ftp file transfer hangs in lucid To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/574693/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 787280] Re: evolution reports 0 bytes size for emails that aren't
- Yes, it is reproducible for all imap and imapx folders. It happens for me when I add or move messages to other imap folders. However, when others imap clients (either thunderbird, or evolution on another machine) move them then the size is reported OK. It looks like evolution keeps the wrong size of the message in it's local cache when it moves the message itself. - The same occurs for messages with an attachment. The attachment indicator is not shown. This is particularly annoying when you are searching for that one important message with an attachment which is now shown as 0 size without attachment. - The bug exists since Maverick as far as I know, but is still present on Natty. - Please raise the importance of this issue. [Bug 762918] Re: Natty Screensaver freezes system after some period of inactivity
The question is that i don't think the pc freezes really. The screen saver is slow and crashes but the computer continues to work in background. The other day i saw my screensaver stopped and under the screen appeared popups of Opera that warned me for news emails. Then if i stop the screensaver just in time when it still is slow but not crashed, the screensaver disappears but the computer continues to work slowly. One time i found gnome-screensaver in gnome-system-monitor; i killed it and the system began to work again. [Bug 685215] Re: users-admin hangs immediately when run as root
In most operating systems I worked on (and that includes a lot of different Unix flavours), the most natural system administration account used when one needs to create user accounts, is that of the system admin. For some reason Linux does it the other way round: root cannot do it and everybody else can. Best of all the reason invoked is that it potentially creates security issues (probably more than everybody being able to create user accounts). Surely, all other operating systems are wrong and Linux is undoubtedly right. Luckily enough people in the know relentlessly enlighten simpletons like me with sentences along the tune of you should not do/need etc. No doubt the amount of time spent initiating us mere mortals is nothing compared to what would be necessary to test whether the currently executing user is 'root', issue an informative message box and exit... or just doing nothing and let root sys admins use sys admin tools. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-system-tools in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/685215 Title: users-admin hangs immediately when run as root To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-system-tools/+bug/685215/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 685215] Re: users-admin hangs immediately when run as root
users-admin is _dead_. So don't expect us to work on it anymore. File bugs against the new control center if there are. And any OS that suggests you to run a graphical session as root is dumb. There are hundreds of ways a GUI can create security holes. Creating an admin account that isn't root has all the advantages of the latter, and none of the drawbacks.
@alainpannetier You have misunderstood. Non-administrators cannot create user accounts (nor can they perform other administrative tasks). Being root is not the same thing as being an administrator. And the security model you are misunderstanding does not apply to Linux-based operating systems as a whole (just to some distributions, including Ubuntu), nor does it apply only to Linux-based operating systems. (For example, openSUSE doesn't use this security model, but Mac OS X does. And Debian formally supports this security model but also formally supports a different model.) I Ubuntu, for many administrative tasks, administrators run programs as root with sudo (or its graphical frontends, gksu, gksudo, and kdesudo). Only administrators can do this--regular users cannot. For other administrative tasks, like creating/managing user accounts with users- admin, the PolicyKit daemon (which itself runs as root) is asked to perform administrative operations--it will only agree to perform them if the user who is asking is an administrator. This bug is not a good place to discuss the general issue of how authentication is performed for administrative tasks. Please read https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RootSudo and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PolicyKit if you have not done so already, and if you are still want to discuss or ask about this matter, please post a question (https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+addquestion). [Bug 489412] Always enough drive for bed
Sexual impotence in men is one of the most poorly explored medical impairments. Dear 489293, Even if your sex life is already rich and fulfilling... Imagine you had a little more energy... if your erections stayed harder... or you could go just a little longer... Or maybe you worry, when you climb under the covers, that you’re starting something you can’t finish? Well, now advancements in natural medicine are making it easier than ever to promote a strong libido, firm, natural erections and enhanced desire. Now thanks to this exciting natural breakthrough, you could get an erection “on demand” and when you do, sustain it long enough – and keep firm enough — to fully satisfy your wife in bed. Even if you’re in your 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s or older! As a doctor, I’ve learned something over the years that may surprise you — age has very little to do with sex. There are men out there having the best sex of their lives well into their 80th year and beyond. And those men have three key things in common that their sex starved friends don’t: Hard, recurring erections... Heightened desire and stamina... And a reproductive system that could be functioning at the top of its game... Lucky? You bet. But you too could give your body the nutrients it needs to support your entire sexual health. If minor depression symptoms clearly interfere with your life you should visit a doctor! -- www.pillstace.ru -- -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to brasero in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/489412 Title: No space on blank DVD To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/brasero/+bug/489412/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
