[Bug 808247] [NEW] Touchscreen usability problems
Public bug reported: Touchscreens may not be the primary Evince use-case, but so far it is the only djvu viewer (in particular) I've found (amongst Ubuntu repositories) that's usable with the touchscreen for reading books page by page (ie in 90deg rotated fullscreen mode). This is thanks to the onscreen page forward back buttons maintained in that mode (but eliminated by other viewers in fullscreen). But this remains problematic in several ways: 1) fit page width is not fitting the page width, but the page height when the document is rotated. Depending on the margins, the left side of the text may be truncated. 2) if this happens, there's no way to scroll left, because the mouse does not become a hand tool in fullscreen mode 3) it would also be useful if it were possible to scroll to the next or previous screen with touchscreen touches (left click drag) 4) best fit does display the whole page, but, because most documents have margins, the text is unnecessarily small, so a fit visible that closely fits the *actual text* to the window would be much better 5) failing this, custom zoom levels would be very useful, particularly combined with the ability to consistently display the same region of the page (ie the text...), or to navigate around the screen with mouse drags. ** Affects: evince (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: evince netbook tablet ubuntu usability -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/808247 Title: Touchscreen usability problems To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/808247/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 665548] Re: changing workspaces is very slow in case of big terminal windows
Yes, I have the issue with natty too. However, it's not always the case (as it was not before either), usually it does not happen after reboot and then it starts to happen after a while. It's annoying since a big terminal window I often use (btw: it can be a case with more terminal windows on the same workspace as well: it seems somehow the sum of the surface counts??) it can be 4-5 seconds to switch workspace. I am not using unity/compiz/desktop effects etc all, but classic desktop (without compiz) but metacity's internal composite support is enabled though! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to vte in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/665548 Title: changing workspaces is very slow in case of big terminal windows To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vte/+bug/665548/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 808291] [NEW] AisleRiot Solitaire: Statistics Window won't close if the Congratualtions message box is left open
Public bug reported: In AisleRiot Solitaire, after winning a game a congratulatory message box is displayed. If instead of dismissing that message box you leave it open and open the Statistics window (from File menu), then you won't be able to close the Statistics window, in a way it becomes unresponsive. The only way to close the Statistics window is to through the Congratulations message box, i.e. either close it or start a new game and then close the statistics window. I think the intent was to make the message box modal type, so in that case it should not be possible to open any other window in the game until the user dismisses the message box. And if the developers did not want to make the message box modal, then it should be possible to close the Statistics window directly. [Bug 675108] Re: gnome-power-manager adds battery to indicator twice when battery hot-unplugged and plugged back in
This patch fixes a highly visible regression in Natty. I recognize that normally SRU policy requires that bugs be fixed in the development release first, but it appears that Oneiric has some serious changes to g-p-m, and the battery indicator does not even show up at all there now, so I can not even confirm that it suffers from the same issue. It sounds like the problem was caused by changes to different components in natty being out of sync, so it is entirely likely that the oneiric updates render this fix obsolete there. I therefore think that an exception should be granted and this patch should be released as an SRU now. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/675108 Title: gnome-power-manager adds battery to indicator twice when battery hot- unplugged and plugged back in To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-power/+bug/675108/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 675108] Re: gnome-power-manager adds battery to indicator twice when battery hot-unplugged and plugged back in
Per comment above, accepting Natty task as it's a regression fix and should go as an SRU. Rejecting the Oneiric task as g-p-m seems to be quite/completely different in Oneiric and we're not even sure if the issue is also there and if it'd be the same fix to resolve it (currently g-p-m doesn't show any applet in Oneiric and will be replaced by an indicator).
