[Bug 913736] [NEW] Thinkpad 410s -- Cannot re-enable Bluetooth after it's been disabled
Public bug reported: During UDS-P I was experimenting with various settings to reduce power consumption on my Lenonvo Thinkpad 410s. I turned Bluetooth off via the System Settings - Bluetooth panel. I also removed the icon from the panel by turning visibility to Off. This all works great except for the simple fact that I cannot re-enable my Bluetooth anymore. When I re-launch System Settings - Bluetooth, both toggle switches are Off, and the left hand column below includes the text No Bluetooth Adapters found. There seems to be no way to re-enable my Bluetooth now as both switches are disabled and grayed out. I believe this is due to the fact that when BT is disabled, the device disappears from the bus, which leaves nothing for the code to grab in order to re-enable the device. This is a guess on my part, as I haven't yet taken a look at the code... My machine is running 11.10 with all of the latest updates. [Bug 913776] [NEW] rhythmbox closes unexpectedly (mostly on clicking 'play')
Public bug reported: I installed Rhyhmbox through Lubuntus Software Center - no errors. In preferencesMusic I checked the box to watch for new files in /home/Music - imports only a small fractions of my files (400MB/4.4GB) - no more busy loading bar in the bottom right I click 'play' anyway and it closes down on me (quits the program). Retrying a couple of times brings forward the same error - once it even quits before I can click the 'play' button. Then disable 'watch for new files' and right-click an mp3 file to open it in rhythmbox, it jumps to rhythmbox and does nothing (also does not quit). [Bug 913736] Re: Thinkpad 410s -- Cannot re-enable Bluetooth after it's been disabled
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected oneiric running-unity ** Description changed: During UDS-P I was experimenting with various settings to reduce power consumption on my Lenonvo Thinkpad 410s. [Bug 402962] Re: Notify OSD should not rely on applications that inhibit the screensaver
After considering this further, I don't see what Notify OSD could reasonably change here. The relative amount of screen taken up by screensavers and notifications is not relevant. What is relevant is that we don't want non-urgent notification bubbles appearing in front of videos or other things that you should not be interrupted from. That is exactly the same reason as applications inhibit the screensaver. Therefore, we listen for the same signal. Unfortunately, Totem inhibits the screensaver by default when music is playing. This does not seem to make sense. Jeremy Nickurak has it right: the screensaver should inhibit only when Totem is playing a full-screen video -- not a windowed video, and certainly not music. So it is Totem that needs fixing here, not Notify OSD. ** Changed in: notify-osd (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to totem in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/402962 Title: Notify OSD should not rely on applications that inhibit the screensaver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/notify-osd/+bug/402962/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 890026] Re: Custom GNOME panel launcher icons lost upon upgrade to Oneiric
+1 I'm using gnome classic (no effects) under Oneric too, and I find managing application launchers in top panel very unfriendly. 1) There is no option to add a launcher icon using mouse-right, no one will guess that you have to create *.desktop file and drag it to the panel. 2) There is no option to remove such launcher from panel. Please add right menu to add application launcher and option to remove it from panel. [Bug 914014] [NEW] totem no longer plays dvds in precise
Public bug reported: totem can no longer play DVDs for me in Precise. When I try totem starts up and displays 'Title 74, Chaper 1' in the menu bar, but otherwise a black screen. This used to worke in Oneiric before I upgraded. It's not an encryption issue as libdvdcss2 is still installed and I can play the DVDs with xine. There's nothing particularly interesting in ~/.xsession-errors, but I'll attatch the relevant parts anyway. ** Affects: totem (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: regression-proposed ** Tags added: regression-proposed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to totem in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/914014 Title: totem no longer plays dvds in precise To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/totem/+bug/914014/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
