[Bug 841541] [NEW] "num lock is on" warning remains even after num lock is turned off
Public bug reported: After fiddling with Num Lock, I noticed that the lock window claimed it was still enabled, and yet it is not. Sequence of events: * Turn on Num Lock. * Lock the screen. (On a ThinkPad, I do this by pressing Fn+F2. Whatever option it is that means "lock the screen immediately", I have it turned on.) * Tap a key to bring up the screen-locked/enter-password dialog. * Observe the warning. * Turn off Num Lock. * Observe the warning is still there. * Successfully unlock the screen. * Lock the screen again. * Observe the warning is still there. * [Optional] Unlock the screen. File a bug against gnome-screensaver. Not related to bug #835649, which concerns showing the warning when Num Lock is enabled but not otherwise problematic, e.g. when using a "full- size" (i.e. "has lots of extra keys") keyboard. ** Affects: gnome-screensaver (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/841541 Title: "num lock is on" warning remains even after num lock is turned off To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-screensaver/+bug/841541/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 841409] [NEW] GEdit is the only choise as Calendar application in Default Applications dialog
Public bug reported: In Ubuntu Oneiric (11.10) beta1, opening the Deafult Applications dialog (System Settings -> System Information), GEdit is selected (and only possible choice) for Calendar items. I think this is not expected, since it is not so useful to open calendar data as standard text). In Oneiric Thunderbird is default email client. Currently Thunderbird7 beta is installed, and I noticed the Lightning extension for Calendar is not compatible with it yet. Will Thunderbird/Lightining be possible values for Calendar applications? [Bug 841315] [NEW] on thinkpad-acpi devices, brightness setting ommits most steps
Public bug reported: Brightness changes in very rough steps on some Machines, but only when there is the gpm-OSD appearing showing the brightness setting. So the bug appears not when the session showed is locked, but in an active session or on the login screen the bug appears. On my machine (thinkpad X60) brightness changes with two steps between min and max - these steps are different depending on wether you go up or down hough. So you can hit 6 settings. I think the firmware is capable I think 8, surely indepent on wether set higher or lower. This is found on an X60 Tablet, an Lenovo Netbook (sorry, not sure which device exactly) and an X201 Tablet. This leads me to believe this is an issue with the thinkpad-acpi kernel module, which has an proprietary interface for the screen brightness.
