[Bug 577351] Re: Window doesn't move to another workspace
I'm surprised that this kind of basic desktop usability bug with that long history is marked incomplete and yes, the bug is still there in Natty Narwhal. The bug appears for me when I right click on window title and from window menu choose to move window to another workspace. The bug doesn't seem to appear very regularly, but one way to reproduce it seems to be following: 1. Open multiple non-maximized windows on desktop 2. Right click on the title of non-focused window 3. Choose Move to another workspace and select workspace by number The window does not move to selected workspace. The bug does not appear only when choosing non-focused windows, but also happens when the window menu of an already focused window is opened. [Bug 825158] [NEW] Cannot Blank or burn to CDRW disk with SuperGrub2
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 11.04, i386 brasero 2.32.1-0ubuntu2 My CDRW device: scsi 1:0:0:0: CD-ROMHL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GH22NS30 2.00 PQ: 0 ANSI: 5 I needed to fix my Linux box that cannot boot so I burned Supergrub2 to my pocket CDRW disk. No problem. I fixed my PC with Supergrub2 disk. http://download.berlios.de/supergrub/super_grub_disk_hybrid-1.98s1.iso I wanted to burn PartedMagic 6.6 to my pocket CDRW disk. I did this many times before but it was not working this time, I received message that there is no usable disk in my CDRW burner. I expected message that Disk has to be blanked before it can be used. It looked like my system is broken and cannot burn CDRW anymore. I blanked my CDRW disk with wodim and it fixed the problem: # wodim dev=/dev/scd0 blank=fast Once the disk was blanked, it works as expected. I guess that SuperGrub2 disk triggers some bug in Brasero. All blank/burn was done on the same PC (Ubuntu 11.04) with the same disk and drive. Steps to repeat the issue: 1) download and burn SuperGrub2 ISO disk to your CDRW disk. http://download.berlios.de/supergrub/super_grub_disk_hybrid-1.98s1.iso 2) try to burn (or blank) other ISO image to your CDRW disk with SuperGrub2 (use Braseiro or Gnome file manager) Details about my CDRW drive and CDRW disk: # wodim -atip Device was not specified. [Bug 825208] [NEW] [lucid] if I decreasing output volume slider with 0%, and after this I increasing slider value for example with 50%, mute check box doesn't follow up the state change
Public bug reported: Dear Developers or package maintainers, I am a visual impaired user, and I using Orca screen reader. I found an interesting bug with gnome-volume-control application, with very important for accessibility related: If I launch the gnome-volume-control preference tool, and decreasing output slider value with 0%, mute check box is checked, the sound is muted. The problem is following: If I increasing the output slider for example with 50%, mute check box doesn't follow slider value change, mute check box doesn't unchecking automaticaly if the slider value is higher with 0%. Good vision users this method doesn't resulting problems, because he's or she's easy to click mouse with mute check box to uncheck the check box state. But a visual impaired user only hear the screen reader. If he not known gnome-volume-control window where find the mute check box (because the screen reader speech output doesn't hearing a muted sound card), doesn't possible unchecking this check box with Space key. Reproducation steps: 1. Launch gnome-volume-control preference tool. 2. Decrease the output slider with 0% for example with keyboard. Press HOME key, and look the mute check box state change. The mute check box is checked. 3. Increase the output slider value with 50% for example with keyboard the PAGEDOWN key, and look the mute check box state. Mute check box state doesn't change. If you press a TAB key and a SPACE key, mute check box is unchecked, and you will be hear sound if you listening for example a music. I don't no this bug are present or not with Maverick, Natty or Ocelot development release, i using Ubuntu 10.04.3 LTS release. Your openion have a chance to fix this bug with affected ubuntu releases? I no, GNOME developers will be not fixing this bug for 2.30.x releases. [Bug 825250] [NEW] Remove Force fallback mode when not using GNOME Shell

[Bug 819714] Re: Can not display GB2312/GB18030 encoded chinese files
I just tested opening the gb180130.txt file in oneiric alpha3. Here are my findings: For auto detect of a new encoding to work in gedit, one must do two things: * Add the encoding in gedit (Open Character Encodings Add/Remove add desired encoding) - Note that after this step the value of Charect Encoding is still Automatically Detected. This will not work to open the file yet. * Set Character Encoding specifically to the encoding you added, and open the file After this, Character Encoding of Automaically Detect works. So, perhaps the fix is to change the Character Encoding widget to select the encoding that one just added (instead of remaining at Automatically Detected) for this ONE open and then, perhaps, revert to Automatically Detected. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gedit in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/819714 Title: Can not display GB2312/GB18030 encoded chinese files To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gedit/+bug/819714/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 825379] [NEW] brasero no longer appears in the app lens after updating alpha 3
Public bug reported: At some point, and update has removed brasero from the app lens. I'm doing testing using Alpha 3 with all the latest updates as of this morning (12 Aug). On other systems I tested earlier this week, Brasero was easy to find by searching for brasero or even cd or dvd in the application lens. Today, however, nothing I can thing of to search for returns a launcher for Brasero. I can still run the program from a terminal, so it's there, and works (I've successfully burned CD and DVDs on two other test systems today) but it's just not launchable anymore from the app lens. If I just insert a blank disk into the drive, the CD/DVD Creator launches, but that provides no way that I can tell to burn an existing ISO image to disk, it only give the option to drag/drop files onto the disk and burn them afterwards. [Bug 821456] Re: Youtube videos don't play anymore
I am able to play Youtube videos as described in this report, using the development release of Ubuntu (Oneiric Ocelot) - I installed from the Alpha 3 image and then upgraded totem to the latest version. Could anyone affected by this problem confirm that this is now working? One way to do itis to download the Oneiric Ocelot Live CD and try to test there, this might require updating totem to the latest version, I think this can be done under the Live CD environment. Please let me know if you need further instructions on how to accomplish this. I'm moving the bug's status to Incomplete until we can get confirmation that this is fixed in development. Thanks! ** Changed in: totem (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to totem in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/821456 Title: Youtube videos don't play anymore To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/totem/+bug/821456/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
