Today I could not reproduce the bug as described. First, the Inputfield-Cursor freezes again, but also when pressing ENTER/RETURN or by clicking with Mouse. Some time later I tried to boot again and this time I logged in on console (CTRL+ALT+F1) before and entered commando "sleep 180 && shutdown -h now", switched back to Graphic-Mode (ALT+F7). [Bug 762058] Re: Ubuntu 11.04 Natty after gnome screensaver, can't click or focus
This is also happening in Linux Mint 11, since it's based on Ubuntu 11.04. Some notes: Seems to only happen after the power saver is engaged (screensaver was disabled). Temporarily fixed by switching to a different TTY. Temporarily fixed by reloading the window manager, or by switching window managers (with Compiz Fusion icon), but issue exists in both Compiz and Metacity. Sometimes right clicking on panel, using the keyboard, clicking on menus, etc, will make certain other things work, or all things, but shortly after it "gums up" again i.e. stops responding. I even bought a new mouse since first experiencing this (not because of the bug, but because I wanted a different one), and the problem remains. Can't someone give any help as to something to test? I know there is a command-line program to listen for input device commands for instance, and was wondering if there were any programs to find out how many windows there are on the screen, or what window is being clicked on, or what X is doing when there is a click, etc? [Bug 826387] [NEW] After resuming from sleep sometimes the computer goes to sleep again
Public bug reported: When I close the lid on my laptop the system is configured to suspend, but sometimes when I open the lid there is just enough time for me to enter the screensaver password and see the desktop before the computer suspends again. This does not always happens, most often it just wakes up as it should. I'm not sure whats triggering this bug. There are other bugs about similar issues, such as #425411 and #306310, but they are marked as fixed and this is still happening on a up to date natty system (with proposed updates enabled). [Bug 737679] Re: topics in rooms do not update or sometimes display
The following signal is sent from telepathy-idle to empathy over the dbus in Lucid, but not in Natty: signal sender=:1.207 -> dest=(null destination) serial=115 path=/org/freedesktop/Telepathy/Connection/idle/irc/John_5fS_5fGruber_40irc_2efreenode_2enet0x8eb5810/MucChannel1; interface=org.freedesktop.Telepathy.Properties; member=PropertiesChanged array [ struct { uint32 8 variant uint32 131726 } struct { uint32 7 variant string "still another topic" } ] These represent the time the topic what changed and the new topic. By the way, changes in moderation are also not reflected in a signal with natty, either. They were in Lucid: signal sender=:1.207 -> dest=(null destination) serial=200 path=/org/freedesktop/Telepathy/Connection/idle/irc/John_5fS_5fGruber_40irc_2efreenode_2enet0x8eb5810/MucChannel1; interface=org.freedesktop.Telepathy.Properties; member=PropertiesChanged array [ struct { uint32 3 variant boolean true } ] As I see it, the problem is that the PropertiesChanged signal, which carries the topic (subject), moderation flag, and other channel information, is no longer emitted on this interface for the channel path. Thus empathy doesn't see that the change in topic has taken place. When a room is joined empathy no doubt queries the channel Properties and would therefore see the topic as of that instant. ** Also affects: lernid (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: telepathy-idle (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to empathy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/737679 Title: topics in rooms do not update or sometimes display To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/737679/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 718266] Re: empathy-accounts crashed with SIGSEGV in g_object_set()
We are very sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner - we simply lack the manpower necessary to process the number of bugs that are filed every day. Procedural and system changes are, of course, being looked at that might help with this problem, but in the mean time there isn't much we can do. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Oneiric Ocelot. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu.
