[Bug 99675] Re: System incredibly slow after suspend, refuses to restart

2011-10-01 Thread Jason Smith
Im getting this in natty too, or something similar. Suspend/resume work
fine and are fast, but after resuming, hard drive access speed is
limited to ~4MB/s. USB hard drives plugged into the system are not
affected though. It's not quite unusable, but extremely frustrating
when doing anything with the hard drive.

OK, I have gnome-control-center-1:3.2.0-0ubuntu4 Well, the old
problem is fixed, ie. finally i am able to set my Turn off after to
Never with the setting saved, instead of it reverting back to 1
minute and the screen dimming immediately without activity. However, it
seems the old problem remains, ie. screen dimming immediately without
activity, when I set it to Never. Please check again.

[Bug 863960] [NEW] reading IMAP inboxes doesn't work: no such table: mem.INBOX

2011-10-01 Thread 10111
Public bug reported:

Hey there,

I recently installed Ubuntu 11.10 Beta 2; with older Ubuntu versions I
used Evolution for accessing my IMAP4 email accounts, so I installed it
again and restored the settings file I exported from the old Evolution
in Ubuntu 10.04.

There's two bugs that might be connected:

1. Whenever I try to view the inbox I get an error instead: no such table:
mem.INBOX So I can't read messages from my inbox but reading from the other
directories works.
2. Not all the directories I have in my IMAP accounts are listed. Refreshing
doesn't help, a lot of directories simply don't show up.

I could not find any workaround for this on Google.

Joachim

[Bug 863967] [NEW] Nautilus 3.1.92 (11.10 beta 2)showing wrong number of files/contents

2011-10-01 Thread Chris
Public bug reported:

Under certain circumstances Nautilus with a list view shows the
incorrect number of files in a folder in the line summary when viewing
the parent directory. This problem can be recreated with removable
media, where the files have just been written to the folder with another
program (in this case a bash backup script). In the first instance I
saw, removing the media and re-inserting it did not fix the error.
Sometimes the number of files will update part way though the file
transfer, but the total will stick at this figure and will not be
updated, even when the media is removed and re-inserted. This occurred
when the directory was also created by the same script doing the
copying.

[Bug 863975] [NEW] constanly steals focus when diming the display

2011-10-01 Thread Martin-Éric Racine
Public bug reported:

Whichever most recent version of gnome-screensaver got into Oneiric
within the last couple of days constantly tries to dim the display and,
in doing so, steals focus away from whatever application the user is
utilizing.

This, among other things, resulted in this bug taking 20 minutes to
fill, in a situation where 2 minutes would normally suffice, simply
because I kept on having to click anywhere in Firefox to prevent gnome-
screensvaer from stealing the focus again.

[Bug 854624] Re: [oneiric] suspend/hibernate not performed according to Power Settings

2011-10-01 Thread Cas
The OP bug description is rather vague and the comments saying me too
are equally vague.

The original bug for me was that there was basically no automatic
suspend/hibernate prior to this bug being fixed so my laptop even on
battery power would never suspend. I assume this was the case with the
OP and that is why he set it to fix released.

To save a lot of confusion the best thing to do is for someone to create
a new bug which would be based on the new comments that their machines
suspend even with Don't suspend is selected.

[Bug 833397] Re: indicator power displayed twice on panel

Just a thought: I had another problem with power-indicator, this bug I
reported last week after an update:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-power/+bug/859294

The solution for me was actually to have a fresh install as I guess the
repeated updatedist-upgrade messed things up. After the fresh install
(daily built live cd from 30 sept 2011) this bug was gone, without any
explanation.

[Bug 864077] [NEW] item order in evolution menu bar sometimes wrong

Public bug reported:

How to reproduce:

- start evolution

2011-10-01 Thread timmy
My desktop has suspend disabled through all GUI options I can find, yet
it still suspends, and can never be woken up. Makes ubuntu 11.10 totally
unusable. Attached is dmesg. After I push a key to resume, the display
stays turned off, and the CPU fan spins to the max. Must push the power
button to turn off the computer.

Also same, except on initial start up it looks normal and then after a
while of use everything suddenly appears grey with icons that look
similar to simple document icons. Also the highlight selection box
created from dragging the cursor on the desktop is no longer orange and
also turns grey.

[Bug 864182] [NEW] 11.10 suspends regardless of setting in gnome power settings

2011-10-01 Thread Aaron C. de Bruyn
Public bug reported:

Just upgraded my workstation to 11.10 for testing. It regularly goes to
(sleep?) after about 30ish minutes.
The screen is still on with a blinking cursor displayed in the upper left. The
power and reset button lights on my workstation flash like it's in sleep mode.
Looking at the Gnome power settings, I see that it's set to Suspend when
inactive for: Don't suspend and When power is critically low: blank

Tweaking those settings doesn't appear to affect it going to sleep.

[Bug 864200] [NEW] Rhythmbox stops playing music when iPod Touch is hooked up to USB

2011-10-01 Thread Thomas J. Barber
Public bug reported:

Music is playing nicely in Rhythmbox while I work. I hook my iPod Touch
up to my computer through USB to let it charge and grab some pictures
off of it. Rhythmbox continues to play nicely. However, once Rhythmbox
reaches the end of the currently playing song it completely locks up and
requires me to kill the process before I can continue. If I start
Rhythmbox with my iPod hooked up, it'll play one song and do the same
thing. Hope it gets fixed soon!
